Astronomy is inherently more observational rather than an elemental study of science. All measurements are performed at a greater distance from the object of interest, with no control of quantities such as chemical composition, pressure, or temperature. You will also understand the study of the solar system with relation to the gravitational attraction that holds the planets in their elliptical orbits around the sun. An early study of the universe was done through the naked eyes. This method led to the categorization of the celestial bodies and assigned constellations. Constellation has been a very important navigational tool since the beginning of the world. Various disciplines of Astronomy will also be discussed. Examples of such disciplines include:โขAstrophysicsโขGalactic astronomyโขGalaxy FormationโขCosmologyโขAstrometryโขExtragalactic astronomyโขStellar astronomyโขPlanetary sciencesโขAstrobiologyโขFormation of stars Review: Fascinating - It was a gift. Review: Pamphlet Only Not a Book - This is just a small pamphlet, and I was looking for a book.

88 pages
I couldnโt make it past page 30. This โ book โ gave me the impression that it was made up of pieces taken from other sources and pasted together to make up a โ bookโ

Not enough information
This book started out well, but it seemed to change as I read it. Something needed more explaining and some was confusing.

Great read
This was a good introduction to learning more about space and the galaxy. The information was easy to understand and not daunting like a textbook.

Not what I was expecting
Book is mostly about the formation of the galaxy than actual astronomy observation. Good information just not good for learning how to do astronomy.

Poorly written and cobbled together
This book is filled with enough typos to fill the universe it is trying to describe. While its very dumbed down the typos can easily lead to bad information. Such as describing the growth spurt of the universe as "a burst of expansion that led to the >Earth< growing exponentially in size at least ninety times of its original size."

Very basic
Good reading, but not always clear and very, very basic.

A bit simple and poor grammar
Explains very simple principles and gives a high level overview, does not really touch on the geography of thr galaxy, which is a pity. The later chapters have poor grammar and seem to be written as a school book.

Don't waste your money on this worthless book
This book is utter drivel. The author has not got a clue what they are talking about, and cannot even write grammatical sentences. How on earth did it get published?

Love it - Great for young & old
I recently got (re)interested in astronomy and thought this book would a great place to start. Glad I did! It certainly lives up to its title. And while it is great for young people to read, it is not just a "child's book." I'm middle-aged and find it very well written and informative. Great little book! I'm learning a lot and will be reading it many times over.
