Absolutely gorgeous black Shiva Lingam stone. For those in doubt—it’s definitely genuine. Mine did not have a wax coating but those who claim the stones are “fake” due to a coating don’t know what they’re talking about. It’s a common practice in India for the black Shiva Lingam stones to be polished with a black wax to bring out the shine. Having this does not mean it’s fake. Mine is nicely polished but in my case I feel the stone & not a waxy covering. It’s amazing to get this size of a black Shiva Lingam at such a wonderful price. This is a great find!!

My Black Shiva Lingam was on my door step this morning, nicely nestled in the box. Arrived quickly by express courier from India packed extremely well. It’s a beautiful piece I measured it at 8 inches tall and over 2 LBS. It is of excellent quality, a rare specimen. My daughter plans to make it a wooden stand to have a place of honor in her collection of precious stones. She is very happy with her gift. I received a well-packed stone. Having read the reviews prior to it arriving, the first thing I did was to check for wax by scratching the stone with my nail. There is a fine black wax coat on it. It isn't thick - it's somewhat similar to the wax coat that apples get. The wax coat would not aid in any protective way as far as shipping or prevent any damage from impacts or scratches. I scrubbed with soap and a toothbrush, ultimately I used a magic eraser sponge to get down to the surface of the stone, which was the best way to remove the wax. The stone's surface is dull like a natural stone and not glossy. I suspect that this stone is not capable of achieving a high-gloss with a polish and that the wax is to make it seem polished like a red/grey Shiva Lingam. The stone seems quite dark with the wax removed, other reviews note that their stone's color lightened to a grey. It may be dyed, I don't know - I will be bleach testing a spot to see if the color changes. I have not noticed any scratches on mine. I am not educated in stone so I can't attest to its authenticity as a black shiva lingam, but other than the wax coat it seems fine. I don't feel like the stone was smaller than advertised as other reviews have noted. Sizes are approximate. When dealing with natural products like stones, they aren't exactly sized so some will be larger and some smaller.

my only problem was with delivery, (that's why I gave it a 1 star for delivery), they just threw the box at my door and had to come quick to see what was the commotion and saw the box on the floor(luckily it was not broken).... Apart from that it's a huge and heavy stone, it met my expectation and am happy

I’m not 100% sure this rock hasn’t been shaped manually. It doesn’t look like the other rocks I have in my collection. Also, there is some kind of wax that smells like gasoline on the rock. I’ve washed it to try and remove it, but it still smells horrible. The wax is black so as I am cleaning the wax off the rocks true color is coming out and is a dark brown. Which is fine, and I still like it, but don’t advertise it as black and put a nasty smelling black wax on it to make it darker.

I work with Shiva Lingams in my daily Spiritual practice a lot and I can tell you the energy can vary a lot and I believe it's due to their origin. The Ligam I received is beautiful, powerful, and profound. I Am Grateful. Om Namah Shiavah. Thank you <3
