Easily the best TV at the ~£500 price range.
Update 1: After a couple weeks of use, it's clear to see the operating system of this TV's smart functions (netflix, prime etc) are just really bad, there's no other word for it. If you suffer from a "laggy" netflix experience, there's something I found you can do to fix it. 1) Factory reset the TV in the settings menu 2) When restarted, update immediately. It won't stop everything from lagging as I think that's a processing issue you can probably return the TV for, but it will iron out any software issues you're facing. Original Review: If you're not too familiar with technology and just want the best picture quality for the price, here's all you need to know. This TV has three main technologies inside of it. They're called: HDR10+ (up to 1000nits of brightness) Dolby Vision (up to 10,000nits of brightness!) Dolby Atmos (for sound quality) The resolution is 4K (otherwise known as "Ultra HD"/UHD). HDR10+ and Dolby Vision basically help balance colours and the image on the screen so you're always getting the best picture quality possible. If you're scratching your head wondering which one is better, the answer is pretty simple - it depends on what you're watching. You have HDR10+ Light/Dark and Dolby Vision Light/Dark (4 options total). Although barely any shows supports Dolby Vision to the fullest, it's capable of pushing out 10x the brightness over HDR10+ so on paper it is the best option. But again, it depends on the quality of what you're watching. Planet Earth on Netflix has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, so if you get this TV you can bounce between the options and see which one you like better. Not everything supports this imaging technology but 90% of the newer stuff coming out (movies, netflix... etc) are all supporting at the minimum HDR10+. Dolby Atmos on a TV is kind of pointless as if you're actually interested in good quality audio, you'd buy your own 5.1 system. Dolby Atmos, when switched on, is basically when you're sitting in a cinema and you can hear the audio come from different corners the of room based off what's happening on screen. It's a nice addition to have if you got some good headphones, but I would recommend getting a good 5.1 that supports Dolby Atmos or at the very least, a somewhat decent soundbar. Ambilight is a little gimmicky but it's a fun part of the TV, worked great for me when I saw the Playstation 5 reveal though. It really does add to the experience sometimes. The patent on it is running out so there will probably be a good number of TV's coming out with their own version of it in a couple years. The remote control is pretty standard and the smart features are almost all there, though the software can lag or crash sometimes. For the £349 I bought this TV for (50" version), it is absolutely 100% worth it. This TV is good enough for you to pretty much skip the £500 - £1000 gap as long as you're okay with the slightly patchy backlighting. If you want a serious TV above the £1000 mark, take a look at "OLED TV's". Hope this helps. If you found this helpful, please hit the "HELPFUL" button below. It'll really help me too. :) Five stars. Amazing TV. Love the Ambilight feature.
Love this TV. I struggle to watch the TV with no light on in the room. My husband likes to watch the TV in the dark. When I saw this I though it was fantastic for us. We can have a dark room but the ambilight behind the TV that lights up the wall behind means I don’t get a headache staring at the screen in a dark room. Seems silly but a total game changer to me. The TV is really easy to use and I think the picture quality is great. Fantastic price too. Absolutely love and would 100% buy another.

Great quality and good value TV
I am very impressed. 4k picture quality with Sky Q is great. Sound from the TV is good when I try it but usually use home cinema set up. Ambi light is a good feature. I tend to switch it off using the remote button during day light. It looks great at night time. I like the party mode when playing music with the kids.

Great TV for the price, not perfect but has some great features
I’d been looking to buy a TV for quite a while and after a fair bit of research I decided to pull the trigger on this for the price and features it has. First off, the picture quality is absolutely gorgeous, I had to tune the settings a bit to get the optimal picture though. HDR 10+ can look quite dull on some titles which I found annoying as I never have that issue with Dolby vision. The sound quality of the built in speakers is quite bad, very tinny with dull bass. That shouldn’t be an issue for most people as sound bars are popular nowadays and I’d recommend pairing this with a good set of speakers too. The smart software is buggy and unresponsive it was bearable until paired it with an amazon fire stick 4K. Onto my favourite feature, ambilight. It really is immersive, I was sceptical at first and thought it was just a gimmick but it is very accurate and amplified the experience incredibly, I’ll never go back to a normal TV again. Only thing I’d like is for the light to completely shut off in very dark scenes to give a sense of darkness. Lastly, I’d recommend this TV to anyone on a budget who wants some great features for a good price, it’s worth buying a couple of extras (firestick 4K, good set of speakers) to get the full experience out of it. You won’t be disappointed.

Great TV.
Great product, brilliant for gaming and movie night. Sometimes slow to respond to the remote, just give it time (button bashing doesn't help!) Only problem, cant download apps on it, no Disney +, which is a bit of a nuisance. Good value when we bought it at just over £300.

Ambilight definitely worth the extra
Absolutely love the ambi-light feature on this TV and the picture quality is brilliant (once I played about with it a bit to get the settings right). I would definitely recommend the tv. TV sound is quite quiet so we just bought a soundbar from Amazon and it did the trick. Only thing this TV is missing is the disney+ app on the smart TV otherwise it's perfect.

Defective and poor design
Received the TV in good time. Set it up which seemed to work OK. Then unplugged it and moved it to a different part of the room. Plugged it back in, switched it on and nothing happened. Then we noticed the standby light kept going on and off. We tried taking the batteries out of the remote in case a button was sticking. Didn't make any difference. We finally managed to get it to stay on but it would not connect to the wireless router, which was in the same room and working fine. It kept saying no networks available. We watched some live TV for a bit and switched it off again. Then when switching it back on, the same problem occurred with the TV switching itself on and off. We gave up at this point and requested to return the item the day after receiving it. The remote is designed badly. The buttons are not separated so it's easy to press the wrong button unless you have really tiny fingers. It isn't the easiest to figure out the TV. On initial setup, the TV gives you very little assistance so you're left guessing what needs setting up. The Ambilight is probably the only good feature about this TV. I ordered an LG 49" from Curry's and it's brilliant. Worked immediately, connected to the Internet etc. The setup assistance as fantastic and the app screen is much better - you can move the apps round in whatever order you wish and you can easily access the store to download more apps. The remote is much better as the buttons are separated. Same price as this Phillips TV. Get the LG! You'll only be sacrificing the Ambilight feature, depends how much you want it.

calidad superior
