Barrister and Mann Bay Rum Aftershave

There are a number of ingredients that aren't common in your standard Caribbean style Bay Rums and to me it is not "traditional" style. It is just OK smelling and once I use it up I won't be buying again. Suggestion to the manufacturer: Stick to the basics and don't change an age old recipe. Or if you do, call it something else but not Bay Rum. My .02

This is one of the best smelling Bay Rums I have come across and I've tried many. Has a classic Bay Rum scent with some citrus cutting through and a very light cinnamon scent. Really good stuff. This one and Phoenix Clasico are two of the best in my opinion.

Not my first rodeo when it comes to Barrister & Mann. I love their Bay Rum shave soap and wanted to diversify my aftershave scents (I love Pinaud Clubman typically), so I ordered the Bay Rum aftershave. You can imagine how disappointed I was when I received the aftershave BALM. The difference between the two is that what I ordered should have the same consistency as Clubman (a liquid splash) and what I received was more similar to a lotion…. I’ll probably take another chance at it (through a different retailer though) in the future, but I just need a little time to let my disappointment subside.

This is what the old time Italian barbers used when I was growing up. It brings back memories absolutely great. Fresh, manly, old school. Bracing.

This after shave has the most fresh, cleanest and best smell of any aftershave that I have ever used. There is a mild burn an tightening after shaving. However, my dislike about this aftershave is the longevity. It smells so good when you put in on and 10 minutes or less, there is NOT a trace of the scent left. I will NOT buy this aftershave again, because of this. Be nice if an aftershave with this scent could be made that would last an hour or so...

If you like a clove based aftershave this product will do. Seems to me that the cloying fragrance is just a little much. It is DEFINITIVELY NOT the classic Bay Rum which it purports to be. Another $20 down the drain and the search continues for the replacement for the ORIGINAL FORMULA Royall Bay Rhum.

Cloves with a tiny touch of bay rum. Highly overrated, closer to perfume than men's aftershave. To avoid strange men, I would wear this only when in company with my wife. Not to be confused with Dominica Bay Rum or St. Lucia Bay Rum, both sadly out of business.
