A fantastic 5 megapixel endoscope that is well worth the money!
After giving away my older Depstech endoscope model to a friend who was adding new ceiling fixtures, I decided I was entitled to a new one! Depstech has done it again and I am so pleased with new model which provides a much higher resolution and clearer image with that allows you see up to one feet in pipes etc (depending on lighting) thanks to its much-improved optics and LED. The extended internal battery (2600 mAh) promises use for up to a 3-4 hours, though with a micro-USB input, usage time can be limitless. Usage is very simple - simply download the free Depstech app from the appstore/playstore, switch the device on and connect to it as if though it is a wifi network/router. You will get the same three attachments that Depstech provide by convention with their other endoscopes (magnet, hook and mirror). The thumbwheel control for LED is extremely useful, and at the right distance, aids focus too. This newer model comes with a bright yellow and semi-rigid wand, and like others is also waterproof, which means it can be used in water pipes and tanks without a problem. The size of the screen is only limited to the size of your device (i.e. from a phone to a large-screen tablet/TV casting). All in all, I am extremely pleased with Depstech endoscopes and so far this device offers the best resolution from previous devices - which are still excellent too. Depstech customer service is fantastic; this is a company that really looks after their customers and quickly respond to queries and concerns. This newer yellow Depstech model is an incredible piece of kit and one that you will be very excited to show off to friends who may also appreciate how convenient it is compared to even the rental costs of other endoscopes.

Good quality camera for the price
Had no problem with the camera. Connected to my phone easy enough and worked as expected. Picture quality is pretty good given the nature of the tiny camera. The cable is fairly rigid - which obviously has its plus points and minus points depending on where you're trying to poke it. Haven't really used it in anger yet, but it seemed like a useful sort of tool to have around (many's the time I've wished I had such a thing for looking behind plasterboard or under floors). The main unit has a rechargeable battery and has a reasonable range (not that you'd have your phone very far from it). The camera has a bright led on the end, which is a must if using in a dark place obviously. The brightness adjustment (on the main unit) is via a small thumb wheel which isn't perfect but works well enough. Haven't tested how waterproof it is but it claims IP67 (assuming this is just the camera) so should in theory be good in 1m depth of water without issue. Would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that the accessory tools were missing. To be fair the seller did send a set when I contacted them - unfortunately these didn't fit (different screw thread). Having seen them I'm not going to pursue it further as they're not quite as good as I anticipated (tiny plastic hook, mirror and magnet to go on the end of the camera). I summary, very happy with the camera, just a little niggle with the accessory kit.

Honest review..
So I don't normally write reviews but it did help with buying this product. I have a Samsung phone 3 years old and found app was easy to use and product connected easily. Camera is good quality 👌 and is great close up.i found the cable is sturdy and can be manipulated with keeping its shape ie doesn't go floppy.. Iam a plumber who needs it for seeing under floors and down waste pipes and although not used it on a job it seems to cover this. Obviously you won't see anything under water no matter how good a camera u have unless still and crystal clear, so not a drain. I have read reviews on here moaning about this but we have 6k camera at work that cannot see under water in drains !! App has recording and still shot facilities and this is very helpful . So on the down side the lights are not really bright enough to see very far in the dark but this is not a massive issue. All in all a good product for the money and so far iam impressed . We do need to remember it's around £40 !! Not £400 I do need to use for a while to see how it is over long period but after a day messing about round the house all is good. I hope this helps.

Good quality, perfect for engine inspection
Used to help diagnose an engine issue. The camera fits easily down a spark plug hole and the built-in light is bright enough to light up the cylinder, the camera also adjusts exposure automatically which is nice. I previously had a cheaper USB borescope camera and the main reason for upgrading was the low image quality and poor LED light which this unit solved. The fact is connects through WiFi is also great as I no longer have to worry about disturbing my phone while operating the camera. The WiFi connection is easy enough, you just need to make sure you tell android to ignore the lack of internet access otherwise it will disconnect. That's all explained in the instructions though. The app is basic but works well. The only thing about the camera I think needs improvement is the mirror attachment. I attached 1 photo showing the view of the top of the cylinder which I had to use the mirror for and as you can see the mirror only shows a small amount of the view, the rest is reflections from elsewhere. Both the picture and video quality are excellent as you can see in the photos. The focus range is ideal and the videos I took using the mirror attachment showed the cross-hatching in the cylinder wall very clearly.

Unimpressive picture quality. Low build quality. Very easy to setup though.
Good product for quick inspections but its a very low build quality (As you'd expect from the price) and gives unimpressive pictures. It is very easy to connect to your phone or PC (+) but there is no internal gyro or any indication of which way its pointing so its not the easiest to use. It has a large camera - Around 10mm - so you're going to need a big hole to shove it through.

