F40 Piercer Linerlock SW Review: This is a great EDC &/or utility knife. - Like the title says....but to be clear, I do not prefer knives that do not have a flipper, thumb plate (wave capable) or at least thumb studs. I like thumbholes the least but don't mind them in circumstances where quick blade deployment isn't essential. Swift blade deployment w/a thumbhole is possible but there are more variables that could result in error or delay, plain and simple. That aside, I like the design here. The handle is big enough for a large hand but not too big for a small hand, provides a great finger guard & yet slim enough for easy/low profile carry. This is especially possible due to the ultra-deep pocket carry clip & the very light weight (3.98oz I believe). The D2 steel holds a great edge but due to the stonewash finish on this model you don't have to worry excessively about corrosion on the blade. So, this isn't my favorite or in my "best knife" list or anything....it's just a knife I like to put in the "rotation" and definitely a good light utility knife w/great piercing blade geometry (like the name suggests). I highly recommend.
