Bamboo Toilet Seat Round w/Brushed Nickel Hinge, Natural Bamboo

Very nice toilet seat cover! It’s thick and sturdy. Was easy to install. It also is very smooth to the touch and it’s not cold like the stupid plastic one that came with the toilet.

I bought this as my previous seat was very loose and the plastic hinge finally broke. This new seat is very solid with all metal material at the hinge. It’s rock solid with no movement. Cleaning is easy as there are no covers and very few creases or spaces to hide. The bamboo is very solid and ergonomically shaped to be very comfortable. I’m over 6’ and 200# and it’s perfect. The color is a nice light oak type of brown and matches my modern oak floors nicely. A little bit lighter and more yellow but the contrast looks great. It aligns perfectly with my American Standard elongated toilet. This is actually lighter weight than my previous American Standard seat. The 4 bumpers hold it nicely in place and it closes easily, although not soft close. Install was easy…..5 minutes.

We bought a Kohler Cimarron toilet for one of our bathrooms in our new condo. The toilet is fine (though not as good as the Toto we purchased for the other bathroom). The included toilet lid is a soft-closing toilet lid. Cute, but really unnecessary. The included lid is also cold, flexible, and has become loose at the screws which use a plastic nut. We bought this TOPSEAT Native Impression Elongated Toilet Seat for the Toto toilet in the other bathroom and it has none of these drawbacks: seat is warm, firm, and no signs of loose screws. We are buying a second TOPSEAT Native Impression Elongated Toilet Seat to replace the substandard seat and lid provided by Kohler.

Let's begin with the seat / lid, because that's 95% of the ballgame here. This really is a well-crafted, durable seat and lid made from real wood. It's solid, heavy, and looks great. More importantly, it's obvious that the seat will last. The hinges are metal, and just as durable. These should last every bit as long as the seat. Where it falls a bit short is with the simple plastic mounting nuts (similar to pretty much every other seat out there) that come without any washers or other things to help secure the seat further. While this isn't a deal-breaker, the result is that without modding a little there is a slight bit of side to side play. Not the kind where you can wiggle the seat from side to side with your hands while facing it, but rather the kind where the seat can sort "wander" to one side a bit if you are seated on it and leaning to one side (if you follow my meaning). It's not substantial; let's call it half an inch or so. Not the end of the world, but these things matter to some. I bought and installed two of these, one for each bathroom. One I installed as is right out of the box; one I added washers to each side of the bowl for each bolt using the provided nut. It's an improvement, but the bottom line is that I'm pleased with both. I may yet circle back and replace the nuts--truly the one thing Topseat could have done better on. It kills me to knock a star off for something trivial like that, but it would be great to have everything I need in the box rather than having to head to the hardware store. Still, as the title says: this is an exceptional seat and lid, and despite the mounting hardware I'd recommend it.

Nice and smooth quality, lightweight and was easy to install. Looks nice in my bathroom as I replaced old crummy heavy cheap wooden one from years ago. Would definitely recommend and worth the money.

Who reviews toilet seats? I guess I do because this is a nice toilet seat. I guess others like it because I saw relatives replace their toilet seat with this one. The wood makes normally cold feeling bathrooms a bit more friendly with something more akin to furniture. It is an easy keeper.

While it will be a couple of weeks before I actually get to use it, I will say it is really good looking. I took a chance with no prior review and it looks like I hit the jackpot. Fits my toilet well. The brushed nickel hinges are much better looking than the photograph in the listing, they exude high quality (there are two matching phillips head screws holding each hinge and one of the four was, well not loose, not driven home - a very small negative). Most relatively low cost toilet seats listed on Amazon have many complaints about hinges, despite a high star rating overall. Another issue some have with some toilet seats is the supporting rubber pads, some saying more is better to stop wiggling. This one only has 2 rectangular pads on the seat 3/4 by 1 3/4 inches long, and two round 3/4" pads on the cover. The hinge design is not rigid enough to stop sideways movement of either the seat or cover, so it remains to be seen if the pads are sticky enough to prevent movement. I doubt it will bother me if it does, just throwing that out there for those concerned.

When my toilet began leaking this past winter, my landlord's maintenance team decided to install a brand new toilet. Great... except that they threw out my bamboo toilet seat that I'd had for nearly 10 yrs. Upon searching for a new one, there were many choices... but choosing one online was not a pleasant experience. I'd already set the parameter that my new toilet seat must be bamboo for it's denseness and hydrophobic quality. As much as I wanted a 100% natural bamboo seat with a darker finish, the other models I looked at did not seem legit, but this model from Topseat is a actually made of bamboo. The finish is a bit light for my taste... but I know it will naturally darken with use. The circumference is also super-tight! The seat is actually smaller than the diameter of the exterior of my toilet bowl, which is suboptimal. The real sticking point for me, though, is the plastic thumbscrews provided to attach the seat to my toilet bowl: not only are the screw-posts smaller in diameter than any toilet I've previously purchased, but the thumbscrews have no "wing" to aid in fully securing the seat to the bowl. The plastic "thumbscrew" has ridges that help turn it, but do not supply the proper torque to fully screw it down. For this reason, I had to give the TOPSEAT "Native Impression" Round Toilet Seat w/Brushed Nickel Hinges a 1-star review in the "Easy to Install" category. @Topseat: Send me proper thumbscrews (preferably high-grade aluminum) that fit your posts, and I will happily give you 5-stars on installation! But you still get only 4-stars for comfort due to the diameter of the seat.
