This translator has a quality build, very easy user interface, and provides really good results on the couple of languages I've tried it on so far (Chinese, Japanese, Spanish and Polish). As a previous reviewer stated, Polish was probably the least refined but it is a tricky language. I had a few questions that were answered within hours by Pipersong. First, when you get the device and browse where you have global wifi capability, China is not on the list of supported devices. That's more of a restriction in China than a problem with the JoneR. The fact that this unit has both an e-sim that can be used with their subscription service and a sim slot to use a data card bought from a local carrier is just brilliant. I'll have data in China from China Unicom via a sim bought in the airport. Easy enough. My second question had to do with a new menu item that isn't documented in the manual called "Optimize". It's a battery saver that switches the unit to airplane mode if not used for 4 hours. When you turn the translator back on it just takes a few seconds to reconnect to the network and is transparent to the user. Smart. The google maps and search capabilities are really easy to use and see on the 3.1" screen. I was surprised. I was able to log onto my Gmail account and read emails as quick as using my phone. Even though the description indicated I had google search capability somehow I didn't expect to be able to read my email or browse web pages with such clarity. If I had to pick an area for improvement, I'd offer one suggestion to JoneR - add some more apps, like a messaging app. That would be killer, otherwise I'd say they knocked this one out of the park.

What Apple has done with its iPhone, Alcorrect has done by creating JoneR, a phenomenal language translator that is equipped with leading technology, ease of use, and best customer service I have ever encountered. I have been using JoneR extensively since couple of weeks, and having tried numerous translations between many different languages, I can attest to the precision of voice recognition as well as to the accuracy of translations, both of which are most remarkable. The device allows instant two-way-translation between two persons both in text and voice format and without the need for handing the device over because the format allows the text to be simultaneously viewed from persons conversing facing each other. Having network access to Wi-Fi, Hotspot, or LTE (via SIM card) allows the device to be used practically anywhere by using online translations. There is also offline Chinese to Japanese/English translations (& vice versa) with room to grow more, the company expressed its intention to incorporate more offline languages. I also loved the device's instant menu and document translation capabilities into many languages, as well as its AI driven object recognition. This will make understanding restaurant menus, traffic and other signs in foreign countries a breeze. Last, but not the least, the customer service is fast, courteous, and most professional. I have contacted them on many occasions and was pleasantly surprised at how quick and well they responded, resolving all my inquiries with care and ambition. Having created something so perfect, I can see that Alcorrect stands firm behind their product, sincerely caring for customer satisfaction, unlike many other translation devices with very poor customer reviews. This device is a real blessing as I can see it will make my traveling and human connections so much more joyful. Most definitely recommended to all tourist or business travelers, who expects nothing less than perfection. A++

Better than phone apps. No finding app and waiting for it to load. Seems like it would save phone power too being a separate device. I only wish the history would replay to save even more time when you’re rushing around, otherwise I don’t see a point to it. For this I take off 1 star.

I used this on a trip to Europe and it worked great. I used it a lot for learning Spanish and Italian. It recently stopped charging and will not turn on after using for just 3 months.

Was super excited as I travel monthly, could not get this to work in China, who knows what I said to the cab driver one day but it was not good

I bought two of the JoneR Voice Language Translator Devices for communicating with my father-in-law who is visiting us from mainland China and when we visit China as we are there about 4 to 6 months every year. I have tried in vain to learn Chinese and it has been next to impossible for me to retain enough to communicate with my relatives from China. I married a beautiful Chinese Lady about 10 years ago and as she speaks fluent English I have been lazy in learning Chinese and able to have my own personal translator. Unfortunately when we are visiting China my wife is not always there to translate for me as she may be shopping or busy, so I am left out of the conversations taking place. I have found that the JonesR Translator is wonderful and very accurate in translating from Chinese to English as well as English to Chinese and since it works without having to be hooked up to the internet because these two languages are downloaded and come provided with the equipment. It will be great when we are traveling in China, out to dinner or just when I need to ask a question in Chinese and get an answer back in English. I highly recommend the JonesR Translator. As I have not needed to use these for other languages yet I cannot speak to their accuracy in other than English and Chinese, but for me this is the best device I have found and I have looked at a lot of other devices. Unfortunately most require blue tooth to you cell phone and then an internet connection to use. These do not. And as a bonus there is a built in wifi in the units so you do not have to have them use your phone

I purchased this to help with business translation during trips across Asia Pacific. Its proven to be a particularly versatile little pocket sided translator, with unique menu/document translator features across all the major and even some obscure world languages. It's also proving useful to help me learn to speak foreign languages - In particular when I practice speaking a target langauge, it instantly translates what I have spoken back into English and lets me know if my received pronounciation was correct or not. Its a bit pricey in comparison with many translators of this type, however, its rich feature set make it well worth while, particularly to business users and those needing more more advanced transation features. The built in world SIM card, plus a seond SIM card and offline features is also very useful when working outside cell phone coverage or your home cell network.

Hard to use with the free WiFi subscription included. Works great with Chinese as a stand alone but can’t get it to work with any other language with the free WiFi subscription. Will work on other WiFi networks.

海外によく旅行に行くので今まではスマホアプリ等を使用していましたが、周りが言うには翻訳機のほうが絶対にいいと。 ということで今回この翻訳機を購入しました。 世界197ヵ国 55言語＋75の訛り対応ですので、どこに行ってたとしてほぼ使えると思います。 まず、操作法がものすごく簡単でびっくりしました。 実際に英会話を話すハワイの友人に対して使ってみても完璧に会話ができました。 相手方の音声が小さすぎたり、複数人が一緒に話すとうまく通訳できない時があります。 1対1の会話でしたら通訳はものすごく簡単です。２人一気に話すとなるとうまくできないので使う人は注意したほうがいいかもしれません。 デザインも黒がメインでカッコいいデザインとなっていて良いと思います。 サイズ感ですが持ちやすいサイズで重さも重くありませんので使用に関して、ストレスなく使えます。 総合的にみてすごく良い商品だと思います。 もうアプリには戻れませんね。
