UNCLE BEN'S Whole Grain Brown Rice, 25 Pound

Thought it might be good, given the current world events, to pick up some bulk dry goods. Since the local grocery stores are mostly missing items. Forget Costco...it would be like shopping in a human petri dish. NO thanks. This was one of the cheapest on Amazon. Just cooked up a batch and it's what I expected. Good rice, good seller got it MUCH FASTER than expected.

I think this tastes better than other brown rice available at the store. I'm thankful it's available during this pandemic! It arrived about 5 days after I placed the order, much quicker than estimated. The directions are based on multiples of 25 servings (which made me laugh), so if you want to cook a more reasonable quantity, it's 2 cups of water per cup of rice. I've found a good ratio to be: 1 cup rice 2 cups water 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 tablespoon olive oil Bring to a boil, then simmer until the water has all been absorbed, about 30 minutes. Very good tasting rice!

Uncle Ben's rice is always top notch. Rarely get a husk in my rice. Whole grain rice is only available in 2 pound bags in the chain stores like Walmart, and the cost of buying it in the small bags is consideribly higher, when it's one of the main food sources that I eat. Being a dried goodz I can vacpack and store it for years, not that it lasts that long.

This is the second time I bought this that it is the original Uncle Ben's and it came to be Ben's which is expensive i love it because it is a brown rice and as good as the 25pounds so write that it is Ben's and sell it cheap.

I’ve been buying 25 pound bags of uncle Ben’s rice for the last few months. I’ve been feeding it to my dog though because he cannot eat regular dog food due to a tumor in his mouth. I love uncle Ben’s and so does he. Not sure what will happen when I have to buy just plain Ben’s rice. He’s been my uncle for years.

Doesn't smell like our organic brown rice. Tastes ok, but we prefer organic brown rice. The prices have gone through the roof lately for the brands we used for organic. Wished Uncle Ben would get some organic rice! There's nothing wrong with this one but it definitely doesn't taste as good as organic brown rice. Would be 5 stars if it had organic.

This brown rice cooks very quickly because it is parboiled then dried. Has a nice taste, maybe not quite as "nutty" as regular whole grain rice, very good and the speed of prep is great.

As American's fight for their right to eat fried butter it's nice to be able to find this quality food.
