This book helped me get back into the hobby after a 15 year hiatus. I lot has changed, but the author gives just the right amount of information for a newbie. Enough to be knowledgeable and curious, but not so much to be overwhelming. He also includes a little humor to make the read more entertaining. Definitely worth the purchase.

I'm an avid scuba diver and have wanted, for years, to bring that experience into my home. This book is well organized, detailed enough and written in understandable terms.

Excellent Book

This book is full of instructions, ideas and know-how tips. Easy to read and easy to understand. A must for the beginner who is wanting to create the perfect salt water habitat for the first time. I highly recommend this book.

If its possible to have tmi in a dummies book, this is the one. Author has a good sense of humor.

One question I have is how to use a water softener kit along with everything that go s with fish tanks. I am going to start a tank with a water softener along with everything elese and see how it go s with consistent water quality.

First of all it’s a great book to learn all about aquariums in general, not just salt water. The author is really good at not taking it over top with technical jargon.I was getting overwhelmed trying to learn with all the contradictions you read on the web forum’s. But after reading this book. I got my nano marine tank up and running within 2 weeks. And yes it cycled. I already have corals and a few fish as well. All doing fine.Explains every aspect clearly and simply.

I've been keeping marine fish for a while now but have been struggling with some aspects so thought I'd get this book to pick up some tips. It's really well written and I'd recommend it to anyone who's planning to start marine fish keeping or even for those who have been in it a while but would like to refresh some points or for reference.

Quite easy to read and understand, lot of technical info

If your looking for a book with good pictures also this is not it. But the information is useful.
