Awesome computer for basic work from home tasks - super value
I just received it today, unpacked and turned on (plugged in the wifi adapter before turning on), the installation was smooth and fast, the computer looks like new, no scratches, nothing indicating its a refurb, and was up and running in 10 minutes or less. It is super-fast and everything works perfectly. I will try to update my review in one month. The wifi-adapter is only for 2.4gb, so i may need to buy and replace with a 5g, but its minor as i dont feel yet if it affects the speed. It also came with a display adapter to connect via hdmi, and works perfectly with my sceptre 23.8 monitor. i might need to buy another adapter for my second monitor. I will use this pc for remote log-in to my work's network. The pre-installed windows 10 pro works well; it is potentially upgradeable to windows 11 after switching to secure boot settings (instructions on windows11 website), but i dont need it yet. I am very satisfied with my purchase, for the price, its unbeatable. Update May 2022: 5 months later, still going strong. Works perfectly, very fast computer. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great computer!
These may or may not make decent desktop computers. I assume they don’t given the ridiculous requirements for desktop computers. However, if you’re a student or engineer that needs to build a test lab on the cheap, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better value. I built a rather sizable kubernetes cluster using these old optiplex computers. They’re reliable, the CPU(s) are fast enough, the SSDs are reasonably performant (for server applications), and there’s a good bit of RAM. Best of all, upgrading the drives and ram is dead simple and affordable. The only “complaint” I have is that I wish the vendor would give the option to choose the accessories that ship with the computer. Some of us don’t need another keyboard, mouse, usb Wi-Fi dongle, etc. Ot would be better for everyone if they kept the stuff I don’t need and sell it to someone that can use it.

Get what you pay for.
I usually use macs, but I had some windows programs I wanted to run, so I bought this. It works great with a few flaws. I think the cost outweighs the flaws but you can decide for yourself. 1) cannot activate windows. There is a code on the tower but it says that code has been used already. 2) power button was stuck and not working. I manage to pull the cover off and hit the power switch behind the button. 3) does not connect to blue tooth speaker. I’m not sure what the issue is. It works with my Bluetooth mouse (which has a plug in) but not my speaker (which does not have a plug in). 4) needs a display port to use HDMI so buy one of those. I’m happy to have this device and have saved so much money. People say it doesn’t come with a power cord but I found mine in the keyboard box, so check everything.

Complete Garbage
UPDATE: I still have NOT received a REFUND on this computer. I expect Amazon to do better!! The picture I'm including was taken when I opened the box. First of all, packaging was (sufficient) but far inferior to anything I have ever received from Amazon. Then the missing faceplate on the DVD drive was discovered and my initial thought after making sure it was not just loose somewhere in the shoddy packaging was to pack it back up and ask for a replacement. Instead I decided I could live with the appearance and loaded a couple of very basic programs. Instantly I noticed each of the programs I had previously loaded on other machines were taking an incredibly long time to download and install. Now I have a 1 GIG Internet Provider, so most computers run extremely fast on my network. However, when I ran a speed test on this computer the download speed was less than 30 mbps!! I tested it a couple of times and even on different servers thinking that it just wasn't possible the thing was going so slow and it had to be a mistake. But it never once even came close to 50 mbps, far short of the 350 mbps or near 1 GIG I get on all other computer systems I own. It is simply incredible that a computer so hyped and with 32 GIG RAM Memory using the I7 Processor can't perform as well as my oldest 2016 8 GIG laptop. You should also be warned that while the advertisement states the monitor connects by HDMI it honestly does not. They do include an adapter to make an HDMI connection possible. But an adapter is NOT a true HDMI connection. Same is true with the WIFI connection also requiring the use of an adapter and taking up one available USB port just to connect to the Internet. I do have to think that perhaps those two issues have some type of impact on the slow download and upload speeds. All that said, and after spending a few hours with the computer I ultimately packed it up and returned it for a refund. I would NEVER recommend this computer to anyone and instead state the 1 star rating I provided is actually too HIGH. So my recommendation is to stay far away from this computer, keep shopping and get something that works.

Good value if you know what you want
Based on some other, uninformed reviews (if I was also so uninformed), I might not have bought this. So a couple of points: Displayport is functionally equivalent to HDMI, and with an adapter, sends happy video out to HDMI monitors. My PC arrived with an HDMI-to-DP adapter, so I didn't have to procure one. Windows 10 was "real", all the USB ports worked, even the WIFI dongle was acceptable. No scratches or dents, I was up and running in an hour. People should have some idea what they are buying. These Optiplex systems are ubiquitous in corporate America. They are not gamer PCs. They are solid workhorses sitting in cubicles, waiting for that spreadsheet calc. With a few add-ons, you can make them into anything you want. I think the refurbs are pretty good deals, considering the cost overhead of a brand-new system. My new one (512G, 32G RAM, Core7 4-core) is used as a media center, to run a 65 inch TV showing movies and Hulu/Prime. Has iTunes, bittorrent, .along with some application development (VS), it handles all with nary a blip. 8TB from a Buffalo rounds out the config. Almost bought the bigger one with extra drive bays, but this is compact and can hide away nicely. A good deal.

Value for the money
A lot of bang for the buck. Bought this Dell Optiplex 7020 to replace warn out 7010. These refreshed older models are workhorses, likely from a business that has changed out to newer models. The PC arrived within 48 hours, powered up, and I was able to get to work within 30 minutes. Windows 10 makes the setup easy. I primarily use these systems for internet access and Microsoft 360 product. I prefer using a PC over laptop on daily basis - PC is a workhorse and can be booted up to go 24x7. I usually get 3 to 4 years service. These older refreshed models, you just can't beat it for the price and features vs buying a brand new comparable model that "might" give you 6 years of service at 6 or 7x the cost. When I owned my own business, I bought used Optiplex's for hundreds of employees - zero complaints. I've bought or owned at least 500 Dell Optiplex's over the last 22 years.

Great refurbished machine
This Desktop PC is just as described, it is even better than I expected. The ability to have three monitors is very cool. The 32GB RAM makes it screaming fast, loads in seconds. The hard drive size is adequate and I use cloud storage so it's not really needed anyway. The extras they sent with it were mostly trash, the keyboard and mouse were the cheapest I've seen in a long time. The Display Port to HDMI cable broke the first time I tried to use it, thankfully I had purchased 2 very nice ones in anticipation of this new computer arriving. The USB WiFi seems to work well for normal browsing and streaming but I am looking at running an ethernet cable to it because it seems to fail a lot on downloads and I think that is from the wifi dongle not being top quality. Overall for the price I paid I got a great desktop machine that is doing everything I want it to do with ease.

2nd system from this company with SSD Drive dying prematurely.
For a refurbished system, most of the internal hardware has been solid. I would rate this system higher, as the processor and amount of memory have been top notch, for the price range. However, the included no-named brand SSD Drive of questionable reliability and/or age, has died in less then 4 months. And this system replaced another system, from this specific company, that had the same problem of the included SSD drive dying in 14 months. A name brand SSD has lasted over 5 years and counting in my main system. So this is the second system from this company, with cheap no-name brand, back to back SSD Drives dying prematurely. I literally had a replacement drive sitting on my desk for the past week, and didn't get around to cloning and replacing the drive, before the SSD bricked. Not to mention the fact that the internal power connectors will not support a 2nd hard drive by unplugging the CD/ROM, requiring another computer to clone the drive. My advice: Replace the SSD drive ASAP, as it is a ticking time bomb. However, that seams to be the only weak point to this system, and a $30-$40 hard drive replacement makes the rest of this system perfect for casual users and internet surfers.
