Rust-Oleum 224284 Stops Rust Rust Inhibitor Spray, 10.25 oz

This is a very low viscosity oil used to reduce rusting on uncoated steel and iron. Works great for my purposes. I use it on the blades of hedge trimmers and hand shears and other yard/garden tools. I've used it on the mechanism of various adjustable wrenches, where it not only stops rust it also lubes them. Lots of various uses. Just be aware of what it is and that it is NOT paint.

Haven't seen what time does to the calipers and bolts I sprayed this with but like the glistening effects and the smell.

I like the spray and how it looks after drying. But the nozzle is to small to be reused later, and the hole plugs to easily.

After reading through the reviews, I was skeptical about ordering this product due to the claims that the product doesn't dry after application. I used this product in a bathroom with poor ventilation because some metal items in the bathroom tend to start rusting. At first when you apply it, it does have a greasy residue that seems like it would wipe off easily which might lead one to think that it won't dry. However, I applied it, let it dry overnight, and the next day it was completely dry and I didn't notice a residue or film whatsoever on the treated surfaces. I might add that I did quite a thick application of the stuff, so I am more than pleased with the ability of this product to dry and adhere to the metal surface. Perhaps the other reviewers didn't give it adequate time to dry and adhere. I will come back in a few months and give it 5 stars if it actually does its job and prevents rust from forming.

Purchased this to help prevent rust on a poolside basketball hoop, specifically where the screws had started to rust and leave streaks. The product was easy to apply and dries quickly. After a month we are pleased to say there are no rust streaks.

More like wd40, not a clear paint like I was looking for. Didn’t heed warning from reviews. Didn’t work for what I needed it. I had a cute indoor watering can from target that is metal, but was showing rust in some spots and I wanted to seal it before it got worse. This oil got all in the water and proceeded to rust the can anyway.
