FMM Tree Bark and Brick Wall Impression Mat, Set 1

Used these to stamp patterns on our very sturdy/not edible gingerbread house pieces. Each family group chose what pattern to use on their house. Very easy to use. Baked the pieces then assembled the houses using got glue. The stamped patterns remained clearly defined from Thanksgiving weekend through Christmas. We will use these every year!!

This brand was recommended in a gingerbread house making book I had and they worked great. Would recommend

I have only used the wood grain mat as of yet, but it did the job beautifully. I impressed a fondant covered cake board with it then used a brush and wipe method to really get that wood grain look.Had it been just a bit easier to line up, or it would have received 5 stars, but I am still very happy with my purchase.

I'm not really pleased with this purchase. I was looking for a mold to make tree bark planks to put around the side of a round cake. These are only for making impressions. I had put the word mold in the search window, but I guess I didn't catch that they were only imression presses. I'm hoping I can melt chocolate, pour it into a sheet cake pan, wait for it to partially set up, thn make the bark impressions in it. Time will tell if it works out.

I bought this mat to use with modeling chocolate for my gingerbread house project. It worked perfectly! I used the woodgrain piece to make a front door and got rave reviews.

Nice sturdy mat but a little small to use for large projects. This would work well for fondant walk ways but doing it on the side of a cake was a bit difficult. I wasn't able to match the lines up well due to the coloring of the mat.

Works great but it was smaller than I was I had anticipated.

While I've only used the brick pattern so far, I expect the tree bark to be the same: very sturdy and easy to use. It worked great for the pyramid cake I made w/o fondant. Imprinted the pattern on decorator icing after it set up and it worked great.

I just wish it were bigger.

I used this for the first time tonight to press the wood grain effect into fondant as I am making picket fencing. It took a couple of goes to get used to using it, but am very happy with the results. When working with fondant I work on a silicone mat as this means I do not cover half the kitchen in icing sugar or vegetable lard. If you are using a good quality fondant that has been sat in a warm room for 24hrs or more it peels quite easily from the design.I would have preferred a handle on the back as this would make it easier to use, but overall I am very impressed with the wood grain effect it has given me.

Love this stuff! Really dresses up my fondant cakes!

I used the bark mat on modelling chocolate on a cake, and on cookie dough for some Groot cookies. It leaves a good impression, but the mat is quite small which makes it tricky for doing larger areas without getting an edge mark.

Too small...I wish I got a bigger one didnt check thesize when I ordered it.:-(
