How do you adjust the laser as mine arrived today and when following the laser its verring way off to the right and no where near my line?
Hello, can I also use this to saw tiles?
Does this saw take bayonet blades from other manufacturers? like bosch pro 10tlg or saxton jigsaw blades. basically universal jigsaw blades? thanks :)
Is this good enough to cut and pay laminate flooring ?

I am pleasantly impressed with this jigsaw!

The media could not be loaded. I am pleasantly impressed with this jigsaw!I've been using this to cut some hardwood floorboards to secure our rotting shed door until the new one arrives.I really like that you have plenty of included blades to get going. They are labelled too with what their intended use is for.The power to cut through wood has been excellent so far.Blades are easy to install and remove. It is fairly quiet too, considering the amount of work it is doing.Yes, I agree with other reviews, it is a heavy tool but I think this helps with cutting since you need to be steady with cutting and the mass of the tool helps with this. The blades have been very good to cut timber. It is great to get a selection of blades for wood and metal! The storage areas are great though one of the longer wood blades is far too long to fit in there.Overall though the tool really does look to have been made to a high quality, the cable and switches, the plastics and blades are all really nicely made.I was tempted for a more expensive brand but I am so glad I've purchased this model since it does exactly what I need for a really good price. Thus far, a very happy customer here!

A couple of niggles

I have to say that for the price this jigsaw looks quite well made, it is solid and fairly heavy in contrast to many other makes on the market, I would describe it as being ‘robust’. Not that it really matters with a power tool that is mainly used on a flat cutting surface, but may get a bit tiring if using it vertically as it is fairly heavy. It has an 800 Watt motor which should tackle most DIY jobs and a claimed cut depth of 110mm in wood and 10mm in metal, but that thickness even in Mild Steel is a push for any jigsaw even with decent blades and some lubrication, nowadays you would be faster using a cutting disc on a small grinder to do that. The build quality looks very good for what is a reasonably cheap jigsaw, I got mine at £10 off so paid just under £34 and you don’t usually get a lot for that.So what do you get?You get a variable speed dial conveniently located for your thumb to dial up or down to give you a range of between 800 to 3000 SPM (strokes per minute). I have never been a fan of these speed controllers as all mine have seemed to go faulty after a couple of years in use, but time will tell.It has the usual pull on and off trigger without the tiresome ‘safety’ button that seem so common on many hand tools manufactured today that insist upon you pressing in an additional button prior to the start trigger. It does however have a handy slide along lock to keep the trigger depressed if you need to do this for long straight cutting jobs while using the supplied width cutting guide, this lock will slide from left to right or vica versa, so it can be thumb or forefinger operated to set or release. The blades which are standard bayonet type (think Bosch) are inserted directly into the slot after turning a spring loaded grip on the cutting pendulum. This is a lot better than many quick releases I have seen in the past, my only criticism is that if like me you have big fingers, it can be a little awkward to twist. There are no other mechanical parts or tools required to fix the blade, but past experience tells me to keep this part well cleaned after use and when changing blades as they can easily become clogged up with dust. There is a 4 position lever behind the blade which will adjust the pressure on the back of the blade via the small guide wheel. This allows you to vary the pressure on the pendulum when either cutting straight lines or curved shapes. On each side is a magnetic blade storage box and you also get a decent selection of blades to get you started for plastic, wood & metal although why one of the supplied blades is too long for the boxes is a mystery. In addition to a wire blade guard on the front you also have a nice thin laser beam that I found to be very accurate to assist in cutting lines. This laser is activated on or off by pressing a small button on the front. What exactly powers this laser I don’t know as it works either plugged in or not, maybe there is a battery that gets charged up when in use, or maybe just a battery that can be changed. I could find no further information on this.Neither could I figure out or find any information on the small sliding button on the side that just had the words ‘blow’ moulded into it and a forwards and backwards arrow. It did not seem to do anything, at first I thought that it may have directed air from the motor to clear dust from the blade, but it may be something to do with having a vacuum cleaner attached, to be honest I don’t know.Again lacking information is the actual shoe of the jigsaw, it is surprisingly well engineered but lacks information. For example nowhere does it say that the plastic base plate can be removed, no problem for anyone familiar with this sort of thing, but for someone who is not and they try cutting metal with the plastic shoe still in place they will find it gets all gouged up with metal cuttings and no longer be a protective shoe when the job calls for one.I reserve my most critical comment for the angular tilt and locking lever, mine just did not work at all. There was no way could I open the locking lever and I had to resort to slackening off the single cross head screw and the socket head screw inside the base plate in order to release the lever. That in itself is a major problem as the two screws need to be slacked off in order and both screws were unbelievably tight. First of all the cross head screw should be released about half a turn, now release the socket screw about the same, BUT BE AWARE that the socket head screw is a LEFT hand thread and as I have said, both screws are very tight. I assume that this part is supposed to be set up during manufacture, but mine was too tight to move, even after releasing the lever the angular tilt would not move at all in any direction. By trial and error with the lever fully open, you can adjust the tightness of the socket screw so that with the lever closed the shoe is held firmly. Afterwards only pinch up the cross head screw to lock the position, you may need to do this a couple of times to get it right. The next bit of missing information is that in order actually rotate the shoe to different angles once the lever is released, you also need to PUSH the shoe forward towards the blade end so that it disengages with a small nib on the underside, it will then rotate freely. Once in your chosen position, pull it back to locate the nib again before locking the lever down.I hope that this information is helpful and I would honestly recommend this jigsaw especially for the price, it is well made and only lacks a bit more general information for the buyer. It comes with a decent carrying case and looks the business, happy to give it 5 stars even with the niggles.

