My son uses these pants for umpiring, and they’re perfect! It’s tough to find “dress” pants that fit younger kids properly, but these do the trick. Very nice school pants for my son ...what I love most about them are how comfortable my son are in them with much moving room

These are probably the most well-constructed, durable uniform pants my son has had. A lot of reviews indicated that they ran too slim. My son wears slims in all his pants and always does best with adjustable waistbands, like these have. The Dickies do not seem overly slim at all, but fit him well. He is seven years old, in first grade, weighs around 48 pounds and does very well in the size 8 pants that I bought him, although they are a bit long. They look nicer and hold their color better than any other navy pants he has worn. The reinforced knees are great. One caution--I did not expect the small Dickies logo on the back of the pants. We are getting away with it at school, but if your school is strict on that, be aware that it is there.

Good fit

My son has to wear dress pants to school and is always wearing out the knee. I gave these a try and LOVED them. These pants are thick, durable and have a reinforced knee. After several months of my 8 year old climbing on playgrounds, diving in grass and skidding on the floor in them, there are still no holes! My son also has trouble with traditional buttons, so the slide hook made it easy for him. He is very tall and thin, so I found them actually to be the right length, but were slightly big. The waste is adjustable, so it was not problem. It seems other have complained about them being small, so if your worried, you can order one size bigger and tighten by adjusting the waste band. I have ordered several other pairs and they are great. I did also try the pleated pair, but they were not adjustable and were too big for my son, so I sent it back and got another flat front pair.

These Dickie's pants for my son fit perfect. He is a big kid husky size and about 23 inches from the waist. I order him a 18 - 20 Husky. The shirt is the same thing. Keep in mind these are true to fit so know the waist dimension first. The length will always be lengthy. This the real material of Dickie's no third-party brand knock off.

Ordered these because I was given 3 days to find black pants for my kid, and the Children's Place ones I previously ordered weren't available in his size (16). My kid is on the skinnier side, but these were big--I had to take in the waist as far as it would go. They also have a 30" inseam, which in on the longer side. They feel polyester and not great. I wouldn't wear them. Honestly, if I had had time to order something else, I probably would have. But I didn't. And I couldn't find anything locally. The price is good and they would probably last a long time. My son needed them for a school performance and graduation, and he'll probably never wear them again, so I didn't want to spend a lot. From that standpoint they were good.

Reinforced knees a plus for rough and tumble boys

Actually ordered 2 dickies and only got one and another brand of trousers, worked out all good tho cause my son loves both.

These trousers are a lovely a thick fabric with reinforced knees so great for my son to do his skateboarding in. He has a skinny waist and they fit perfect. He turned up the bottoms to get the right length which is not a problem. I'm very impressed with the quality of these trousers.
