Ted's Hot Dogs Hot Sauce

Having grown up in the area where Ted's Hot Dogs has been an institution for well over 50 years, I was ecstatic when I found out that the hot dog sauce was now available in the local grocery stores to the point where I brought a case back to Florida with me this past summer. The sauce itself is thick, a bit sweet, a bit tart and a bit more spicy and goes great on hot dogs and burgers. We use it as a condiment on pretty much anything and anywhere you would use ketchup to spice up the food. It has a great flavor not too far different from ketchup with a kick to it.

Adds a nice different flavor to a plain hot dog on a bun

I often try new regional food products from all over America, as food is my #1 indulgence in life. I don't gamble, I don't do drugs, and I don't travel like I used to. But I love food, so I spend a lot of money on it. The problem with regional items is that the reviews are often influenced by a person's nostalgia for a food. For example, they may call a certain barbecue sauce "the best in the world" not because they objectively think it's the best, but rather because it's what they grew up eating and it reminds them of good times when they were young. There are many, MANY such products for sale on Amazon and several times per year I find myself buying them and being disappointed. Thankfully, Ted's Hot Dog Sauce is not a disappointment. It is absolutely fantastic, like a smokey, thick relish. I have mostly eaten it on hot dogs, but one day I mixed some with barbecue sauce and made the best turkey burger of my life. I am thrilled to have discovered this.

There’s nothing that compares to Ted’s Sauce

This is more a relish than a traditional hot sauce, chunky as opposed to smooth. And it is a heavenly addition to hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages and all things grilled. I grew up with this potion, so forgive me for the bias. Whenever I return to Buffalo I make a dash for the nearest Ted's restaurant just for this sauce. Now I can get it on that webernet thing you kids are always looking at, so I can get heaven delivered to me. It seems to keep forever in the fridge, so you can use it sparingly. A little goes a long way with the heat factor. Buy two to spread out the delivery fee and you won't be disappointed!
