MugGuard, Short

Bought this item twice. One for my bike on my 29” tyre and then for my son’s bike on a smaller 27” 2.5 tyre. It works well on both chubby and skinnier tyres. I used zip-ties on these and not the Velcro strips that are provided. Really easy to install takes minutes.

The Mucky Nutz MugGuard is light in weight and solid in made. The design looks good and really makes a difference in keeping a mountain bike cleaner during rides. However, mine arrived missing its ties, so I had to buy replacements when I purchased in June 2025. I ended up using cable ties instead, which actually worked out better as they kept the guard sturdy and stable, even when the bike bounced over rough terrain. The only downside is its short coverage. If the length were extended a bit more, it would offer much better protection. I initially rated it 2 stars, but after using it properly, I think it's worth buying (so I rated 4 stars) and investing in—as long as you use reliable cable ties for a secure fit 😉 I would recommend it for cyclists

Good quality mudguard

Fits perfectly on Rock Shox Lyric 2022 27.5” and with 2.5” tyre width. The main reasons for purchasing was to avoid wearing glasses on night rides and it has made that goal a reality. I have noticed a massive difference in riding comfort in general and considerably less muck gets on my face and glasses/goggles now. No longer do I have to put up with the nuisance of wearing glasses on night rides or dull overcast days in the forest (Photochromatic lenses don’t react quick enough and clear lenses are irritating). I have noticed yet experienced a jamming event between the tyre and the mud guard which was a concern - I have recently ridded some very sloppy trails and have had no issues. Bonus that it is made in the UK - Back buying British 👍🏻

After having a problem with installing the mudguard (my own fault) I realised how good they are. Been riding my bike without any problems and without water or mud on my face. Going to get the rear mudguard now. Thank you.

Selected a premium brand for the guard and overall disappointed with the overall result. Overall length of the Velcro was just enough, but could have done with another 10 cm (total) for more overlap on the 4 x side ties. Plastic pretty flimsy. Paying another £10 for the name above other guards and now wish that I hadnt bothered! Yes it fits, but dont think its worth the premium.

Absolutely perfect, fits my Trance E perfectly, really easy to install and I have no doubt I willl be avoiding the muddy face look on future rides. 100% would recommend. The best thing is how discrete the guard is. I hate mudguards that spoil the look of the bike and these definitely don’t.

Pretty good mudguard. I like the look of it on the bike and it functions pretty well. Definitely keeps my linkage a lot cleaner. The plastic is recycled and supposed to be more environmentally friendly. The plastic does feel a little different than you expect, almost kind of lighter or more brittle feeling, but it's been holding up just fine and seems to be plenty durable. Update: after using it with the Velcro strapping it came with, I actually switched to zip ties instead after a while. The straps eventually weren't holding as well, and I think would slightly stretch over time from being wet and such. They would also get dirtier. So I switched them out with zip ties, which don't hold as much dirt, and seem more stable and don't stretch and don't need adjustment like the velcro straps. The zip tie mounting seems to work better all around, but isn't as easily removable as the straps. The clearance on my bike is also really tight for the fender, so this may not be as big of a deal on some other bikes, out of you're using the fender on the front

Acquistato sia per anteriore che per posteriore. L'anteriore con forcella Rockshox mozzo Boost e Maxxis 27,5 x 2,8 calza bene e rimane ancora spazio. Non isola completamente la bici dagli schizzi (ovviamente) ma protegge più dei soliti fender Sul posteriore è un pò più preciso, sempre con Maxxis 27,5 x 2,8 (c'è meno luce tra ponticello e ruota). Io ho dovuto anche adattarlo un pò: a dx toccava nella catena quando questa è sui pignoni più interni e l'ho anche allungato di circa7-8 cm con un pezzo di gomma per proteggere l'attacco basso dell'ammortizzatore. Nella confezione c'è anche un rotolino di velcro, comodo se si vuole montare-smontare di frequente; io li ho montati con le fascette elettriche per rendere il tutto un pò più stabile. Senz'altro soddisfatto del prodotto

Il est discret comme je voulais, suffisamment rigide pour ne pas bouger sur des chocs tout en étant léger. Si ça pouvait protéger un peu plus la tige de selle et l'amortisseur des projections de boue, je serai déjà content. Reste a voir si c'est efficace sur la prochaine rando qui sera assurément bien humide.

Works really well, Light and easy to both install and remove. Have 2 sizes, will buy more for other bikes and rear mounts.
