Worth the investment.
Upgraded to this from the UB150, the difference is quite staggering. Interface is better and more intuitive sound and picture quality is excellent. Am fed up with robbing streaming services, and i quite enjoy watching movies again and again, so its 4K blu rays from now on. On added bonues is the quality of CDs being played tnrough my samsung soundbar....surprisingly quite good. Not a match for my seperates set up, but more than adequate for casual listening. Overall very impressed.

The Panasonic DP-UB150 is THE very best 4K player
Believe me when I say this - the Panasonic DP-UB150 is THE very best affordable 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player on the market. This was the first player I bought for 4K viewing, and can confirm that is by far the best. Playback is both solid and reliable, so you can purchase with confidence. The player is nice and compact too. Remote is also of good size and quality, and always responsive. Playability is phenomenal. The picture & sound quality are second to none. Really quite impressive. I've tried and tested the model which come along after this one, and it wasn't a patch on the DP-UB150. Oh, and Panasonic 4K players beat Sony's efforts, hands down (my Sony 4K player barely lasted a month before it packed up working!). The Panasonic DP-UB150 is recommended 100% 👌 Picture Quality ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Sound ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Overall rating ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Incredible picture quality, but you have to fight the settings first. Details included in my review
Dolby Vision is not enabled by default. Out of the box, this works fine for TVs that do not support Dolby Vision. However, if you have a Dolby Vision–capable OLED (or similar), the default settings are wrong. They can be changed, but it took me longer than it should have to realise what was going on. You need to enable Dolby Vision manually in the HDMI settings, then go into the advanced picture options and set the TV type to OLED. Once that is done, the image snaps into place. After that, you still have the usual TV-side settings to sort out. In short, whatever TV you own, this is not really a plug-and-play device. You do need to spend time setting up both the player and the television properly. There is also the HDR Optimiser for standard HDR10 discs, which is extremely useful, but oddly hidden. You can only access it by long-pressing the HDR button on the remote while a standard HDR movie is actively playing. It does not appear in the normal menu system. Once you know it is there, it is powerful and effective, but discovering it feels more like learning a cheat code than using a consumer product. Where it genuinely loses a point is the locked standby timer. If you pause playback for more than about fifteen minutes, the player powers itself off and this behaviour cannot be disabled. That would be annoying but tolerable if all UHD discs resumed properly. Some do not. When that happens, you are forced to hunt manually for your place again. That is poor design, full stop. I do not mind the menu system at all. The remote is classic Panasonic, very similar to their older TVs and players. The menus are archaic and slightly odd, but in a way I quite like. It feels like proper equipment rather than a smart device, which suits the role perfectly.

Brilliant player.
Plays all dvds. 4k and old ones. Brings old ones to life. 4k is like you're there. Great picture.

An outstanding product
While I was researching for the most capable (and affordable) Blu-Ray player that would enhance the performance of my LaserTV Projector and ALR screen, the Panasonic DP-UB20EB was the obvious choice. Its 4K high-precision Chroma Processor produces outstanding colours, bringing natural images to the screen. The images are vibrant with exceptional detail, creating a visually immersive experience! I was pleasantly surprised at the rich quality produced by the automatic upscaling of Blu-Ray (HD) content. Even some basic DVD discs resembled high-definition. The player made my projector’s Dolby Atmos sound richer and more captivating than ever before! I was particularly excited about the bass as it is now much clearer and well-defined. Furthermore, the ‘Dialog Enhancer’ feature makes it easier to hear speech without needing to raise the volume too high. Though the player’s Remote Control works well, I replaced it with the Panasonic DP-UB9000 Remote Control (bought separately) as I preferred its layout and it has a backlight for use in a dark room. Admittedly, the Panasonic DP-UB20EB is a considered purchase, if you are on a budget. But after assessing its overall amazing picture and sound quality, upscaling capabilities, HDR processing, and its smooth, uninterrupted playback, I can only conclude that this award-winning product delivers as promised. This beast offers sensational performance and I can confidently recommend it.

Best ever picture quality.
In the past I have always gone for middle of the range blu ray/ 4k players players thinking they were a good mix of picture quality and price. My aging Arcam CD player had just given up the ghost so after some research I wanted to see if I combine the two players. I prized my wallet open with a lot of sweating and hit the buy now button. From the outset I was not disappointed, unpacking it you could see and feel the quality, after an easy setup I placed a 4k lord of the rings in, the colours popped out of the screen hues were rendered perfectly, with even the fastest scenes tracking without issue and smoothly. When it came to dark scenes it pulled out so much information while still keeping the scenes inky black. Only one slight negative if you can call it that, is the menus are slightly slower than anticipated. Putting a CD in I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and depth of the sound stage. A worthy buy and I am happy I took the plunge. Needs decent equipment to bring out its fullest potential.

Best 4K UHD Player under £900
Great 4k Ultra HD Blue Ray Player. I returned the recommended Sony player as it didn't have Wifi and the sound quality was terrible. This machine although £100 more expensive has almost everything you could possibly want, picture and sound quality are excellent, it has wifi for upgrades and YouTube, Netflix etc. It upscales older disks and even plays my 3D Blue Rays perfectly. One criticism is that it doesn't have an optical sound output so cannot be connected directly to my Hifi without buying an extra converter box for the second HDMI output. Highly recommended as the next best player is over £900!

Good
Lost a star because it’s quite noisy, otherwise a great 4k player, decent (if a little slow response time) remote, simple to use. Decent value.
