I bought them to decorate the garden, so I can’t say too much if it is heat resistant but they are beautiful! I used them to make a Zen Garden, and turned out amazing! Since I used them to decore the Zen Garden, I needed 4 bags of 20 lbs but I’m sure if for the fire pit could be 1 or 2 bags. Highly recommend for the size and the colour of the glasses. Shaped very nicely.

Finally got around to using these. I removed all of the old glass from my fire table, scraped off all the rust, repainted the tray and used these in clear and blue to replace the glass. They are beautiful!!

The item is described as “Sufficient Portion” but it is not. You will need to buy 2 bags. As you can see in the pictures, I knew that if I remove my original lava rocks and replace it with Gaspro 10 Pound Fire Glass Diamonds 1 inch, it will NOT be sufficient and my new blue rocks will not even be at the level of the fire which I wanted to cover. So I decided to leave the lava rocks and place the new blue rocks on top of it but even like that it did not cover all the surface. A couple of rocks did pop and a few came already broken. I have to clean them with a rug because they were covered with dust. Other than that I like the way it looks.

Purchased: 20# of the Caribbean Blue Look: They look great out of the bag. The color matched well with the photo. A review mentioned how they shimmer in the fire - 100% and it is mesmerizing and quite pretty. There was slight discoloration for the pieces right against the flames, but that's not a deal-breaker at the moment. Status: Two uses. One for 15 minutes and the second for about 90 minutes. I am using a custom table with an 80,000btu insert and a propane burner with an air mixer. I settled on leaving my regulator at half speed ~10psi (the flames were about 6" or so). Use: THESE WILL CRACK if high heat is immediately applied. On my first go, I was testing the insert and gas lines and shot straight to 10-15 psi. Cracking started immediately and about 2-5% broke. The cracks left sharp and jagged pieces that would be dangerous to touch, I noticed many 1 star reviews commenting on this and I agree. On my second go, I decided to gradually increase the heat over about 5-10 minutes. I think this protected the glass from the shock of instant cold to hot. I heard only a few light cracks and saw no additional breaking. Afterward, I left the burner on for 90 minutes, again at ~10 psi. I noticed no additional issues after this. I am curious if they will eventually temper, but I will update this review if that is the case or if anything else changes. I thankfully did not notice any melting which I saw in another review, but I will be sure to update if that happens.

Please do not risk your or your family or friends safety by using these! Initially we loved them. The color is vibrant and they looked beautiful in our natural gas fire pit. But after about 15 months of occasional use (2x per week average), we noticed some loud popping sounds. As this increased over the next few weeks we did a thorough inspection in daylight when the fire pit was not burning. There were shards of glass EVERYWHERE throughout our fire pit! I mean hundreds and hundreds of pieces of broken glass! Most of them had spots of a strange iridescent haze on them, and on even closer inspection these pieces had tiny fissures throughout them. At least 40% of the rocks were, at best, broken in half. But hundreds of tiny pieces were spread throughout the fire pit. We knew we could not risk having them explode and fly into the faces or eyes of our family and friends, so we had to completely clean them out. As we were dropping the ones that looked like they were still whole into the bag we were collecting them in - from a height of only 3 or 4” - even the whole ones were breaking in half! They are just literally disintegrating! I’ve never seen anything like this and they need to stop selling them! Very dangerous!

The pkg has the exact amount needed for my propane fire table. And looks beautiful

I bought this to replace my stock limestone products from my propane campfire. Immediately revived my old looking propane campfire. my kids kept some stones because they love them so much. As far as the reliability, so far so good. no carbon build up yet and have used this more than a month now. the blue color is really nice when you set the propane level to low. love this product!
