I have an iMac Pro (2017, retina, 27", base memory 8GB) that I like except for the memory - it's too slow, and gets jammed up if I've opened too many programs. With great trepidation, I read the Apple specs to see what memory I should get to upgrade, found that the local shops didn't have much on hand, and decided to do it myself. The directions seemed straightforward, but this isn't my strong suit, and my hands aren't particularly strong, so I didn't know if I could remove the original memory or seat the new memory. I ordered a set of two 16GB memory chips for this model, and waited until someone was around in case something went awry who might be able to assist. Apple's explanation was very clear about how to add memory. I also read reviewer comments to see what problems others had encountered. The only hitch was in pushing the button to open the memory compartment - that needed more pressure from an implement other than my finger (e.g., a small screwdriver). I decided to try using the two empty slots, leaving the old 4GB chips in place, since it would still be balanced, and put the chips in (easily), closed up, put the cables back and the machine upright, and voila! It worked! my iMac is much quicker, and so far it hasn't frozen or "jammed up", so I'm very pleased with these chips. They have made a noticeable, welcome change, and I'm not feeling like such a klutz!

Using this ram kit, I upgraded my base model 2019 iMac from 8Gb of Ram to 32Gb. I like that it's Mac approved ram. It was easy to install, thanks to the little door on the back of the 27" iMac. 32Gb is a good amount of Ram I believe for this system and the types of software I use. Sketch, Adobe xD, Garage Band, Safari. I can run many things at once and things run smoothly. I keep an eye on my Ram usage with iStat Menus. A nice price for the Ram compared to what Apple charges.

9-4-25. I've had these for only a couple of days and have no problems. My Photoshop and Lightroom Classic programs have gotten so big that they were crashing my 2020 imac. The 8 gigs it came with couldn't handle the programs anymore. I installed these 2-16 gig cards along with the 2-4 gig cards that came with the system. I left the original 4 gig cards in slots 1 and 3 and put these in 2 and 4 as recommended by the interweb. The machine fired right up and I've had no issues so far with the programs. From 8 gigs to 40. If anything goes sideways I'll update this review.

Got these to replace the RAM in my 2019 iMac (27inch). Did wonders for my computer's speed and overall functionality. Very easy to put in yourself, too, if your computer can do that.

I went from 16GB RAM to 32GB. Mac is significantly slower than with the original sticks. I am suspicious as to if this RAM is actually compatible as stated in the description. I was troubleshooting for a few weeks while I had free time, but time got away from me and it in now ineligible for a refund. That part is my fault but be careful about ordering for Mac.

This went into my 2019 5K 27" iMac (the base model for $1799). It came with 8GB of RAM (2 sticks of 4GB each). I took those out and inserted these two in its place, plus I added 16GB more (2 sticks of 16GB each) in the other slots (also Crucial brand). Everything went perfectly and I now have 48GB of very fast RAM, which should last me 3-4 years (based on my needs/usage). The installation was very quick and easy! I don't know why some reviewers are having such a hard time, it's compatible all right! Maybe they're not seating them in correctly?

Easy install. After you install and you power back on be patient. It takes about 30-45 seconds to go from a black screen to the start up page. Also make sure you have all peripherals unplugged from back of computer. The first time I did the re-boot it did not work with them plugged in. It work fine after i disconnected them.

Tengo una imac 27” 5k y en la página de mac es confuso si soporta 32 o 64gb de Ram. Ya que el procesador es 3.0 Ghz. Investigando descubrí que es interpretación y si se lee literal anuncia la página un máximo escalable de 64gb. Y en la caja del imac dice claramente que soporta 64 Ram. Eso esclarece totalmente las dudas. Micron es la marca de Crucial y hace las mejores memorias del mundo, mi sorpresa fue que al instalarlas observé que las que tenía mi imac de fábrica son la misma marca Micron. Pff excelente compra, las mismas que venden originales pero a un mejor precio. Al instalarlas puse las de 16 en los slots donde venían las de 4 y las de 4 las puse en los slots vacíos, quedando 4-16-4-16 y funciona de maravilla. Detectó los 40 Ram de inmediato, compatibilidad total. Las recomiendo ampliamente!
