The first woman to win a Nobel Prize, physicist and chemist Marie Curie is the 19th hero in the New York Times bestselling picture book biography series about heroes. This friendly, fun biography series focuses on the traits that made our heroes great--the traits that kids can aspire to in order to live heroically themselves. Each book tells the story of one of America's icons in a lively, conversational way that works well for the youngest nonfiction readers and that always includes the hero's childhood influences. At the back are an excellent timeline and photos. Being a woman scientist in the 19th century meant Marie Curie faced plenty of obstacles, but she never let them dull her love of science and passion for learning. This friendly, fun biography series inspired the PBS Kids TV show Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum . One great role model at a time, these books encourage kids to dream big. Included in each book are: • A timeline of key events in the hero’s history • Photos that bring the story more fully to life • Comic-book-style illustrations that are irresistibly adorable • Childhood moments that influenced the hero • Facts that make great conversation-starters • A virtue this person embodies: Marie Curie's perseverance was critical to making her discoveries known You’ll want to collect each book in this dynamic, informative series! Perfectly Tells Curie's Story For Kids
I Am Marie Curie is a warm, inspiring, and accessible introduction to one of history’s most remarkable scientists. Brad Meltzer and Christopher Eliopoulos have a gift for distilling complex lives into stories that children can connect with, and this book is no exception. The book captures Marie Curie’s curiosity, determination, and resilience in the face of societal barriers. The illustrations are playful yet expressive, making even challenging topics—like scientific discovery and gender inequality; very approachable for young readers. The balance between humor and heartfelt moments keeps the story engaging without losing its educational value. While my boys may be too young to understand the concepts in this book, it is the perfect book at have added into my library for them to grow with.

Excellent, inspiring book for young readers!
I bought this book as a gift...after doing a Google search for "Best Books for age 7." I value being able to listen to some of the audio book (under the book image) before I bought. I like the text and presentation. The final pages show more persons included in this inspiring biography series. Reviews were VERY positive. I'll be ordering more from this series.

Best biography series for kids
I have bought most of this series for my 6-year-old daughter and she loves them. It highlights important parts of each person's childhood through adulthood, pointing out obstacles they overcame and the amazing contributions they made to the world. They also sprinkle each book with humorous comments and really create a biography series that engages readers of all ages. New ones can't come out fast enough.

I LOVE these books!
Great series, I like them because they have good messaging without being overly PC or political. I hate the indoctrinating activism in many of the children’s books I see these days and the ordinary people series is spot on! My daughters favorites are Marie Curie, Emilia Earhart and Abraham Lincoln. So if you are looking for more than one you can’t miss with any of those. I am sure we will have them all at some point!

Eight-Year-Old Preferred This Book over Other Gifts
I brought my grandson a Nerf target item, and this book. He opened both, right away. But he headed off for some space on his own, because he wanted to read this book right away. I think it helped that he recognized the illustration style from an earlier book in this series -- really well done, and a marvelous way to introduce biographies of heroic people to young readers like this.

Great for kids
Kids love the book, the illustration are super cute and the way is written is perfect for the kids to understand, my kid loves it, she even asked to dress up like Mary Curie for a school project, we read it several times and she never gets bored.
