I had issues with it at first because it would not connect to my newer high speed router. I installed my old 2.4 GHZ router that I had stored. It works well with it. All other devices still run on the 5 GHZ wifi.The info with the device specifies that it will only work with 2.4 GHZ wifi and that is a fact.It works as described in the ad on the old slower speed router. I use it to kill power to the wall plug where my grandson's Xbox and TV are powered. I have the timers set for each plug to shut off at night if he doesn't turn it off as he has been told. It turns the power back on later in the early morning after he is in bed asleep. I can remotely turn off the power if needed. So far he has learned to save his play and shut down his games because he knows it is going dark at a preset time if he doesn't. Then he loses progress if he doesn't cooperate. A hard deadline has been good for him.It also has the built-in 5 volt charger for iPad and phone. He likes that too. Put a 10ft charging cord on that.

Plug is fairly easy to install. Just need screw driver and needle nose pliers. Setup was fairly simple and once power is applied, it only takes a minute. Please note the following- cover the UPC thumb codes that you're not using as there are several true life apps. It helps. ALSO please note that YOU MUST use the cover that comes with the item. This is why I only give it 3 stars. The receptacle I want to use is in the same box as 2 switches. This required me to cut my existing plate to make it fit. It looks terrible, so I'm unsure where to go from here. I wish the receptacle was universal as for a cover. Another note you should be aware of; the LEDs on this unit are very bright. So, use this where you may want a night light. Not idea for a bedroom!Other than that, looking forward to setting up a program and using it.

I bought this Smart Wi-Fi outlet to control my outdoor string lights with Alexa. The installation was ok, but has only room for 1 set of wires. The 12-2 wiring I had in my outlet barley fit in the wiring slots.It works great with Alexa, after you figure out how to get it to connect. The directions which came with it have outdated app pictures, which was frustrating. Once you download the app, the pictures on the directions are no where near close to what is actually displayed in the app.When selecting your device in the app, look for the plain "socket" icon (picture attached). Once you select that, you should get the Wi-Fi log in screen similar to the directions say to look for. Then rest was relatively painless with some online searching through the companies website. The Alexa connection directions were also covered in the companies website and were relatively easy to follow.Good thing is, if you lose power, it remembers the Wi-Fi info and you won't have to go through and set it up again.One design criticism is the lower outlet is too close to the small on/off switch with controls that lower outlet. Most plugs will hit this switch and activate the on/off switch, almost rendering the bottom plug useless unless you leave your plug partially out of the socket or get creative with an exacto knife.

Well, there are two problems with this product. First is the location of the pairing buttons. It's impossible to plug anything in, no matter the size or shape of the plug without inadvertently pressing one of the buttons with the plug. Second, as I was testing for the first problem, I noticed that all of the three plugs that I tried fit the socket very loosely and wouldn't stay plugged all the way in. I haven't even bothered to install the outlet and have already made up my mind to return it.

I purchased this dimmer switch to control the pendent light in family room. the installation, set up and control was petty straight forward and easy, just like most of other brand dimmers. However, when I was warping up the project and install the cover plate back, I found that the switch has some significant design flaw:1. tongue that is supposed to be fasten on the box is too thick and the cover plate could not cover it as tight as normal switch. if I use the supplied cover plate, it works fine. however, the supplied cover plate is only for 1-gang box, and it looks different style with other plates you can buy from local hardware store. I could not find any 3 gang-cover plate that could fit for this dimmer switch.2. the color of this white switch does not match normal switches of common brands. it does not blend in.3. unless you use Alexa or Google Assistant, it only control the dimmable light bulbs at 5 different brightness level, not 0-100%. Even I use Google Assistant to adjust the bright level from 20 to 25%, I do not see any difference at allif you are planning to use in a 1-gang electrical box, and you don't mind the plate look different, this dimmer switch may be a good choice, However, if you are planning to install it in a multi-gang box, think twice before you order. Look at the pictures !!

UPDATE: Through a lot of trial and error, I found that the device had to be set as an AP to properly install. No instructions were included to indicate this was required and no online resources were readily available to provide assistance during setup. That being said, the device is now working properly.I agree with the other reviews that stated there is a design flaw. It is impossible to plug in two devices securely without inadvertently hitting one of the power buttons. Unfortunately, I was also unable to get the wifi working properly as well. The Amazon support provided was not helpful and only read the instructions to me - not worth the time.

My old outlet had four screws two for each neutral and live, plus one more for ground. This one got only one for each. If you do not have extra cables around to correctly wire them, you might lose power on other outlet.Other than initial hiccup, this is solid product.Wifi setup was easy, outlet works as expected, usb works just fine Charging my phone.Functionality wise, I have 0 complain.
