Shaving Soap

I heard all the hype about Proraso shaving soaps but never tried them before. I somehow (mistakenly) believed that these gourmet handmade artisan soaps were somehow better products, and felt better supporting small artisans instead of some big corporation. Boy was I wrong. Those 'artisan' soaps all smelled lousy, every single one of them that I tried (dozens) smelled super cheap like the dollar store candle section. First thing I noticed when I opened this Proraso was that the smell is excellent, extremely fresh with a hint of menthol/eucalyptus. Then when I went to lather it, I was blown away with how quickly it lathered. I slapped some on my scruffy beard and got to work. I immediately felt the slight tingle from the menthol/eucalyptus; nothing crazy but just a hint that you know it's there. After one pass with the razor I knew I found THE soap for me. This stuff is amazing, and it's super SLICK. Effortless razor glide across scruffy beard hairs. I use an aggressive DE safety razor with a lot of exposed blade, and for a while I started to question if it was too aggressive. Nope, it's perfect, I had been using the wrong soap. Before using this soap I used to have to use a fresh blade for every shave to get the performance I wanted, but now I can go five or six shaves on the same blade before I start to notice any tugging. I'm so glad I tried this stuff and won't be using anything else. I tried the sensitive skin stuff too, performance is equally amazing with that but the only difference is that doesn't have the tingly menthol. I personally like both and happily switch between the two. They last a long time too, much longer than what I was getting out of those artisan soaps.

Look, this is a Proraso shaving soap. Pair this with a nice brush, your favorite DE blade and razor, and enjoy your morning grooming routine. Is it slick? Sure it is. Does it afford sufficient cushion? Again, yes. You can face lather, or bowl lather... come on, it comes in a handy plastic tub, so give face lathering a go. In a bowl? just scoop out a small amount, say the scoop the size of the tip of a teaspoon will do your face, and head if you're a head shaver. This is a fantastic selection for the Summer, and warmer weather, as the menthol/eucalyptus has a welcome cooling effect, with a great scent to go with it. The scent is not overpowering, and won't last - so pair it with the matching aftershave splash. Want to go the whole nine yards? Use this soap, use the matching aftershave splash, and then layer on the after shave balm for sensitive skin; the green tea and oatmeal is a neutral scent, and won't interfere with your aftershave splash, or cologne. Don't forget to hit your skin with an alum block or bar right after the shave, for a step towards shaving nirvana!

With over 30 years of scraping sharpened steel across my face, I've come to the conclusion that the key to a close, comfortable shave is less about the razor and its blades as it is about the lubrication provided by the soap or cream being used. I purchased a tub of PRORASSO EUCALYUPTUS AND MENTHOL 5 months ago, have been using it daily and I'm pleasantly surprised by the results. WHAT IT IS: - A plastic tub holding 5.2 oz. of softened shaving soap. A shaving brush can be "loaded" right in the tub. TEACHING AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS: - Fleeing the disposable razor cult allowed me to see that there was a better shaving world out there. The old method of spraying a glob of gel, smearing it all over my face and using that single application to shave my skin from every direction is officially over. No more dragging a blade across unlubricated skin after the initial "with the grain" shaving pass removed all the cream ... not good. Sure, it got the job done, but my skin burned, there was irritation around my neck and there were annoying "rough" patches left behind (because not all hairs grown in the same direction). To be honest, I never thought of adding a second, third or even fourth application of gel for the subsequent "against the grain", "from the side" and "touch-up" passes ... using a can of shaving gel a week wasn't appealing and I never saw anyone else do it. There had to be a better way to shave. WHY PRORASO: - First of all, this stuff has been around forever; it's an icon of shaving. Honestly, in this day and age, that means something ... - Unlike most every shaving gel/cream/soap I'd used over the years, PRORASO provides a rich lather without "glopping up" my razor and that helps prolong the effectiveness of the blade. A simple rinse clears any soap and hair buildup on the blade(s). - I can swirl a wet shaving brush directly into the tub of Proraso for several seconds and get enough soap to squeeze out four facial applications to provide enough lubrication for my four shaving passes (with the grain, against the grain, from the side and touch ups). No more dry shaves! - One tub of Proraso has lasted 5 months and counting (shaving daily)! - The refreshing eucalyptus and menthol provide a cool, refreshing and tingling sensation to the skin that becomes more pronounced with each subsequent application. The fourth (final) application is when the menthol's coolness really kicks in. While I have gladly been using a double-edge safety razor for the last 6 months, I would highly recommend PRORASO to compliment any shave, regardless of the razor being used. I believe the most crucial element of a quality close shave is the lubrication factor of the shaving cream as it allows the razor to do its work without damaging your skin. PRORASO provides the necessary lubrication without mucking up your blades and this means your blades last longer. Longer blade life and the ability to get up to 6 months of daily shaving from a single tub of Proraso should certainly lessen the financial burden of shaving. The best aspect, however, is the ability to get a really close (baby smooth) shave without irritating the skin.

