Curt gets the job done.
Bought this hitch for my wife's 2025 Forester. It fit nicely, although putting a hitch on a Forester is not the easiest task. This is my 2nd hitch, on my 2nd Forester. Quality is excellent, although the hitch I got had a few scuffs on it. I would suggest to Curt to make the rectangle pieces that the carriage bolts fit into in the frame about 1/8 inch more narrow, so they can fit into the slightly larger hole that is not used for bolting, but had to be modified to get those pieces inside the frame. The holes farthest away from the bumper. Other than that... I'd say buy Curt and not Chinese... although I noticed they just raised the price on my Bronco hitch about 11% (ouch), and the Curt electronics seem a bit expensive for what you get.

The Best Trailer Hitch - Bar None!
It's a Curt. That should be all you need to know to convince you to buy it over everyone else. Installation was so easy, it should be illegal. First off, they provide videos here, YouTube and their company website, showing you how to install the hitch. The hardware is simple, straight forward and strong. Next, the fishing wires are absolutely foolproof, making it all but impossible to make a mistake. And since this is the second Curt hitch I've installed, I could tell they made the fishing wires even better! They added big, blunt caps on the end of the wires, so you don't poke your eye out while fiddling around under the vehicle! And really, the fishing wires are what make it so easy. I didn't have anyone to help me install it, so I was laying on the ground, with the hitch on my chest. I threaded the wires through the bolt holes on the hitch, then lifted it into place. The wires guide the hitch, and also keep the bolts from bumping up and getting lost in the frame! That's such a helpful detail! This is a company that LISTENS to their customers! So if you're looking for a quality, strong, durable, fairly-priced, well-thought out hitch for your vehicle, then stop right here and hit the add-to-cart button. And be sure to pick up Curt wiring harness, too! Just like their hitches, they provide detailed videos that show you how to connect and install the wiring harness.

Easy does it!
Trailer Hitch fits well on my 2021 Subaru Forester. Be sure to spend time installing the hitch (about 3 hours), easy does it!

Solid hitch, excellent craftsmanship.
Installed this hitch on my 2023 Subaru Forester with no issues. I don’t suggest someone with little mechanical capabilities attempt it, at least without expecting some serious effort or an experienced assistant. I recall an estimate of one hour for the installation, but being experienced at this type of this work , it took me 1.5 hours. The fit was great as were the instructions. Two tough steps were #1) enlarging two mounting holes from 1/2” to 1-1/8” dia. and # 2) lifting the hitch into place. On the #2 challenge I set up a jack to do the lifting and holding. Everything I need was included and the quality was great. I highly recommended this hitch.

Really nice hitch. Looks good and well documented installation. You can do this yourself.
This a top notch hitch. Well built and will serve you well. The online documentation for these are easy to follow with several videos to help. Just follow it 100% to the letter. The only ding is it's not 100% bolt on and this is on Subaru and not on Curt. You will have to make a few holes bigger with a step drill bit and seal the drilled holes with paint or POR-15 like I did. Minor headache but an additional trip to the store if you don't have the tools. I installed this on my 2020 Forester and it took me a morning to do it taking my time with a cup of coffee (or two).

Good, solid, mostly hidden hitch.
This is a good well built hitch that is mostly hidden once installed. The installation was a bit time consuming and requires some tooling. Removing the muffler is easier than just lowering it, supporting the exhaust and working around it(which is what the directions say). The directions also tell you to use a die grinder to enlarge the holes in the frame. While I have done that in the past a step drill that drills to 1 1/8 inch is much easier, and I suggest painting the bare metal after enlarging the holes to prevent rust;I waited overnight for the paint to dry. The directions state that the hitch covers the rear muffler heat shield bolt and it does but it is still very rigid when mounted. The hitch also covered the forward screw for the drivers underbody panel on my 2024 Forester. I would have drilled an access hole thru the hitch mount if I noticed this before tightening it down. This hitch rated for 3500 lbs and my Forester only tows 1500 so a small hole is no big deal in my opinion. Ultimately I drilled a small hole and used a sheetmetal screw for a replacement fastening point.

Product is great, packaging is a complete joke.
Aloha! This is my 3rd Curt Hitch for my 3rd Subaru Forester over the years. Great product, fair price, and SOLID! One thing that upsets me is that all three times I ordered the Curt hitch, the packaging came delivered literally shredded. This time, I had to take a picture of it because the box was busted open and the hitch was hanging halfway through with the exposed portion scratched up. The local, scrappy, all tatted up tough guy UPS driver was even laughing about it because it was so funny: "your new, da kine, all buss -up, eh? Brah!!" I know, its a hitch that goes under the car, and is expected to get dinged up, but I shouldn't have to reach for the can of rust-0-leum to repaint a brand new "OUT OF THE BOX" (Ha! Ha!) product. What's even more baffling is that I went back to read the reviews to see if other customers had the same problem and sure enough, there are lots of complaints about the half-assed packaging. Get with it! Easy to fix the packaging problem. 5 stars for the product, but negative 5 stars for the crappy packaging.