Excellent value for money.

This is a well presented machine with a quality feel to it. I have a few small niggles with it but taking price into consideration I would have to be fair and state that they will not greatly affect the performance. The laser is not of any major benefit and as another reviewer mentioned a decent led to illuminate the work area would be more beneficial. Even though it does have speed control by way of a rotary dial at the very front top of the handle this is not reflected in the operating pull switch. Therefore you either select a speed range before you start your cut or try to do so while cutting which is a little awkward. On other jigsaws I have used the speed can be controlled by the trigger which makes the job easier. As noted at the start of the review I guess features are related to price but for me I wouldn't object to paying a little extra to have this feature. The ability to be able to tilt to 45 degrees or whatever is handy but I would be apprehensive as to its accuracy. I tried two opposing cuts but they did not quite make 90 degrees. Very close but not "Bulls Eye". Of course there are much more suitable machines for this purpose but if the feature is on the machine it should be more accurate. The fence bar is not really fit for purpose if you need to cut something like 2 or 3mm sheet metal as the sheet slips in underneath it therefore negating it unusable. In my case this was not such a big deal as I have better quality fences which fitted the machine and allowed me to cut more accurately. In my opinion this is not a game changer as the one supplied will work absolutely fine with Ply sheets or likewise but is something a prospective buyer should be aware of.The machine is very ergonomic, sits comfortably in the hand and oozes power. Vibration is relatively low but the machine is loud. The sole plate is covered with a plastic type material which is not ideal if like in my case you are cutting aluminum, the fine dust sticks and left undesirable marks on the finish of the cover I was cutting.Overall I would rate the machine as more suited to a wood worker. For the price it packs a decent punch and in the right hands will do a great job. I certainly would give it a good recommendation but it's probably not the best machine for someone who does metalwork, especially finished pieces, i.e painted, polished etc. Definitely not the best for a beginner.I can easily make a few mods to it to suit my own needs and considering all the good things about it I will be keeping it and not returning. For the price paid I would consider it a good buy.

Jig saw

This jigsaw is amazing, it's so powerful I was cutting through 3 inch blocks of wood in about 5 seconds. You need no tools to change the blades and it's so easy.It has a 3 speed motor, the jigsaw is heavy due to the motor being copper it just so well made. I Paid £40 and its worth every penny you will not be disappointed