Better than I expected
I got a lightening deal on this so paid just over £30 - about £15 cheaper than original price. I'm not sure I'd have been quite so pleased with this if I'd paid top whack. But in terms of picture quality it's a lot better than I expected. See my attached pic - this is a screen grab from the video I took probing the camera into the void between 1st floor ceiling and loft floor, trying to look at water pipes and shower tray waste pipes. The setup is really easy - I have a Huawei P20 Lite running Android 9. All I did was take the camera assembly out of the box, read the little instruction booklet, download an app on Google Play store, install it, switch on the unit, go to Settings/Wifi on the phone and find the wifi network created by the camera assembly itself, connect to that network, then fire up the app, tap the 'start' button in the app, and everything started working. There aren't really that many features in the app - I was a little disappointed it wasn't possible to zoom/change the focal length of the camera.... the listing on Amazon says "Camtele expands the usual focal distance from 3 inch to 16 inch, larger observation scope generated" - I think what that probably translates to is that they've opened up the field of view so you can navigate the camera more easily. But it doesn't mean there's any option to adjust the focal length - there's a distinct area of "good focus" which is basically about 3 inches or so: anything that distance from the camera is pretty sharp and focused, but anything closer or further away is more blurred. It's good enough for looking in ceiling voids, but probably not as useful in really really confined spaces where things are never more than really close, or in large voids where things are all further away from the camera. The black box of the camera assembly has an on/off switch (self-explanatory) and also a little thumbwheel which controls the level of illumination of the 6 leds on the end of the camera - adjusting this brightness really helps improve the picture quality depending on how dark or light the location you're inspecting is. The app allows you to record videos, or take photos. On my phone they end up being stored in the built-in storage in the DCIM camera folder, under a subfolder called DEPSTECH. Each movie or photo file end up in a subfolder below that - each time you do a recording it seems to create a new subfolder for that 'session'. It's possible to view all your recordings and photos from within the app, too. NB the movie files are of type ".AVI" - not all video viewers on Android support this filetype, but an app like MX Player will cope with it fine. The yellow wire to which the camera is attached is quite rigid, but this is sensible as you can deform it into a rough shape that then retains its shape as you poke the whole thing into the space you're inspecting. I guess a more useful thing would be to have some way of moving/steering the camera end using threads or finger loops (like surgeons do in operating theatres) but you'd end up paying way more for the whole thing if it had this. It takes a bit of getting used to in terms of which way is "up" when you poke the camera into the void... and steering it/guiding it takes practice because the instinctive thing to do when viewing the picture on the phone is to move the phone! I found it useful to put the phone in a little tripod and attach that somewhere nearby so I could use both hands to manipulate the camera assembly. All in all, I can see this is going to be a very useful bit of kit. But I don't think I'd have been inclined to buy it if it was full price.

Excellent, value-for-money product that has outperformed it's predecessors
This is my fourth endoscope. They get worked rather hard and generally lose focus after about 6-months. I specialise in high-end cable installation and need tools such as this to navigate the magical hidden routes through beautiful buildings to lay unseen cables required for network related products, be them CCTV cameras, Wireless Access Points, some type of Home Automation device or other. Sadly my last endoscope got stuck under a floorboard and was beheaded and is sadly no more. It is like the Parrot (Monty Python fans will understand the reference - to everyone else, it's simply dead.) This latest camera on a long lead, that I am reviewing here now, is the best one I have purchased to date. There are many positives points to bring to one's attention 1. It is far more rigid than previous models. Despite claims seen before, this is the real deal and can be positioned further without the need of rods or some form of conduit. 2. It appears to have a more practical focal length and keeps the image in focus. 3. The resolution is greater. This does not always mean that the clarity of the image will be better but in this case I can say that it does provide a better detailed image in varying light conditions. Better than it's predecessors. 4. The battery life is also impressive and one can get a decent amount of fact finding done before it's goodnight from him and goodnight from me. (For any British Classic Comedy Fans, that was a Two Ronnie's reference) # Would I recommend this ? Yes # Would I buy this again? Probably but I'm always looking for better products particularly when it comes to cable installation work. This is certainly a very respectable tool worthy of a place in my ever-expanding toolkit. I do have my eye on the new Wi-Fi Ferret being sold by Super Rod. I must confess to being a huge Super Rod fan and have many of their products. This product however is a fraction of the price of the Super Rod Wi-Fi Ferret, but hope to get the opportunity to test the Ferret soon. (Amazon or Super Rod - if you are listening..... 😀)

Doesn't works without registration. Then collect a customer's data
I do not recommend the device. Collects data about users. Does not work without registration. I spent half an hour installing and running the device on the iPhone 13 for max. Another hour trying to do the same on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Unfortunately, I have to say that without agreeing to the collection of information from your phone and then registering your email, the device will not work. Maybe it's good quality, but I won't give him access to my phone. You have the option to skip registration, but even when connected to a WiFi device, this device will not work for you. Unfortunately. I return. However, the app has a rating of 2.6 on the Apple store. It says the app doesn't collect data, but your account does.

Model: WF028 - Absoluter Schrott! Finger weg!
