Wrenwane Digital Kitchen Timer (Upgraded), No Frills, Simple Operation, Big Digits, Loud Alarm, Magnetic Backing, Stand, White

Great timer! I've used it for 10 months now, no problems. Generally I set it when putting something on the stove and going to another room. I like the magnet feature, because I keep it on the fridge; I like the pop-out stand when I take it to another room. It's very easy to set and the display is a great size (not too small). Some people might find the 1 full minute of beeping annoying (unless you shut it off right away, of course), but I like knowing that I won't miss the signal if it had just 3 or 5 beeps. The volume is a bit startling if you're near it, but good for being in another room. I save the battery by turning it off between uses, which may be several days. The one thing that was annoying was the number of contacts (emails) by the company when I first purchased. Apparently there have been enough problems that they're trying to "head them off", asking that you contact the company, not Amazon. While I appreciate that they stand behind their product so well, the 3rd message was just too annoying, especially as I'd hardly had a chance to use the timer yet. I recommend this timer, and will buy it again when this one wears out. I

This timer works great, couldn't be happier. Very simple to operate and counts down or continuously up, numbers are large and readable from over 10 feet away. Alarm is loud enough to hear from a room or two away, and very loud if you're nearby, even if there are other background noises. Has an on-off switch for saving battery life. Magnet holds well enough on refrigerator to prevent slipping but don't expect it to lock-on like a vice. The one minor drawback that others have mentioned is that when attached using the magnet and when pressing the buttons the magnet will often lose it's hold. If one-hand operation is a requirement then the magnetic function on this can't be relied upon as it stands. However it should be possible to attach some type of small support brace behind the bottom to alleviate this issue - perhaps a small piece of hard foam or sponge. Have no idea about long-term durability, but hopefully this lasts for more than a year. If it breaks after that then I'll have no complaints based on it's reasonable price and I'll just buy another one. If it breaks sooner than that then I'll update my review.

Received the timer, immediately put it on my refrigerator, and have been using it. Love it, easy to use. The magnet is very strong, the timer is not heavy. The display is large and easy to read although easier to read if tilted toward a light. The alarm is loud, I can hear it when in the basement laundry room with the dryer running, very nice. The alarm continues for more than 1 minute. Really like that since my last alarm would only ring for a few seconds so I would sometimes miss it and could only hear in the next room, not on another floor. One of the reasons I bought this alarm was the on/off switch. Received an email from the seller morning after the alarm was delivered highlighting a few instructions and wanting to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Very nice to know the seller is serious about keeping customers happy.

