ecobee SmartSensor 2-Pack - Temperature & Occupancy Sensor

I have two ecobee thermostats in the hallways in my house. The sensors are small and unobtrusive. The base is magnetic and so the senor is easily pointed up or down.With these sensors you can use the app to see the temperatures in rooms with the sensor and if the room is occupied. The thermostat monitors the sensors and room occupancy and will turn on the AC or Heat if the occupied room is too hot or cold.Linking to the sensor to your ecobee thermostat is really easy. Once linked it all just works.I plan on getting two more for my living room and home office.

Have had them for 3 months so haven't had to change a battery yet. One is upstairs in a far bedroom and one downstairs in a family room (3 story house built into a hill). Temperature is pretty accurate and I love seeing the difference in other places in the house. Would like more control than just averaging between chosen sensors but maybe in a software update. Installation was trivial and they work so far.

Been using ecobee for years in two different houses. These new sensors are more pleasantly designed and perform great. We have a 120 year old three story house with 2 systems and a mini-split. The second floor runs on the same system as the first floor. So, these sensors do a great job of monitoring both floors and telling the system what to do. I have a few mounted on the wall and some that use the stands. Installing them on the wall was very easy. You just stick them on. I like being able to monitor the temperature remotely from my phone and see how the system is performing.They are even useful for systems that are not under control of ecobee. For example, we have one in our room with the mini split so that we can see how that system is doing. You can have the to monitor without having that temperature be included in the calculation that ecobee uses to set the temperature on the main system.

Remember you are buying a tool to average temperatures so something like a cold addition or bedroom matter in the thermostat math mix, or a fireplace doesn't shut off your thermostat, there isn't much else its good for. If you need that function get it, we're happy with ours. Was harder to connect than it should have been..still works fine after you get it connected. It does improve scheduling insight and help you see where your house is struggling to keep temps, or perhaps where its not struggling such as a warm bedroom upstairs. Delivers a cool modern function for a reasonable price, worthwhile.

I live in a row house and was having some SERIOUS trouble keeping the upstairs level cooler. The main ecobee is on the 1st floor and would stop when it reached its targetted temperature and upstairs would still be baking! I placed 1 unit in each of the 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 in my kitchen and it tracks the temperatures in each room in real time and keeps cooling the house until the hottest room (with one of these units) reached the targetted temperature! What a god send! I didnt know itd actually work but since I bought my home 3 years ago, this was the first summer where we weren't sweating and uncomfortable upstairs! TOTALLY WORTH THE PURCHASE!

Loved the design of the package. The installation is simple and straightforward. Installing a sensor on the wall required *first* set the sensor on the mount by applying pressure on the top of the sensor until you hear or feel a click and only after that the stick the mount to the wall. I hope that the adhesive substance on the back of the mount is strong enough to hold the weight of the sensor for long time. I had to problem to detach the mount from the wall.Sensors are small and look nit and stylish. Remote access via the app works fine.

these sensors are easy to connect to yoru ecobee system it is straight foward and once they are intergrated they send the information seemlessly to your ecobee thermostat and app. a great buy with the stand and have a longer battery life than the original sensor that came with my system.

These work amazingly. Balanced out my entire house temp (I only have one unit for up and downstairs). Significantly lowered the humidity as well. I had a 7 degree discrepancy between the two floors and now my entire house is managing to stay at 68-70 degrees. So glad I tried these before purchasing a mini split or dehumidifier!

I did not realize it did not reach my thermostat from my bedroom in a two story house. The one in the living room is ok and a great help. I wish I would have known before I purchased. This is a fantastic product, but depending on square footage it may be difficult.

Good, but expensive.
