At some point, some entrepreneur is going to realize that there's a little market for people that want to be able to accurately measure, with a fixed device, everything from 1.5" to 7.0". Unfortunately, that time isn't now. In the meantime, we're stuck trying to find the device that gives the perfect measurements for whatever locale we're stuck in. For me, it's this device. I ordered a blue piece of plastic that would tell the local warden that I was honest when I measured my 5.75" crab; what I got was a light-green device that tells my local warden that I am both honest when measuring that 5.75" crab, but also honest when I measure my 4.5" Pismo clam. Furthermore, if I decide to dig 1.5" Manila clams, I'll feel honest reporting those as well. Maybe I should feel grateful that I found a device that handles 3 measurements, but I really don't. It would be so simple to make a device like this that measures everything from 1.5" to [max abalone size]. But they won't. For some reason, they can only seem to make devices that only measure certain specific sizes...several of which are completely useless. Is there a 6 1/4" limit for something out there? Maybe a 6 1/2" limit? No, I didn't think so. But those limits are ingrained onto this device...which happens to be better than all the others. This gets 5 stars because it's less worse than all the rest. But it still sucks.

For $2.67 you get a great deal! Measurement is slightly off but was fixed easily with a small razor! For the 2.67 the 15 seconds it took to measure and make a small groove was well worth it! Buy Buy Buy!

Made excellent great job and well made.

I am in CA and it fit all the rules and regulations. The price is low enough that I don't mind if I lost it.
