Spin It Again - Live in Munich captures the final night of the Saga's wildly successful 2012 tour in Germany in amazing Blu-Ray quality.Saga's historical singer Michael Sadler surprised everybody by rejoining the band back just a few days before the recording of their most recent album 20/20. That studio effort charted in the German top 10 and the band sold out nearly 20 concerts in Germany and brought its music in cities and countries where they had never been before. Spin it Again , recorded and filmed in Munich, historically a second home for the Canadian prog rockers, features recent songs and all the Saga classics. Saga sound as good as ever
First up - the disc is Region Free, so there are no restrictions on playing it in North America, but it is in PAL format, not the North America NTSC standard. You will need a PAL-compatible player to watch this disc. It's a great show. I saw Saga open for Jethro Tull in Toronto in September 1982. Thirty years later (2012) four of the five members were still playing (they had a different drummer) and look a lot older, but they sound exactly the same. The setlist focuses on their first five albums with a few cuts from 20/20, the album they were touring at the time. I don't think the sound mix is all that it could be, but the band is in such good form that it's a great listen just the same. The video quality is quite good. Multiple camera give you a good perspective on the band.

Great video. PAL format played fine on my player (Oppo)
Iโd never seen them live so I was curious. Great picture, sound and song selection. I was very pleased.

Great video -- misleading packaging
This is a well-made video, capturing the triumphant return of singer Michael Sadler to Saga's ranks. Nice mix of new and old tracks with good quality video and excellent sound. However, if you order the Eagle Vision (US domestic version) copy, it arrives in Ear Music (German label) packaging, noting that it is a PAL version, featuring only Dolby Digital and DTS sound. The disc inside is actually an NTSC version with DTS-MA HD audio. Apparently, to save money, Eagle and Ear Music have opted to use only the European cover for the Blu Ray box and slap an appropriate SKU number sticker on that cover for the Region 1 (NTSC) folks. Bad move, because I returned this blu ray twice to other online vendors, thinking they had sent me the wrong copy. I wonder how much this is costing Saga in sales. Bottom line, if you're a Saga fan, get it. Just don't let the packaging fool you.

Pretty darn good. Well worth owning. REAL good DTS-HD!
Good to see these guys back together with the original singer. They just weren't the same without Michael Sadler. The show focuses mostly on their newer music which might not be as well known to some but it's good stuff. There's a few old standards thrown in too. The playing is good to very good from all the members and they seem to be enjoying themselves. Some very good musicianship going on here. Nothing fancy stage or light wise. Video is clean without and major flaws. A little bit of cut and pan but not bad. They make use of split screen too which is kinda cool. Lets you see 2 or 3 of them at the same time. Smaller interment club / theater setting. DTS HD is great. Bordering on superb! They don't put the surrounds to much use but the 5.1 DTS-HD is really really good.HEY RUSH! Take an audio lesson from these guys!

This is really a fantastic show of SAGA
This is really a fantastic show of SAGA. The high skills of each one of the members of this great rock progressive band are shown on this fantastic DVD Concert. Also the Drum solo is outstanding so the really good lead guitar player. The only thing that I am not sure about is the way to sing of the Singer of the band. His voice looks kind of off in some of the songs. Particulary in "I am the flyer". I do not know if this is because he sang this songs in this way or his voice was modified during the sound edition of this concert..

Stellar recording of a stellar performance from a stellar group
If you like Saga, this is a great package for the library. If you like (progressive rock/art rock/prog), but are not familiar with Saga, this is a good package to check out because the set list contains a good retrospective of their catalog. Those not necessarily into prog but into catchy melodies will also find plenty to enjoy here. The audio is crisp and well balanced. The video is very good multi-angle/-camera, but be warned, the artists are not as young as we all once were (doesn't affect the performance in any way.. Just kinda striking to realize how looooong they've been doing this.Worth the admission price, easily.

Great show and the Blu-ray plays just fine in US-purchased players
First, the "region playback warning" stating this will not play in Blu-ray players sold in the Unites States is wrong. I popped it in and it plays like every other Blu-ray I have. That said, the concert is awesome! Sound and video are top-notch. Order this while it's still available. If you like Saga, you'll love this show!

good show but sadler needs to flush the audience participation ...
good show but sadler needs to flush the audience participation crap. aside from that the musicianship was top notch and the complex compositions really make the talent shine. song selection was awesome too.

listened then bought it
Have to agree with the other reviewer of this set of discs, I listened to the whole concert while reclined with my sennheisers on and dynamically its a great recording of a band playing superbly well, they bring out a great selection of their songs too. The lead singer does a great job and the audience participation and the rapore he has with the crowd must be mentioned. I've seen a few bands and one or two barely say a word to their audience (muse). Some on the other hand make the audience part of the performance ( foo fighters) and now Saga. This is a great recording, one thing though, the level of sound of songs is noticeably different on a number of tunes and I found myself having to tweak the volume up and down, maybe the bluray will be different. All in all a great concert and performance.

the band are playing a perfect combination of rock and prog and look absolutely thrilled ...
Was delivered really quickly. As for the blue-ray, the sound is crystal clear and punchy. I'm recently new to Saga and all I can say is that they are minblowing live. Song after song, the band are playing a perfect combination of rock and prog and look absolutely thrilled to be playing such classy songs. If you love rock music that is sophisticated but without the excess of twenty minute solos from guitar bass and drums, Saga are that band-classy and genius. Canada's best next to Rush.

SAGA, Live and at their best
Took delivery of this Blu Ray (and the double CD) two days ago, and I have to say that this is just awesome. Saga show their live performance capabilities to the max. This is tight, and as clear as a bell. Each musician puts in his all, and their dedication to quality shines through. It is a complete mystery why this band is not massive world wide.

It's code free and in PAL format
Not only is the US import of "Spin It Again - Live in Munich" code free, (the same as the European version), it's also in widescreen PAL format. Google "70% of Blu-ray discs are region free" and read up on the Blu-ray situation. Now check every Blu-ray disc you've purchased that was released in the past 12 months. Some discs say "locked to regions A, B and C". There ARE only regions A, B and C (DVDs have a numerical system, regions 1 - 6). So you're getting the same thing, friends.
