Product works amazing!!!!
I had some giant rocks sticking out of my road and driveway. They were to large to excavate. Following the directions on this product l drilled holes 8 to 12 inches apart approximately 12 inches deep. Once l had approximately 9ft of holes to fill l mixed the Dexpan and poured it into the cleaned out holes. Cracks started to appear within just a few hours. After two days cracks were so large I could easily stick prybar into crack and remove rock as deep as holes that were drilled. Wish l had bought this year's ago. So quick and easy to use and worked better than l could have imagined. Thanks Dexpan! I will be buying more.

This product works GREAT!
This stuff works great to rid your yard of those granite slabs. Built a stone wall with all the pieces I removed from my yard. I refer to it as silent explosives. Drill your holes, mix as recommended, fill holes, next morning remove your chunks of stone. My neighbors were in awe.

you need a SDS Max rotary hammer drill. An SDS Plus rotary hammer will not hold needed bit size.
the product worked pretty well for removing concrete stairs. Broke off in pieces that were manageable to haul away. The only drawback to the product is very few people will have the needed sds max rotary hammer drill or the 1 1/2 inch diameter sds max drill bit needed to drill the recommended hole size. I bought the drill at harbor freight for $179.00 and the Bosch SDS max bit at Lowes for $109.00. You have to drill quite a few holes at the recommended spacing of 12 inches apart if you want the concrete to break off in pieces that can be easily lifted and hauled away. It took me a couple of hours to drill the holes but the payoff was being able to walk away and come back the next morning to remove the pieces that had cracked between the holes.

would purchase again
Awesome product, had a rock the size of a small junky car (fiat) that was in the way of a planned addition, knowing an excavator with a hammer would be at least $5k to mob in chip for a day then mob out i searched the memory banks and remembered a Maine home show had a similar situation to deal with and used a product that expanded, online and Amazon search brought me to Dexpan, most of the videos cover thin concrete slabs and rocks, my rock was about 4โ thick and 10โ long and irregular shaped, i drilled enough holes for one bag 1-1/2โ by 14โ at 12โ centers, mixed up the bag and dumped it in, it took around 18 hours to fracture, peel the rock off with a digging bar and drill in the next round, i went through 2 buckets so 88 pounds, each hole took about 20 minutes to drill so the project took several weekends but the rock pieces were small enough for a mini 50 to move around so when my digger showed up to excavate the footings he could perform his work, so $300 versus $5,000+, would and likely will purchase again

Works great in breaking apart monster boulders!
Dexpan used in natural solid Granite Slab to make a ramp ( 10' wide x 6' long and about 45 degree slope). Drilled holes from 24"-32" deep in multiple stages. Spacing of holes were 12"-16" apart. Some of the holes were drilled the recommended 1.5" diameter. Works great. Also tried drilling 1.25" diameter holes. Worked very good for me and sped up the project! I did fill one group of holes with Dexpan while it was raining. Bad idea. Water got into the filled holes and the Dexpan would not expand as designed! Keep area dry if you can and the more time you let the Dexpan " work" the better. Even after 24 hours it was still expanding a little.

Impressed
First time using this type of product wasnโt sure how it would go drilled 14 1.5 x 24 holes into a a boulder that has been next to my house for too long. We mixed 2 bags and filled 13 holes around 1 pm around 8 we had a few starting cracks by noon the next day it was busted video shows me barring it apart after 30 hours there is still cracks that will be useful after another treatment but I will move this rock out of the way first after using this I am going to drill my holes a bit closer to 16 apart than the 20 but I have access to a tractor I if you are using a wheel barrow Iโd stay with the 12 and use more grout or you will be swinging a sledge

Works good
Works really good. Got a bit aggressive with the hole spacing but still cracked the rock all to pieces. Using it on hard granite bedrock in Nova Scotia. It takes time to work properly. Drilled and filled the holes on Thursday and checked Monday, some cracking but not a lot went back the next Sunday, 10 days later and a lot of cracking with many large pieces separated from the main rock.

Great product, but use the CDN website for proper instructions on mixing, etc. for better results
This product worked great for breaking apart a huge Canadian shield rock (a combination of granite and other rock materials) in our basement sized about 4 ft x 24 ft. We initially followed the instructions on the USA website, but it didn't work as fast/well as we'd hoped, so we checked out the CDN site and found out we were mixing it incorrectly. As soon as we started mixing it correctly, before pouring it into the drilled holes, we were seeing initial results before 24 hrs and after 48 hours, the rock was cracked & breaking apart easily. It took my husband a full month & a half after work & weekends to break it almost completely apart. Last pic was from 2 weeks ago, we are farther now. We have just a bit left at the narrow 2 ft part & a bit around the edges. We are happy to almost reclaim a huge amount of square footage in our basement that we will use as a rec room in the near future. Great product, highly recommend.

Worked like a charm!
Iโm super happy with the Dexpan product! It worked like a charm. I had this massive granite rock in my basement, and this product handled it perfectly. A big shoutout to Sean from Dexpan for the incredible advice. I reached out to the team with some questions, and he hooked me up with an awesome PDF full of info. Their support was a game changer for my project. I definitely recommend them for anyone who has concrete or rock to break. If I could give more than five stars, I totally would!

It Works!
Had a big granite boulder to break in the basement. Dynamite was not an option indoors. After some research, found out about Dexpan. I was a bit skeptical at first but decided to give it a try. Did not had the needed equipment to drill 1 1/2 inch holes as recommended. Made 7/8 holes instead but made them closer (about 8 inch). Took about 2 days to have the first crack. After 4-5 days, the boulder was cracked all over. Dexpan made a very complicated and expensive job much easier and, most of all, much cheaper to accomplish compared to breaking the thing with rental jackhammers and such. Recommended!
