I haven't taken this off the camera since I got it.
I got this for my Olympus Pen E-PL2, so if you have a heavier/larger camera your experience may be different. I've been using this several months, and so far, I really love it! I know from experience that I never use neck straps for my camera, and my old bridge point-and-shoot has the dings and scratches to show what happens when you try to use the neck strap that comes with the camera on your shoulder. I can't count the number of times I dropped it or banged it into a wall or rail. So about 90% of the time I ended up wrapping the neck strap around my wrist, and carrying the camera in my hand. I'd been doing the same with my Olympus, but I knew that was not the safest way to go about things with a newer, nicer camera, especially with an expensive lens on it, so I bought this dedicated wrist strap. This is just a simple neoprene sort of strap that goes on your wrist with a slider thing to tighten it. I have small wrists, but it tightens securely enough for me to feel safe with it. I still keep the camera in my hand most of the time rather than letting it dangle, but this feels pretty safe to me. I chose this one because many other straps I saw screwed onto the tripod mount, which I don't like. I hooked this one onto the built-in strap rings on the camera. I carried the camera around Machu Picchu with this on my wrist, and had no problems. (I think if I go again I'll get a cross-body sling strap though - sometimes you need both hands there, as there are LOTS of steep stairs and uneven rocks to clamber over.) I took the neck strap with me in case I needed it, but never put it on the camera the entire week I was traveling. I'm almost certainly going to be carrying the camera around Walt Disney World with this strap in a month or so. The neck strap had always been in the way for me, but this is smaller and much easier to manage, even if you grab the camera and don't put it on your wrist, it's less likely to be falling in front of the lens or catching on things. On the down side, my wrist did get a little sweaty under it during the hot part of the day, but this was a pretty minor inconvenience. I like having the camera always at hand and ready to shoot, and this is made of grippy enough material that I don't fear it sliding off my wrist. Worth what I paid for it!

Great for security
I bought this to use with my Olympus OM-D. They illustrate attaching it to the right strap lug, which works well if you carry the camera around in your right hand ready for a quick shot. I clipped to the left strap lug because it left my right hand free while I shot a live concert. The camera rested on my left leg between shots, and I just lifted it up to shoot. I already had an Optech loop connector attached to the left lug, because that's where I attach my Optech utility sling. I just clipped the strap on in place of the sling. Saved the camera when it slipped off my leg while I was changing batteries. I plan to keep it in my camera bag for whenever it's more convenient or less conspicuous than a big strap. Easy enough to attach a loop connector to the right lug too. And, the strap is very comfortable, well-built, and strong enough to hold a DSLR. Easy enough to unclip when laying the camera down.Highly recommended.Update - Sept. 2014: After over a year, this strap is still holding up well. There's only one quibble. The nylon fabric is delaminating from the neoprene and I'll probably have to replace it because it might get tangled up in my hand and cause an accident. BUT, I love this strap so much, I'm buying another one to replace it. The connector has held up just fine and the strap is comfortable and stretchy. I usually clip my OMD to an OpTech Utility Sling strap with a Uniloop connector on the left lug, and leave the wrist strap attached to the right lug just about permanently. I used the same gender Uniloop connector on both lugs so I can switch the strap back and forth depending on the situation.Whenever I take the camera off the sling, I slip the wrist strap over my right hand. Very secure. I'll even dangle the camera from my wrist if I run out of hands while changing batteries or lenses. Feel very confident in it.That's my only suggestion to OpTech - if they could prevent the fabric from delaminating or edge stitch it to reinforce it, it'd be perfect.

Comfortable, convenient, and effective
I have an Op/Tech bino/cam harness and bought this at the same time. They use the same size clips, so they're easily interchangeable in a matter of seconds. This strap fits securely, is very comfortable (I hardly notice it's there), and gives me the peace of mind that I won't drop my Canon XSi. I never hang or dangle it by the strap and don't recommend that, but I'm pretty confident it'll survive the few inches of drop just fine.If you don't need your hands free and will either mostly want to carry your camera ready in your hand a lot (because of frequent usage) or for a short period of time, it's so much nicer to use than a regular neck strap. Some people will wrap their neck strap around their wrist, but if you drop your camera, you'll likely have a drop of a few feet and the neck strap may then slide off your arm.Highly recommended!PROS:1) inexpensive; good value for the money2) comfortable and adjustable3) no big neck strap swinging around4) very discreet black color don't attract attention or scream out "I'm carrying an expensive SLR, please mug me."CONS:1) I wish they replaced the Uni-loop clips that attach to the camera. They're a little difficult to get on on camera. I would prefer some sort of fast attach/fast release clip that directly clips on/off the camera's rings.

