Absolutely excellent design, quality and, best of all, customer service!
I did have some difficulty prior to beginning assembly. I took all the parts out of the box and laid them out so I could ensure I had everything. I found a little note from Mr. David Taylor. He is the President, CEO, Owner, or something of that stature, and the note welcomed personal notes from the customer if anything at all was wrong. so, I sent an email to him and immediately (about an hour later) got a reply. My question was regarding how well the "walls" of the "stop-sign" shaped internal compartment sealed against the mating walls of the same shaped base unit. All the bricks and sand are placed in the top (upside-down) and the base is then screwed into the top before turning it up to install the receptacle for the umbrella pole. He assured me it worked, and it did. I also had a self-inflicted issue with the brick purchase. I wrote down the dimensions of the recommended bricks and went to Lowe's & Home Depot to find twelve. The bricks they had were red clay and looked like the "old brick" that the instructions suggest. But they were smaller than the dimensions by 1/4" to 1/2". So I went home empty bricked. After calling around, I re-looked at the instructions and noticed for the first time the word "Max..." at the beginning of the brick specifications. Ooooh. My mistake. Gotta read the directions carefully, including adjectives. So I went to a local masonry company and found a stack of left-over red bricks. They too were smaller than the MAXIMUM size, but guess what? Sand goes into larger cracks just as easily as smaller ones. Once I had everything bought (I got a 50# bag of "Play Sand" and used about 60% of it, and the requisite 12 bricks), and laid out on an old blanket along with my trusty electric screwdriver, it took me less than an hour to assemble. And I am no bricklayer or skilled assembler - as you may note from the above paragraph. There was a previous review where the person discussed how it was hard to maneuver it to install the umbrella pole receptacle. My wife and I both have bad backs, but I did exactly as the instructions instruct, and the unit easily turned onto its edge with the blanket making it a smooth effort. My wife steadied it and held the receptacle while I fastened it from the other side. Done!! Another word in the instruction pamphlet was "...set" in the illustrated parts list where the "reducer" was listed. My umbrella pole was 1.75" diameter (actually slightly larger). The only reducer I found was a 1.50" piece, already placed into the receptacle so dummies like me could visualize how it is installed. Uh oh, I need 1.75" or larger! I dug around for several hours to see if I missed some receptacles when emptying the box. I finally sent an email to David and, again, almost instantly got a reply that he apologized deeply for not having the reducer SET in the package, and he would have it shipped to me first thing the next morning. So I cleaned things up and installed my umbrella in the sloppy-fit stand just to see how it looked. After cleaning things up, I happened to walk by where I had the box and wrappings. "Uh oh" once again. I leaped for the email and fired off a mea culpa note to David, saying I just found a three-receptacle SET laying right where the box was tossed during my search. I told David I would pay for the shipping if he already had it sent, and apologized to him. He instantly replied to me that he caught it in time and it was not sent - and then thanked me for my note. The Shademobille base rolls perfectly on our not-so-perfectly-level wooden deck. It has the 125# version of weight. Our 11' three panel umbrella works perfect in the base. We have a lot of wind here, and the base holds the umbrella with a strong grip and no slop (the Velcro hook that comes with the kit really does wonders). The quality of the unit both design-wise and workmanship is five-star. I am so pleased about the product design, its quality, and now, my experience in customer service extraordinaire. Just so you know: I researched literally dozens of competing umbrella bases, and had a high recommendation for the Shademobile from my brother-in-law and his wife (who works at a library and did significant research as well). We all learned that David Taylor has The Winner in his Shademobile® product and his excellent service.

The Only Umbrella Base to Consider
Guess what? The sun moves in the sky throughout the day. A lot. Why would you ever by an umbrella base with no (or even only 2) wheels? I find that I constantly have to move my 11' umbrella around. Imagine you have a 9', or even an 8' umbrella! You want to be mobile, trust me. It was almost impossible finding an umbrella base that was both heavy and easy to move. Luckily I found Shademobile. This base is fantastic. It is heavier than almost any other base (when filled with sand and brick as instructed) and rolls with easy. It seems very sturdy. It is easy to fill and assemble. It has brakes, and it looks great, especially with a bronze umbrella pole. My only complaints are that it can be fairly difficult to move to left to right, so often it takes a fair amount of maneuvering to get it to the exact spot I want. Also, even taking into account the excellent quality, it is pretty pricey for what it is. With so few alternatives I still consider it to be worth. May look into getting the matching pole table down the road too.

