Works as advertised

I purchased this to use on my Campbell Hausfeld compressor which I bought used. The one that came with it was not unloading properly causing the compressor to struggle with restarting under pressure. That has been resolved with this valve. I was a bit surprised it did not come with the nut and compression for where the 1/2" line goes into the top of the valve. But it was not in the picture so can't really complain about it. After the installation it was leaking around the top connection since there was no brass compression ring. I had to buy one at the hardware, which was not a huge deal, to stop the leak - which it did. Just something to be aware of if you are planning to pick one of these up. Other than that, it went together smooth and resolved my compressor restart issues as expected. I can totally recommend this valve for others needing to replace one of this size. It's well made and comes with two fittings (minus the top nut and compression ring) and all threads have sealant making the installation pretty straight forward.

Fit great no leaks

I had acquired a Craftsman 25 gallon air compressor several years ago, but never used it, so it basically sat in my shed for years until I recently decided to get it up and running. I knew I needed to put in some fresh oil and check the main parts, including the check valve. When I took the old one out, it was somewhat corroded but still in working order, but I wanted to replace it with a new one just to be safe. Lo and behold, the exact replacement piece was no longer available. That's when I searched around and found this one, Hromee Air Compressor Replacement Components Brass 1/2 Inch MNPT Compressor in Tank Check Valve Kit . While the dimensions were slightly different (this one was slightly longer), it fit the tank perfectly and was a good replacement part. From what I can tell, the compressor is working perfectly and I have a brand new compressor for my shop. I would say just measure carefully and compare the old one to the new one as best as you can before ordering, because I actually had ordered another one first and top compression inlet was the wrong size so I had to send that one back. I would recommend this kit for replacing your check valve.

My compressor always leaked down to 0 in just a few hours. Holds 195 constantly now. I don't turn it on unless I need it but it always has pressure.

Low quality knock-off part is leaking. I removed it and looks clean with no obstructions. I can hear the check valve activate, but air continues to get through to the unloader. Update: seller stands behind product and warrantied it. My confidence and review are adjusted.

Perfect replacement for the Devilbiss Pro 4000 air compressor, although it was slightly longer than original. I have to point out that true measurement would have you looking for a different size, I think I wasted hours looking for 3/4 Inch instead of 1/2 but EVERYTHING said this air compressor original was 1/2 inch so I trusted it and ordered this. After ordering, I googled about size and learned when it comes to these kind of fittings size is never 'actual'. Fancy that, learned something new! Glad I found a manual and a parts list for this particular unit or I never would have known and probably ordered wrong size.

Compressor would stall and trip breaker on 2nd start ,I knew check valve was bad ...for 5 years..lol. All good now.
