How much eye shadow, water and how much of this product would you use to make watercolor paints?

Unfortunately the answer is really that it depends and you need to experiment. It depends on what you want in terms of density and look in your paints.In commercial water colors the amount of pigment to binder can vary from 10 to over 50% pigment. Your eye shadow will have its own binders/fillers so a reasonable starting point might be 1 part pigment to 1 part gum with enough water to get the consistency you want. Keep in mind that a little bit of water color paint goes a long way - 1/8 tsp of each will certainly be enough to experiment with (use an eye dropper for adding water). Too much gum will give your paint a glossy sheen, too much pigment will reduce the working time of the paint and make it difficult to control the consistency.

Yes, it is a fine grain powder.  Put it in first by the way or else it will sit on the surface unless stirred vigorously.

Hi. Yes, you can use it for cooking. Though I am a huge fan of Amazon, (I love Amazon!!) I think this product for consumption could best be bought from Mountain Rose Herbs (.com). It is listed as Acacia (gum Arabic). For food products they have experience, and it is no small thing, in my humble opinion. If someone is wanting gum Arabic for cooking that means they've probably  been doing some research about gut health and most likely have some health issues. Mountain Rose knows all about this.

This product, as it is listed here is perfect for mixing with pigment for watercolor, printmaking, tempera, inks and more. You can use it to create make-up or face paints with pigment (non-toxic). An example is you can make a paste of gum Arabic and mix it with hibiscus powder for a pink-red lip gloss or blush, nutmeg for a brown eye shadow or blush, and so on. The sky is the limit, here.

I use it also for art projects. I like to create a clear, thin liquid by mixing it with water, painting it onto an acrylic board, let it dry, then paint a watercolor scene onto the dried surface. If you then run a print with paper that is damp you have a monograph. It is an amazing printmaking technique, is acid-free and archival quality.. Good luck!!!

Approximately how much would you say this is by volume? (I.e. teaspoons, tablespoons, etc.)

When I Googled this question, one ounce is about two tablespoons.However, when I used this to make gouache, the ratio between the pigment and this product was 1 (pigment): 2 (Gum Arabic). The distilled water used to make this was an equal amount of parts when compared to the pigment, making the gouache recipe be 1 (pigment):2 (Gum Arabic):1 (water)To create a classic watercolor, the ratio was 1 (pigment):1/2 (Glycerol):1/4 (Gum Arabic). The distilled water amount was used as needed to make this type of paint. Overall, this product is more cost-effective than its liquid form! If you want to make watercolors, buy this product and never look back!
