Leonardo. The Complete Paintings and Drawings

I was quite surprised by the quality of this book! I bought it for the content (exactly what I wanted- works of da Vinci - and now it will double as decor!

Print is very small and hard to read with these old eyes. But that is not that concerning since the images of DaVinci’s paintings and drawing are terrific. The close up images of important areas of the paintings is particularly informative. All in all this is a great collection of images organized by media and subject. Well worth the price!

I first saw this book about 10 years ago. Wanted it badly, but the price tag was out of my range at the time. So I setteld on a much smaller 2 volume set by the same publisher. This 2 volume title split his technical and art into two books and was very condensed. I came home and put the big book on my wish list, where it quickly went out of print and started selling upwards of $300. It was on my list this whole time. I attended a traveling show on Leonardo machines and I saw this book there for $200 with a curious little sticker on the plastic wrap that said "Updated with the latest scholarly references'. I brought it home and much to my susprise, I found that this book was available again on Amazon for $130. I also discovered a 25th aniversary edition of the same title. The 25th aniversary edition is just a shrunken version of this beheamoth. About 1/3 of the size. You find all kinds of page number differences between the volumes/editions. Dont be fooled. The 25th and the 2004 editions have the same content and the 2012 edition even has the same number of pages but with updated pictures and text. Turns out this edition, that is available right now, has the same ISBN # as the previous 2004 edition but does not show a publish date of 2012. Confused? Dont be. This is THE latest BOOK you want and it is fabulous! I am blown away and astounded at this collection. I cant express my grattitude enough to the publisher, for supplying me with such a beautiful, expanded, detailed copies of this man's work. thank you Tashen and Mr. Zollner

Good value, hefty, excellent book of his paintings and drawings. Excellent intro of his works for any reader. One star deducted for bad packaging -- not properly bubble-wrapped, weighty book must have bounce around the spacious box -- spine of book was dented. A little upset but it is the contents that matters after all. I am ok with it now.

She’s a thick one!! Love this book so much, I feel like it would be great for an artist’s decor and as a gift for them as well. It’s very knowledgeable and explanatory.

A complete collection of Leonardo Da Vinci's paintings , drawings... The paper is of very high quality glossy , the paintings as if come alive in this book. A must have for any serious art enthusiast . An enviable collection for a bibliophile.

If you are a fan of Leonardo’s work or you’re simply into arts and books I strongly recommend the hardcopy to have it in your house. It came wrapped, great condition, good quality. I am very happy with it
