It is very heavy unit and looks awesome. Only have used it one day will let you know how it holds up after a month or if I have any problems Kick loud and sounds great.

Bought the pair of sdr8’s and paired them with the skar 800.1 amp. I am very pleased with the sound these put out. Some people think I got 12s in the back of my suv. They hit hard and low

I rewired these to a 2 ohm load altho my Skar amp is more than capable of being stable at 1 ohm. All I have to say is they hit harderthen expected, I'm pushing around 700rms no clipping just nice hard hitting bass. These aren't SA so I'm not beating on them straight out the box, but they sound very good already. All in all very pleased with the output so far and they weren't expensive so a great value for the money.

I got this 8" box to replace a to 10"s bandpass I got that died on me. This thing is unbelievable loud. So loud that I'm getting some deadening matts for my trunk, because it keeps ripping the clips off on my rear deck plastic cover. Pair this with a good amplifier and you won't regretted. I took one star off for one reason. They come prewired for 1 Ohm from factory which is awesome if your amplifier is stable at 1 Ohm. Mine isn't so I have to disassemble the speakers and wired them so my amplifier can take them. EASY JOB thought, they have a link on their support page that tells you exactly how to wire them to fit your configuration. Strongly recommend!

Point of Diminishing Returns. Magnepan speakers require accurate subwoofers. I found the perfect budgeted remedy. I required sub-bass reproduction in my deticated listening room (18ft×8ft×38ft. Placing this subwoofer just behind the listening position proved optimal (opposite of an acoustic null). Theil-Small values meant applicable sealed use in the near field. I plugged the port with a large t-shirt for good measure. Magnepan speakers possess highly reactive components, making subwoofer pairing difficult. This subwoofer has excellent speed and signal tracking capability- making it the perfect candidate for sound quality. The two physical subwoofers have low moving mass (<60g), so transient response is high - very high. All you need is propper power. Regarding amplification, a Crown XlS1000/1002 running in bridged mode will do. Simply re-wire the subs to a 2ohm configuration (limit distortion using pro amplifiers). Overall this subwoofer is exceptionally transient in the near-field, providing ample sub-bass reproduction down to 25hz. Plenty for music. Only criticism is that the drivers make mechanical noise just slightly below its resonant frequency (37hz) - you'll have to triple your inventment to rid yourself of this. For that reason, this complete package is an economical means to warrant interest from even hifi owners. I've heard powered subs five fold the cost and would still choose this!

I replaced a 12" Skar Sub and box with these 8" subs in box last month because they fit in my S10 a little better. Using the same amp(Skar RP-800.1D, I can say it's just as loud. Skar Audio is the best for budget system builds. I run all Skar products in my ride. Besides the subs and amp, I also use a RP150.4AB to push the TX69 behind the seats, NPX56 and VX200ST in the front. Balanced out with their EQ and AMG 20ah battery. I hit 140db at my dash last week. *hint: if running these subs with the RP800.1D, set your gain at 26.4 volts. Too much gain will kill your investment.

One of the speakers have already blown. When it plays, there is distortion in the sound. Could you send me a replacements matching speaker instead of replacing the entire box

I have owned at least 30 subwoofers from various brands and in every size from 6.5" up to 18" and these two little 8's are absolutely impressive. I have a Toro R4 amp and I believe this is a perfect match for these subs. I've been trying to find something that was loud and sounded good in my mustang,but nothing quite seemed to sound great until I gave these subs a chance. Still breaking these subs in so I haven't turned up the power yet,but right from the get go, it was loud! I've never owned Skar products before,but these little subs are no joke. For some reason they hit low, I guess the box is perfectly matched, but I never expected such deep base from a pair of mid level 8's. I'm feeding the pair about 400w at the moment, so it'll be interesting when I match the output to their RMS rating of 700w (combined). Got these at a good price ($220) so if you can pick these up for a similar price, you will not be disappointed.

No joke, these darn well pound when you put the power to them. I never expected these to hit so hard in a JKU. Amplifer was a Toro R4 amplifer. The box fits the trunk of a JKU nicely giving you enough room for the freedom bag, tools, groceries, etc. If youre looking for a small package on a good budget, no joke at all, youre getting more than what you paid for!

I've had and, still have a lot of Skar products. Just like the rest, these things are awesome. You would never guess they are 8s. Easily comparable to a couple entry level 12s
