Review: More exercises, great options, no more boredom - I've been using kettlebells for a little over a year now and I was ecstatic when I first was introduced. I bought a total of 5 bells, a few books and DVDs to get started. After a while I got bored and stopped using them as much. Same exercises day in and day out -- BORING and sad :( I needed more and this book definitely has it. More exercises with and without the KB. New stretch ideas and new KB moves. I really like it. Not only does it have new information, it also has a bunch of workouts with different rounds. I don't have to conjure them up myself (I am not very good at that). I did one work out this morning (day after receiving the book) and I easily used up an hour of time. If you're bored with your KB workouts and need a few new ideas to guide you, I recommend this book. It has pictures and descriptions to guide you. I will be utilizing this book for quite some time. THANKS and Keep Fit!!! Review: DIY-based workout plans - If you want a book that contains a lot of guided, pre-made workouts, this is not it. It has some sample workouts, but is more focused on developing your own program, which may not be ideal for beginners or someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of time and energy on it. I did like how it had some new moves from the other books I was using, and there are detailed descriptions and photos of each technique. I also liked how it incorporated bodyweight moves into the sample routines. I noticed some of the demo pictures of squat techniques had the models going very low- way lower than what I was taught as good squatting form, but if it works for you, go for it. This is a non-issue for some people, but I wasn't crazy about how they advocate doing doubles for advanced modifications since it means you have to have two of each kind of kettlebell and personally, I got into kettlebells partly to reduce the number of weights I had lying around. Overall though, a very good book to mix it up with.

Great tips
Love this book a great detail with the amount of exercises you can do especially if you don't like cardio and you would want to use kettlebells to get your heart rate up. I use the kettlebells everyday with the workouts I learned from this book

Kettlebells from Beginner to Advanced!
I am a personal trainer and began using various exercises from Spartan Warrior Workout: Get Action Movie Ripped in 30 Days with my clients. It was my introduction to any kettlebell exercises, and I quickly recognized their value in whole-body fitness! I really liked Dave Randolph's ability to develop a progressive program for people of all fitness levels, so I purchased The Ultimate Kettlebell Workbook to have some different training programs in my library. Honestly, I was expecting the same kettlebell exercises from The Warrior Workout, just laid out in different programs. I was very pleased to see a variety of different modifications and difficulty levels for the kettlebell exercises! The book definitely exceeded my expectations and gave me new ways to view the kettlebell exercises.

Kettlebells for total body strength and conditioning
The Ultimate Kettlebell Workbook is a very good workout book. After learning how to handle the KB's, you the follow the workout routines. The KB's build total body strength, not ripped muscles like a bodybuilder, but total core strength. The KB's show you how out of shape you are, vs how good of shape you think you are. The best thing about KB's, is the aerobic (high heart rate) exercise you get while working out, while building body strength. Back to the book, You can learn how to design your own workouts, without going to another book or DVD. It is the total package from beginner to advanced. Steve M.

Really solid guide
My buddy and I have put this book to good work over the past few weeks. We've gone through 4 of the workouts and really liked 3 of them. One of the strength workouts didn't really do it for us (or at least me). I really like that all the moves are well explained/documented in the back. My friend and I were looking for some new KB routines after going through some of our other KB workouts, and this book has provided that to us.

A superb Kettlebell instruction manual
This is one of the most detailed instruction manuals on the proper use of the Kettlebell(s) for physical fitness on the market. If you're truly serious about your Kettlebell training and want to take it too the next level; you NEED this book! The author presents the Kettlebell exercises in an easy to understand format with detailed instruction for each exercise. Also ... once you become familiar with the basic exercises you can "tailor make your own exercise regime". HIGHLY ... HIGHLY ... HIGHLY ... RECOMMEND

informative but kindle format is hard to use
There's plenty of information in this book but it's very hard to use in a kindle format. For example, the beginner exercise list includes the "2-Hand Swing". OK, so I go to look for that. Well it lists a page number. There are no page numbers on a Kindle. OK plan B: table of contents. Nope, not in there, there is a section about swings though. OK plan C: read it on the PC and search for the phrase "2-Hand Swing". Third match is a hit. This means that I basically have to go through and make a highlight for all of the exercises in the book that I want to use. Lot of work when the publisher could have done that for me (by placing hyperlinks in the text next to the exercises). Also the images of the workout list are hard to read on the kindle and should be reformatted.

Better than Pavels.
Before i reivew the book a bit of background might be of interest. I came to Kettlebell training after spending the past 20 years or so dabbling at weight training (dumbells and barbells) and body building. Most of us have lifted weights at some time or another, some more serious than others. My job requires that i need to be stronger than the average joe so, some kind of resistrance training is important to me. I was training around average 3 times a week, usual basicas of squats, bench pressing, rowing etc.. and would consider myself a reasonably serious weight trainer and above the average joe in terms of strength, muscle etc. I considered Kettlebells to be nothing more than a "passing fad". A work colleague mentioned Kettle bells to me several times in the past few years (he was an convert to Kettlebells after lifting conventioanl weigths for many years), he was tall, lean but very strong,( soon realised much stonger than me). I was bored with the usual weight training routine, and tired of the constant niggling injuries that kept cropping up, so i thought id order a 16kg kettlebell and give it a go. All i can say is that i wont be going back to conventional weight training ever again, My bench, dumbells and barbells have long since been packed away soon to be sold off! Since using Kettlebells Ive lost pounds of fat, gained more muscle tone than i have ever had before and have a spring in my step that i havent had since i was a teenager, my body moves as a whole unit more effectively now, thanks to Kettlebells. Kettlebells work, they build functional muscle that carries over into your life. But to beleive it, you have to do it. This book is a good introduction into safe, effective Kettlbell training, i personally think its better than Pavels, though Pavels DVDs are worth a look. This book is a great starter to the world of Kettlebell training. (And for all those of you out there whom think Kettlebells are no good for building size and power, check out Steve Cotter on youtube. He has a better physique than most "body builders" and his stregth is real, not "all show and no go" that most body builders have)

Genau was ich wollte

Kindle version embedded with malicious ads by seller
One of the better books out there and is far superior to the one from Knopf. However: 1. full-page ads are embedded into the e-book by the seller. When you swipe to turn the page, your browser automatically opens and takes you to a place called "early bird books" to buy more e-books from them. You'll also get bombarded daily with multiple emails to buy from them. 2. e-book is a locked pdf that doesn't display correctly on the Kindle. Half the pic can appear on the bottom of one page, and the other half on the top of the next. There can also be just one word or line on the next page, if the entire page doesn't fit on the screen. 3. E-book oftentimes causes kindle to unexpectedly abort.