Fantastic product!!
Needed a umbrella base that would withstand wind! My other bases sometimes couldn't withstand the wind by my house. Not that strong of a wind, but strong enough to blow the umbrella over. I even use bricks on one of the bases to keep it from going over. But this on is great so far! I talked to a rep from the company and he recommended using a type of brick that would be heavy (he was so helpful and called back fast). I tried the big garden stores but their brick did not weigh enough to bring it up to 130lbs that I wanted. Found them in a local hardscape store and they were just the right weight. If you follow the directions in the right order it is simple to assemble. Simple, but not easy because of the weight. Between the sand and the bricks it is super heavy. Followed the directions and other reviewers advice and it turned out great. My husband and I are over 70 and we were able to complete it. It was assembled quite near to where it was going to be positioned. It can be moved, but it is heavy. I do love it so far. Our new umbrella is bigger then our old one and although it stands independent from a table it has never been blown over. The price was very good considering how heavy it is. Other stands that would be good enough were priced three times as much. Would highly recommend this product.

Perfect - durable and wind proof
Love this! Very durable. We have had it for two years and it still looks new. It rolls easily over the patio so we are able to stay in the shade all day long. And I have never run over my toes or hurt my feet! Great safety. We have a lot of high wind days and high wind warnings here and I never have to bring in the umbrella. Our previous stand fell over in high winds so I constantly needed to bring it indoors to save it. Now I just make sure the umbrella is tied shut and lock the wheels on this awesome stand. It stays outside with no worries! We have had 50 mph winds and this stand stays put. (Once I left the umbrella open with the wheels unlocked and effectively created a sail. It had a great time sailing over the patio with its smooth wheels. Lesson learned! Lock the wheels!) We filled the base with small rocks. It was awkward to screw the base together but that was the only maintenance it ever needed. This was an investment, but glad I decided to spend the money. Funny how the right equipment can make such a huge difference. We really enjoy our patio now.

Almost perfect for seven years
Very good quality. Bought in 2018. One of the brakes started going after about a year. The second one a few years later. Now just this week the front wheels have lost their rubber and while happening leaving black marks on my pool deck. I’m going to see if we can replace the front wheels which rotate 360 making this very easy to maneuver even when full of pea gravel. Not too bad for almost seven years. I also love the ability to hold bigger diameter posts. AMENDED: ordered all four wheels from the manufacturer. Maybe I'll get another seven years from this quality product. Cheers.

We have a large wood balcony with two umbrella's to keep the sun off of our sitting areas. We also have a jacuzzi. What we really needed was a gazebo given how hot it gets in Southern Ontario. However, a gazebo would block the stars at night, which is unfathomable. Having sturdy moving umbrellas is THE BEST. We did the heaviest filling, given it's a balcony and can catch some wind. It does take a little bit of muscle to get them to start rolling, but once they start they are very easy to move and very sturdy. I am very very pleased with my purchase. I bought 1 to start to make sure they were worth the cost. They are! I purchased the second one last week and got it set up on the weekend. I'm so happy with this solution.

This is going to be a great solution for my north facing upper deck, and 11' market umbrella in a windy location. Going with the heaviest option, I filled this stand with 12 bricks and "traction" sand. I wasn't sure I'd be able to flip it over once it was full, but I got it together in about 40 minutes, without any assistance. I love that it is wheeled so I can move it around, and it is made from a sturdy plastic that I think will hold up to Canadian conditions. It's windy today, already I can tell that this is a much better stand for this umbrella than the one I had, it is way more stable, and I'm sure it will be the last stand I ever need to purchase. Wish I had found it in the first place.

Easy to assemble. Easy to line with bricks to give the 90 lb weight. rolls great on cement pad. Locking wheels holds it steady and even with pretty good wind gusts, sturdy base. The umbrella looked like it was going to break before the base looked like it was going to tip.

It's well built and holds various sizes of umbrellas. Once installed, there is no tipping as the base is so heavy. Internally house wheels work well. I have patio stones so you have to help it roll over edges but that's my surface not the unit.

Assembly is relatively simple but it takes a full hour to set it up initially with bricks (which I had) plus washed sand (half hour trip to box store) but once done it will be "forever". When filling with ballast the top is flipped over and the flat base with the wheels is set aside and screwed into place after the ballast is in the top. Without an electric drill (recommended) to drive the 30 or so long screws (bit and screws supplied) it would be tedious and tiring. A second pair of hands is needed at the very end to secure the post with 4 screws while balancing the base on a side. Then the entire stand is turned onto its wheels and ypou are ready to go. It comes with a variety of bushings to fit different size umbrella posts. Incredibly stable but a bit more difficult to manoeuvre than videos show but overall a good product that does what it claims to do. Fully satisfied. I can now direct shade almost anywhere I want to from the pool deck into the pool which we needed as we lost two 80 foot spruce shade trees to storms last year.