An important accessory in my equipment bag.
Holds my camera safely and securely. Great for my when I use my 35mm, 50mm, and 24-70mm zoom lenses. Snaps easy and wrist band is adjustable for your wrist size.

The best of 4 I purcased here at Amazon
I did not want to like this. I thought I would like a strap that connected to the bottom screw on my 70D like a good strap does. I tried a couple that did hook on the bottom screw, but for a one hand strap the bottom is actually not the best place, at least for me.This is the best strap I could find. It works so great that I never take off the little attachment point. I can always pluck this off in an instant when I go to a shoulder strap and just click it right back on in a second. It is so comfortable and I love that it wraps the wrist and not the hand like others so if it was to fall it simply can't come off. The connection points are all solid and I just can't see a way for anything to break putting my camera in harms way. I like the neoprene(maybe) rubbery soft substance the strap is made of, a leather or vinyl hurt and left a mark on my wrist with other brands, this one is so comfortable. Some may think this material is a weakness and it may be its not as durable as leather or other material, but its strong enough for my 70D with a heavy lens and 10 times more comfortable than leather cutting into my skin. The unit I received is top notch all the way and I can only think the 1 star reviewers either got something different. If this breaks down over time or I change my opinion I will update.

Time to Strap Up
You know what's funny? Watching professional photographers shooting with their camera straps dangling and getting in the way. If you're not going to wear your camera around your neck, then why bother with a strap? Photographers will argue till they're blue in the face, but the honest truth is that it's not doing you any good if you're not using it.I'm one of those guys. A professional photographer who hates camera straps. When I'm out on a shoot, I usually will wrap my camera strap around my wrist a couple of times to get it out of the way and give me the added piece of mind that if I accidentally dropped my DSLR, I'd be able to catch it. Then one day I had an epiphany. Why not ditch the strap and get a wrist strap? This is the one I bought and it's great. Comfortable to wear all day long and it has a clip which detaches if you want to ditch the strap when you're working on a tripod. It's thick enough and the strap secure enough to easily support the weight of a DSLR. Personally, I'm shooting with a Canon 5D-Mark III. I have every confidence that this strap will keep my beloved DSLR from crashing to the ground if I accidentally dropped it.My only complaint is that your wrist will get sweaty if you wear this for an extended period of time. But every camera strap will do that, no matter what it's made out of. This strap is a nice, breathable, stretchy, foam-esque material and you quickly forget you have it on. But the best part of all? I have ditched the camera strap!

Decent price and gets the job done
I bought this for my T7i which I recently purchased. I am not a fan of neck straps or anything hanging around my neck. But I needed something to keep my camera secure. I was happy with the reviews on this one and it looked sturdy. Overall I am very happy with it.It's comfortable and definitely feels secure. My only real complaint is that I wish it was a touch longer. I have large hands and wrists and its basically maxed out. I have to angle it just right, in order to hold the camera. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to hold it and reach the shutter button.Pro's - It's pretty cheap. It's also a pretty comfortable neoprene style material. Stays secure and has already helped save my camera once.Cons - The loop was kind of a pain to install on my camera. Once it was through I could barely fit the clip piece piece through. Wish it was a little big bigger/longer, for those of us with large hands.

Bulky, lacking Fit & Finish
Functionally this wrist strap is excellent. No problems, highly recommended. What I don't like is that it's the same material, size, width, thickness as their basic neck strap. And that's fine for a neck strap, but when on my wrist it feels excessively bulky. And the edges of the strap are not nicely finished: just square cut neoprene.

Buen producto. Recomendable
