What is the difference between the ashford 16" rigid heddle loom and the ashford 16" sampleit loom?

- The standard loom is slightly longer front to back - The standard loom is built out of heavier wood. - They both come with double heddle brackets and use the same reeds. - If you want and very durable and strong loom go with the standard. - If you want a petite loom go with the sampleIt. - The standard might have a slightly larger shed than the sampleit. - My guess is that the standard 16 might be discontinued at some time in the future since they both occupy the same product niche. The 16 inch width probably does not need to be built out of such thick wood like the standard 16.

how much warp can be put on this loom?

Most of the scarves that I weave are 60 inches in length. To allow for fringe and waste I normally warp 87 inches. So I know it can at least hold that amount, but I'm sure I could warp 100 inches with no problem. Hope that helps.

A rigid heddle doesn’t have any shafts. For that you need a table or floor loom. That being said, rigid heddles are easy to use and quite versatile. They are a great beginning loom. I have a rigid heddle and also a 4 shaft floor loom. Both are enjoyable.

Is it big enough to make an eighteen in pillow cover?

You will need the 24" to be able to make a 18 in pillow cover. Annie
