Update review - Exceptional customer service - I basically 'wore out' my counter, used it hundreds of times for over two years. The band broke early in 2021. I sent it back to the company to have it replaced ($15). They also replaced the battery at no additional charge. I received the unit and after a few uses, it stopped working. I contacted the company and they sent me a replacement NEW unit! What company does that?!! I highly recommend the SC Sportcount. A great company behind the great product. Previous review written in 2019 - I have now been using the timer for over a year which represents about 100 sessions. Once I got used to the button, it was easy to use. A bit tricky at the end of the last lap of a session to stop the timing for the session. But I like the function of total time, average lap time and individual lap times. Not bulky on the finger. Doesn't interfere with the stroke. Would buy again.

Fits well: snug but not too tight, totally adjustable. Thumb button works fine, counter and timer very dependable... Except when I forget to push the button or brainlessly push it on the half-lap. I like that I can just zen out and listen to my music library with my Shokz headset and not have to focus on keeping track of laps (75 each morning = 1 mile). The timer has definitely improved my workout as it creates a goal for me (under a minute AVG each lap). This was a big upgrade to my swim routine.

Have used it 3 times now. No leaks or shorts or other failure problems. Device appears quite sound, solid, and waterproof. Band fits snugly on my forefinger, no indication of it ever dropping off. I have more concerns about my wedding ring slipping! Streamlining is fine. Was concerned it would be a big bulky thing on my finger and add drag. Nope, it's pretty cool. Button is easy to hit with my thumb on the turn. Have only had one misfire where I apparently hit it in the middle of the lap. Possibly I whacked the lane marker; I was sharing the lane. But, as the instructions tell you, it's pretty easy to see where you missed count by observing your lap time (20 seconds for 50yd? Cool! Doubtful tho.) and adjust your records. It is very simple and easy to use. I still need the instructions to figure out how long to press it to get it to summarize, but I expect I'll learn it in time. It does not do a million different things like, say, my Garmin bike computer. It counts laps and the duration of the lap. You'll have to develop your own procedures if you're going to swim 10x100 with breaks in between. You can use this device to stay on top of your numbers, just maybe pay attention and avoid your break being about the same time as your lap time; make your break shorter or longer, then you can see it easily during the summary. Anyway, I'm happy with my purchase. This thing is cool, and really has helped me keep track of my laps on mile swims and reduced my time from when I was messing around with my wristwatch to track laps.

Anyone else lose count when doing laps after 5? I typically do about 45 laps, so keeping count was a problem. While I'm no longer training for competitions, I still want to track my distance. This is super easy and so comfortable on my finger I often don't feel it after a lap. I like how it will show the fastest and slowest laps. This way I know if I skipped a lap. The battery life is also great. I've had mine for well over a year and it still has a full battery.

I have used other versions of this product for oh, I don't know, more than a decade anyway. They usually last 5-7 years before the battery weakens and the device gets flaky. Up to this one, I've had no real problems that I would attribute to poor manufacturing. This one was not up to spec. I got it, examined it, tried it dry so I'd know how it functions before I took it to do laps. Then, when I got to the pool, I checked it again, zeroed it out and starting my swim. To my surprise, when I finished, there was no read out AT ALL. Blank. Inert. Non-functioning. Couldn't start it, reset it or do anything to make anything at all appear on the screen. Went home, checked to the directions and the bottom line is this unit is royally screwed up. So I sent it back. I'll probably just order the one I usual get and stick to what I know works. I hope this company hasn't gone cheap/bad like so many did in the last few years.

I bought this lap counter February of 2021 and had to replace the battery June of 2025. It worked for a couple weeks then wouldn't turn off. I just let it run. It eventually turned itself off (I don't know how long that took). It now starts but doesn't record lap times. It's unusable. I did get 4 years from it--I just assumed that this was of a quality that if I had the battery replaced by a jeweler (I didn't just do it myself) that it would continue to work. I was pleased with my original purchase. Disappointed that it is made for planned obsolescence.

I am always nervous when I buy a product that has even only one negative review. In this case I must say the product met all my expectations. I have been using it almost daily and it is excellent. Easy to use, no issues with clicking, battery etc. It is exactly what I was looking for. It counts laps, timing, best lap, worst lap and even tells you the timing for every single lap. It fits perfectly on my finger, I can easily click it with my thumb. I definitely recommend it. UPDATE Today Sept 4h, 2017 I had to change the battery. Unfortunately I didn't close the back properly and during my morning swim some water got inside and the SportCount stopped working. There were bubbles of water floating inside the LCD display. My bad I thought next time make sure to seal it properly, this one is gone. When I got home I reopened it, I used a hair blower for about 15 minutes until all the water had dried up, then I reassembled it and IT WORKED AGAIN! I love it before but now even more, as my stupid mistake was forgiven.

Excellent Use it for swimming laps

Es un poco tombola cuando te llegue y dure la pila. Una vez se vuelve loco si te sale bien desde el principio ya no tiene remedio. Yo he comprado (4 o 5 a lo largo delos últimos años. Duran aproximadamente un año. El primero se desintegro por el cloro la correa. El segundo duró mucho y empezó a fallar la pila y cuando lo quise recuperar el cloro se había comida la goma. EL tercero, fallo la pila antes, y se quedaba trabado y ya no salió de ahí Otro que no recuerdo... Y voy a por uno más... Si mejorasen el tema de la pila y la rapidez de envío sería genial. (Una vez se agota, poner pila y volver a darle estanqueidad, sube mas de precio que comprar otro) Por mi parte es excelente compañero pero tiene la pega que nunca sabes como te va a salir a largo plazo. Yo por años lo compro como nadador internacional y estoy encantado para poder entrenar solo y a mi aire.

I needed a simple length counter for my swims to assist with a useless memory and dodgy attention span. These are perfect for my needs. I’ve been using them for over a year now, swimming 2000m 2-3 times a week and they are still going strong.
