Fischer Barometer Pascal, Brass-Mahogany 6.7" / 170 mm - 1436R-22 (Display English)

This looks stunning on my wall! It's absolutely gorgeous and I love it. Setup was easy, pound one nail into a stud and hang it up. In my case I already had a nail there, maybe you do too. Calibrating it was a cinch, all you have to do is go online, find out what the barometric pressure is at your local airport (You'll probably have to find a conversion tool online as well) and set your barometer to that pressure reading by turning the screw on the back of the instrument. Just be sure to turn the correct screw. The screw that is kind of more in the middle attaches the instrument to the housing. I accidentally started loosening it, to the point I could see the instrument moving, but I just tightened it back up real quick and it doesn't seem to have caused any problems. Also, it was packaged for shipping very nicely. I paid for the fast shipping and it arrived from Germany in a week. That's with a weekend and a holiday in America - not bad at all. Only con is that it is pricey, especially when you include shipping. But it is worth it for the quality and the beauty of it. This is an heirloom item.

Super accurate, very well made, and looks pretty nice also. No plastic parts anywhere, and definitely an heirloom quality instrument. When you receive it you'll have to calibrate it for your elevation, but the included instructions are very easy to follow. Highly recommended, but not cheap or cheaply made. Again, this is an heirloom instrument.

I am in Boston at sea level where the barometer rarely ever falls to below 29.3 inches which this indicates as "Change" here (we were having our historic Blizzard at the time) , nor do readings rise above 30.5. Check your towns average high/low range and see if it cooresponds to the Rain/Fair readings here or this wont be much use to you. My sense is that this is make for average elevations for about 1,000' asl. Not good at sea level or above 3,000'

Very Accurate after all its a Fisher. Set it and checked it every day for a week get my local reading from the Weather channel. Right on everyday. money will spent. Thank you Fisher of Germany!

I love waking up every morning and taking barometric reading! It is so fun to watch the pressure change with the weather, and now I know the exact point below which I get a headache! This is a beautiful addition to my apartment. It looks so wonderful on the wall. Easy to calibrate with instructions that are included.

It took 22 days to get here but it was worth the wait. The barometer is really beautiful and looks great on my wall. The instrument is very responsive and the needle moves even on small changes on barometric pressure. The history needle right now is quite hard to move by hand but I hope that with some usage that it would move more easily. I would buy this barometer again. Update: After I used this barometer for a few weeks I wished that the history needle would have had a different color than the face of the barometer because it makes it harder to read and see especially from the distance.

Be careful! at the back, there are 2 screws. Pay attention for which one to use to adjust. I gave mine a 48 hour rest before adjusting. I got my pressure value from Environment Canada's website for my city. I've been monitoring and comparing. Our barometer has so far been spot on. in the media pressure is given in hPa or kPa. here's a trick: the atmosphere is close to 100,000 Pa. That means 1 atm is equal to 100 X 1000 Pa or 100Kpa vice versa? 1000 X 100 =1000hPa.
