Replaced a 70 year old version that wore out. Only complaint was that there were no schematics or diagrams included. A quick google search gave me lots of options.

Works as it should great price

The quality of the item looks good but!.......there are no instructions! Of course the main wiring to the motor is pretty basic, but it is not clear on how to wire the pressure switch from the compressor.

Installation was easy. Works well. I shopped around. This was the best offers by far. The only shortcoming is that the box is not weather proofed for outdoor use, so I had to purchase a weather proof enclosure at the Home Depot and install it inside. It added $25 to the total cost and required drilling holes to connect the electrical conduits and wires.

Once I figured out the wiring, and drilled a hole and added a low amp on / off switch, this was exactly what I needed to feel confident in my air compressor running whenever I needed it to. Nice solid "CLICK" when it calls for pressure. I feel like this will last a long time.

So this expensive "relay" doesn't come with instructions. That's OK, I'll just go by how the terminals are marked. Whoops, none of the terminals are marked! I hate to admit it, but I actually installed the thermal cut off backwards at first. Yes it will actually work that way. So make sure the stamped "40" is facing you when you screw it into place, which again, no instructions. I had to hook up a low amperage 240vac power supply to its terminals to see which operates the relay/contactor. Message to Square D, how much would a half a sheet of paper with a diagram cost you to add? You really can't afford it? Anyway only 3 stars because it's a lot of money for a relay. I wish you still made the 5HP pressure switch that I needed to replace after almost 50 years, then I wouldn't have had to add this part to it.

Yes this item is made in China, BUT it is to square D specs. Heaters are cheap failsafe, compared to burned up non replaceable electronic resets found on most other brands. Used in conjunction with a pressure switch on a 5hp air compressor.

Switch itself is excellent. Didn't come with the necessary jumpers though which a previous one I installed had. There also aren't any diagrams to label the terminals in the schematic. Had to consult YouTube go get it wired properly. Once installed it works fine though.
