FCar F502 heavy duty truck handheld code reader/scanner 2nd edition

I ordered this and was very excited to get it. I have 2 semis. To the point, no holds barred: It worked just fine on my 2012 International Prostar, however, it did not work in my 2011 International Prostar. All of the comments about the screen being small are true. In order to read it, I had to take a photo of the screen with my phone and enlarge it. I am considering sending it back for that reason alone - in addition to the fact that I wanted 1 unit that would work on both trucks. On a good note, it was very easy to connect. ******* UPDATE ******** I am happy to report that this unit does work on both my 2011 and 2012 International Prostar. The issue was that I needed the last update, from August 2017. I was able to read and clear codes with no problems after the update. Before, I was getting a "communication failure" error sign. I am still not happen about the small screen but my mechanic wanted to keep it so I did.

This is not a magic tool that you hook up to your truck and tells you whats wrong with it. It is a code reader which will give you a code that you must look up ( online ). Because it does not come with a code book. It talks to the computer in your truck and tells you any codes for electronic malfunctions but not mechanical problems. This tool also gives you the option to see live data while the engine is running. How much data you get depends on the trucks system. In my humble opinion buying this tool was money well spent as I found the problem with my truck and did not have to call a mechanic to repair it which would have cost more than the tool and the part together.

the scanner is stuck on update mode how do i return it says it has a 1 year warranty for a replacement

This product works as good as our high dollar scanner. Very simple to use. Works great.

Only have had it 2wks could only get Cummins to read at this point still trying different engines as they come thru the shop.

Had to return item as it would not work with my vehicle.

very cost effective....was able to retrieve codes, fix problem, and clear the codes....made my money back 5 fold
