The sundial was made of slate and was of substantial thickness and weight. I gave it four stars because both the dial and the disc were chipped, but not bad enough to return.

Broken
It is beautiful, sure would love it more if it were whole. Forgive my ignorance at the name of the part but the skinny arm that throws the shadow was broken in half… bought this a little while ago and it sat on my counter under some mail. Remembered to put it out today because my son is studying the sun and we were disappointed to see it broken… but he still had fun…

Slate Sundial
Arrived well packed in perfect condition. Heavy piece of gray/ blue slate, marked in Roman Numerals. It sits upon the perfect stand giving it a look of ancient authenticity, a concrete birdbath base, weather seasoned for years. Beautiful piece of garden art, that I understand will tell the time if properly aligned. Perfect all season addition to my garden.