Does the job and it does it very well, a good soapy lather with minimal effort that makes the blade glide and does not clogg it up, no razor burn and leaves you feeling refreshed, its bloody good, you won't be disappointed a cracking soap you will not be disappointed, the blades I use are fusion 5 and woth this soap 20 shaves no problem 😊

Ich bin vor Kurzem vom Dosenschaum auf Rasiercremes und -seifen umgestiegen, da ich in letzter Zeit sehr unzufrieden mit der Konsistenz diverser "Fertigprodukte" war. Irgendwie wurde der Dosenschaum immer dünnflüssiger und die ohnehin kaum vorhandenen Gleiteigenschaften wurden weiterhin verschlechtert, dafür tropfte während der Rasur eine nicht unerhebliche durch Wasser verdünnte Menge von dem Zeug auf den Fußboden. Da ich ohnehin im Begriff war, vom Systemrasierer Gillette Fusion mit seinen völlig überteuerten Klingen auf einen klassischen Hobel umzusteigen kaufte ich kurzerhand einen Pinsel und auf Empfehlung diverser Leute in Rasurforen sowie Rezensenten hier bei Amazon die Proraso Rasierseife im 150ml-Tiegel. Das Produkt wird in einem Plastiktiegel geliefert, welcher auch zum Aufschäumen benutzt werden kann. Ich allerdings nehme zunächst eine bestimmte Menge dieser Seife mit dem angefeuchteten Pinsel auf und verrühre sie in einer separaten Schüssel zu einem cremigen Schaum. Dieser lässt sich wunderbar im Gesicht auftragen. Den mentholigen Duft empfinde ich als angenehm, auch tritt durch die ätherischen Öle eine gewisse Kühlwirkung ein, die ich allerdings als nicht so extrem empfinde wie manch anderer Rezensent hier. Die Seife lasse ich ca. 3 Minuten einwirken ehe dann der Rasierhobel an die Haut gesetzt wird. Die Rasur lässt sich wirklich sehr angenehm bewerkstelligen, da die Proraso eine hervorragende Gleitwirkung (im Gegensatz zum Dosenschaum) erzielt. Die Klinge gleitet sauber über die Haut, man kann das typische Rasurgeräusch beim Schneiden der Haare vernehmen. Hautirritationen im Form von Rötungen, Spannungen oder gar Rasurbrand habe ich bislang nicht gehabt! Auch ist die Konsistenz des Schaumes fest genug um eben NICHT während der Rasur auf den Fußboden zu tröpfeln, vorausgesetzt man verwendet beim Schlagen des Schaums nicht zu viel Wasser. Ein weiterer positiver Aspekt ist die Nachhaltigkeit der Rasur: im Gegensatz zum Dosenschaum sind Rasierseifen und -cremes alkalisch. Somit quellen sie durch die Einwirkzeit die Haut auf und erweichen das Barthaar, welches weiter aus den Poren geschoben und somit wesentlich tiefer abgeschnitten wird. Nach der Rasur reinige ich das Gesicht zunächst noch einmal mit warmen Wasser und zu guter Letzt wasche ich mit kaltem Wasser nach, um die Poren zu schließen. Eventuelle kleine Blutungen werden hierdurch gestoppt. Zuletzt noch ein After Shave aufgelegt, starte ich in den Tag. Ich bin mit dem Proraso-Produkt sehr zufrieden, mag den Duft, die kühlende Wirkung und die tolle Gleitfähigkeit der Klinge durch den cremigen Schaum. Leider gibt es Proraso-Produkte im stationären Einzelhandel SELTENST zu kaufen, so dass man sie über das Internet beziehen muss. Da mir diese Rasierseife gut gefällt werde ich mit Sicherheit auch mal die anderen Duftrichtungen (weißer bzw. roter Tiegel) testen. Aber gerade jetzt in den Sommermonaten finde ich die leicht kühlende Wirkung des Produkts sehr angenehm und erfrischend. Da ich die Seife erst bekommen und noch keine weiteren Erfahrungswerte habe bin ich mal gespannt, wie lange ich mit diesem Tiegel auskomme. Es heißt ja, sie sei sehr ergiebig.

Très bonne marque, je l'utilise depuis plus de 10 anser j'en suis très satisfait. La mousse est de bonne qualité et fait bien glisser le rasoir tout en protégeant la peau. Très bon rapport qualité-prix

自分にとってベストのシェービングソープ。ポロラーソ（オメガ製）のシェービングブラシを器の中で15回位回した後顔の上で泡立てて剃り始める朝のルーチンワーク。シェービングソープとしての泡立ち、粘り、清潔感と爽快感を感じさせるユーカリの香り、に満足。イタリアと日本の間にある場所でコピー品が作られていない事を祈りながら今後もリピートすると思う。
