Astral Chain - Nintendo Nintendo Switch [Digital Code]

If you like games like Nier Automata and other hack and slash titles then I'll recommend this one. The controls when maneuvering both the player and chains using the joysticks will take some getting use to but it's easy once you figure it out. Story is OK and I enjoyed my time with it.

Fun game! Especially when it’s on sale

I bought this on a Black Friday sale at 26 USD. For a purchase out of the US, it was a great deal. The game is fun and has good mechanics. It has a silly-anime atmosphere that feels a little bit like watching a military mecha anime. The gameplay however feels innovative: you control two characters and use both of them for the hack and slash. It's tricky at first and there are quite different moves, but you get used to it. If you're into action games, this is an easy choice hands down.

This under valued game was definitely a miss for me , I always wanted to play the game and jumped into it the chance I got , its like dmc on drugs with the amount of combos you can do. Story is a big what you expect from a Japanese game but not too dull or cringy in my aspects of it so far(5 hours in) the real mvp is the combat system and boy does it shine.

Astral Chain is a 3D action game developed by Platinum Games exclusively for the Nintendo Switch (as of the time of this review). I wasn't too interested in this game at launch but brought it during a sale. Admittedly, the games controls took me awhile to get used to since you'll be controlling 2 characters at the same time. While the learning curve is high, I feel like it actually creates a better experience. Your main character is relatively new to the and their partner, so it makes sense that they'd have trouble working together. Oddly, I also had a lot of fun using my 2nd character's abilities to collect evidence and solve lesser issues. It really helped me feel like some kind of super detective. Not all of them are fun (I'm looking at you car moving puzzle) but the good outweighs the bad. The story is pretty exciting and has a lot of unique action set pieces but feels somewhat skimmed down. There were a bunch of moments where I felt that the story was missing something or left plot points underdeveloped. There's a character gallery that helps fill in some of the details but I'm still left with some questions and the story shouldn't leave relevant details in it's glossary and just assume you've read it. Tldr - 8/10 Overall, I like the game. The combat takes awhile to get the hang of but can feel pretty rewarding and the story is exciting if you just want an action romp and you aren't as pedantic as me. Pro Tip - play the game on "casual" mode at first and shift over "Pt Standard" when you feel like you got a handle on the controls.

Ok your controlling 2 characters at once using amine style fighting combat while unleashing sick combo's .... That right there should sell you on this Your character is customizable , you can create a combat style you enjoy and the music is dope .... Come on It's like DMC and Naruto had a kid and this game came out the fetus Plus we as a community should support more games like this that aren't monotized to death

Can be a bit overwhelming at first but when you become accustomed to the moveset and speed it's a blast. Great game for portable mode as well.
