Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-Tung is comprised of statements from speeches and writings of Mao Tse-Tung, the former Chairman of the Communist Party of China from 1943 to 1976. The book was originally printed in small sizes and bound in bright red covers, becoming commonly known as The Little Red Book. The contents cover a wide swath of Mao's interpretations of Marxist-Leninist thought and how it should be applied to the Chinese people and culture. Review: Read this book - Itโs a good book, we all should take inspiration from Chairman Mao. He wasnโt a dictator like everyone says. Review: Little Red Book for Beginning Chinese Language Students - Little Red Book for Beginning Chinese Language Students Book Review by Dr. Ali Fant, WB5WAF Radio Station As a beginning Chinese language student, I found it very helpful to have the Chinese (Mandarin) and English text on facing pages. The thirty glossy color photographs of Mao are quite clear and distinct. The English font size is about 12 and the Chinese font size is about 14. One can read the Chinese text without a magnifying glass at normal reading distances. Because Chinese printers tend to run multiple characters together to save space, I was happy to find only a few squashed characters in this book. I purchased this book because it is the most published book in history, but probably not the most read book. The Bible, Quran, and Torah are arguably the most read books in history. However, the large population of China and the mandate that Chinese homes have a copy of Chairman Mao Tse-Tung quotations has made this small book very popular. The translation of the Chairman's words indicate it was edited by a non-native English speaker. There are missing spaces between punctuation marks and multiple run-on sentences in the English text. I would not recommend this book for beginning English language students. I would recommend this book for beginning Chinese language students.

A must read for anyone, just like the Bible and the Quran.

It's all in the attitude.
Following this former trooper's advice, I have avoided countless tickets. First and foremost, disarm the officer's fear that attends every traffic stop. Second, don't be angry. Better to be cordial, not obsequious. Third, don't insult the officers"'s intelligence with transparent denials. Acknowledge your error without making admissions that guarantee a conviction.

Mao was a revolutionary.
The translation is okay, a lot of typos and you can tell the book was cheaply made in the United States. There is a free version online that people can read with less typos and better translation.

Golden Chairman
Maoโs Little Red Book is superb. Some of Maoโs more global Quotations include: All erroneous ideas, all poisonous weeds, all ghosts and monsters, must be subjected to criticism; in no circumstance should they be allowed to spread unchecked. However, the criticism should be fully reasoned, analytical and convincing, and not rough, bureaucratic, metaphysical or dogmatic. Both dogmatism and revisionism run counter to Marxism. Marxism must certainly advance; it must develop along with the development of practice and cannot stand still. It would become lifeless if it remained stagnant and stereotyped. However, the basic principles of Marxism must never be violated, or otherwise mistakes will be made (pg. 39 in chapter 2). People of the world, be courageous, dare to fight, defy difficulties and advance wave upon wave. Then the whole world will belong to the people. Monsters of all kinds shall be destroyed (pg. 159 of chapter 7). As far as our own desire is concerned, we donโt want to fight even for a single day. But if circumstances force us to fight, we can fight to the finish (pg. 165). The oppressed peoples and nations must not pin their hopes for liberation on the โsensiblenessโ of imperialism and its lackeys (pg. 167 of chapter 7). Knowledge is a matter of science, and no dishonesty or conceit whatsoever is permissible. What is required is definitely the reverse โ honesty and modesty (pg. 583 of chapter 33). British Parliament member John McDonnell intelligently quoted out of Maoโs Little Red Book, โWe must learn to do economic work from all who know how, no matter who they are. We must esteem them as teachers, learning from them respectfully and conscientiously. We must not pretend to know when we do not know (pg. 583).โ Ayn Rand could have utilized this Mao Quotation? There was no controversial Nobel Prize in Economics yet when Maoโs Little Red Book was first compiled in 1964.

Fundamental.
Para criticar a quien denominamos โenemigoโ, o a sus fanรกticos, es fundamental conocer su historia y base filosรณfica.

A chance to review a Red Chinese "New Testament."
The little red book is an important addition to my library, which focuses on history, especially military history. While I in no way agree with most of what Chairman Mao had to say and write, I understand the power of his communication and its influence on the people not only of China but of other Asian and non-Asian countries as well. The book is not a perfect publication. Type face changes in mid paragraph and lines are dropped and many other things occur on the pages, but what it contains in content is what I was seeking when I ordered it. To some extent it is a novelty item. Even in China there are many who believe Mao went too far in trying to tear down Chinese culture and history. I am heartened by the more enlightened views of subsequent leadership, although I still feel China needs to be freed from this oppressive and archaic system of government. But you do not ignore a country with a population over a billion, and we dare not ignore China and especially its history in the past century. To some extent, ignoring that history is what got us into this mess.

Well-made booklet
The book is well printed, the pages are relatively soft but text is clear and not easily rippable - The cover is a plastic sheen. Translation is great.! 5 stars for being what I wanted - Decent, cheap copy of Mao's teachings.

Expectations
I thought I was receiving his little red book. Not his pixelated poorly translated soft cover slop.

Tiny print and huge pages. No title on the spine. Really cheap quality. Find a better version.
