She has captured my heart and led me on a journey that shall stay with me for years! I started this book, unsure if it would live up to its predecessors, but my worries were in vain, thankfully. The characters were just as uniquely written as before, and there were plenty of twists and turns to keep me intrigued the whole time. I couldn't have changed a thing about it if I tried. The dragon heir is a unique tale, and it is a worthy purchase. I am sure that I'll be rereading it in years to come simply to read my beloved character's stories again. Review: Great third book of the series - I liked the way each book took on the life of each person in the previous book

Finally, a story without lurid sexual descriptions through the book.
I am in my 60's and while this book is for teens, I've enjoyed reading this series as there are no steamy sexual descriptions. I get so tired of reading a really good book only to come across many sexual scenes, so to speak. Sex does nothing to enhance a story line for me yet it seems every author includes it in their work. So, as a prudish old woman, I'll keep reading books written for minors. It was a good story, very few if any grammatical errors. Only complaint is that it is quite short & very expensive for a short story.

Very happy
I was very happy with the way the book arrived. I had to purchase each book from the series separately. The other books did not come in as good as shape as this one.

Conclusion to the trilogy is great!
The Dragon Heir finishes up the trilogy in exciting fashion! This storyline does move a little slower than the previous two books, but that doesn't take away from the readability of it. This book brings everything to a close that the first two books left open, finally solving many of the problems that our hero characters have been facing. There are several emotional ups and downs throughout this book, and I couldn't put it down. A must read!

Book 3 is great, stop here. Books 4/5 are a road to disappointment.
You can tell that the series was originally written as a trilogy. Books 4 and 5 are glommed on as an afterthought. In the fashion of Harry Potter, Twilight, and Hunger Games, books 4 and 5 are actually a single story that are divided into two parts. The worst part is that one of the main new "features" (Zombies) is left as an unfinished thread at the end of the book in case she wants to come back and write more books. For the Zombies / Shades to play such a pivotal role in these books and then to not wrap up that storyline at the end felt very incomplete and dissatisfying. Do yourself a favor, stop at book 3.

Not signed as pictured
Book is in great condition, however, it is not a signed copy as pictured. My son is happy for the book, but a bit disappointed he didn't get one of his favorite authors signature.

I wish there were half stars. I'd give this a 4.3 probably but given that it's a very good ending to the trilogy I felt a 5 would push my overall average rating to a 4. (I'd give 3 and 4 to the first two books)