I purchased the Wrenwane Digital Kitchen Timer for it's countdown feature. I work in an industrial setting and have only 25 minutes to complete each project assignment. In order to keep abreast of my time, I carry a countdown timer and time each task I am assigned. Up until now, I have been using a Polder 898-90 digital kitchen timer, which is a clock, timer, and stopwatch all in one. I actually stole the Polder out of my wife's kitchen, which hasn't gone over well. Comparing the Wrenwane timer to the Polder there are a few notable differences. First off is the size. The Polder is smaller, slimmer, and fits much easier in a pocket. The Wrenwane is fatter, squarer and is a bit harder to conveniently carry around. The Polder comes with a convenient neck cord so I can wear it around my neck at the worksite. The Wrenwane, on the other hand, comes with a place for a neck cord, but does not come packaged with a neck cord. The display on the Wrenware is much larger, making the information much easier to read at a glance. The display on the Polder timer is noticeably smaller but, nonetheless, readable. As previously stated, the Polder has a clock function, a count-up function, and a count-down function. The Wrenwane has only count-down/count-up functions, which is not a big deal. After all, you purchase a timer to time, not for use as a clock. We have watches and cell phones for that purpose. Unlike the Wrenwane, the Polder does not have an on/off switch, but in five years of almost daily use, I've had to change the battery in the Polder only once. The battery in the Polder 898-90 is a button-style LR44 (alkaline), or you can substitute the alkaline for an identically sized 303/357 silver oxide battery, which should give even longer service. The Wrenware, on the other hand, uses one AAA battery. I'm not sure how long the battery in the Wrenwane will last, but I suspect a long time since it features an on/off switch which completely shuts down power to the display. The annunciation (sound) level from the Polder timer is a bit louder and sharper than that on the Wrenwane timer, which offers a somewhat softer tone. When timing something in the kitchen of my house I can clearly hear, from the room furtherest from the kitchen, the Polder timer when it goes off. The Wrenwane is not quite as audible, but not bad for a timer. In fact, with the exception of the Polder 898-90,the Wrenwane is noticeably louder than most kitchen timers I've used in the past. The Wrenwane and the Polder timers both feature two fairly strong magnets in the back, which stick very securely to most metal surfaces. The Polder magnets appear to be just a hair stronger, but both timers will remain in place when stuck to a metal object, such as a refrigerator. Regarding build quality, the Polder 898-90 is the clear winner in this case. While the Wrenwane is no slouch in build quality, it simply feels a bit cheaper made and is not as solid-feeling as the Polder. In summary, I am happy with my purchase of the Wrenwane. It is, indeed, a fine kitchen timer, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a competent kitchen timer but, all things considered, in a side-to-side comparison, I feel the Polder 898-90 is a better product. Simple and easy to use timer but so effective, even my 3 year old knows how to use it already. Its really well made with a big display so it's good to see from a distance. Love the fact that it's stands up and you can also stick it on the fridge. I use to set a timer with Alexa but I find myself using this timer all the time now instead. I could never near Alexa so this time has been great, it's quite loud and because you can take it with you into a different room means that you won't miss the alarm going off. We use it at dinner time with my son. He's such a slow eat so having the timer sat in front of him he can clearly see the timer counting down which makes him speed up as he doesn't get pudding if the timer goes off before he's finished. We also use it for naughty step time, as soon as he is quite then I get him to start the timer himself. He will even turn it off when he has finished with him. This timer does the job and it's a good useful item to have. Would also like to say shipping was really fast and it was packaged really well. Also liked that the seller sent messages to make sure that the product was alright and to say if there was any problem with the timer to let them know. Very good customer service.

It's very simple and timing is its only purpose so it's really easy to use even when you're in a hurry. The magnet on the back is really really convenient. The digits are clear and very legible. A really good buy.

Das Kurzzeitmesser wird ohne Batterien geliefert. Man benötigt dafür eine AAA Batterie. Die Funktion ist ganz einfach und ich musste noch nicht einmal die Anleitung lesen. Batterien einlegen und schon kann die gewünschte Zeit eingestellt werden. Im vorderen Bereich befinden sich drei blaue Knöpfe. Mit dem Linken stellt man die Minuten ein, der Mittlere ist für die Sekunden und mit dem rechten Knopf wird die Zeit gestartet oder gestoppt. Durch gleichzeitiges Drücken der Minuten und Sekundentaste wird die Zeit auf Null zurück gestellt. Wird dann die Start-Taste betätigt, zählt die Zeit aufwärts. Die Bedienung der Knöpfe ist sehr einfach und sie funktionieren durch leichten Druck. Der Alarm hat eine gute Lautstärke und man hört ihn auch, wenn die Abzugshaube auf höchster Stufe läuft. Das war nämlich bei meinem alten Kurzzeitmesser nicht möglich. Aufgrund des großen Displays kann man die Zeit auch noch von der anderen Seite des Raumes sehr gut lesen. Auf der Rückseite des Gerätes befindet sich zwei sehr starke Magnete; damit kann das Gerät an metallhaltigen Gegenständen wie Abzugshaube oder Kühlschrank befestigt werden. Ansonsten kann das Gerät am Haken an einer Wand befestigt werden oder durch den aufklappbaren Ständer auf der Anrichte oder Regal abgestellt werden. Um Batterien zu sparen, kann das Gerät an der Seite durch herunterdrücken des Schalters ausgeschaltet werden. Ich bin sehr zufrieden damit, da sie perfekt funktioniert und leicht bedienbar ist. Ich habe mir gleich zwei Geräte bestellt, die auch nebeneinander an der Abzugshaube gut aussehen.

Simple to operate timer with large numerals, good-sized buttons, and loud (60- second) alarm. Best fridge-mounted timer that I have ever bought.
