We wanted a larger coffee table, as we have a large lounge. This coffee table, is really good value, for the price paid, we have our bedroom fitted out with, this style of furniture, all be it the colour, of the wood is all in a natural finish. If you are not looking to spend a lot of money and looking for a sturdy piece of furniture, then this table is perfect, must add a minor issue, the table top is all one piece of wood, a little on the thin side, not sure our they are stored with the seller, the ta le top was a little bowed, but does bend back with the fixing supplied. We have no issue with the table and would highly recommend it, if on a budget and after something sturdy, a great buy 5 stars.

This was the second piece of Mercers Furniture that I have recently ordered and it has left me feeling slightly disappointed. I'll start off with why I was not completely satisfied with my purchase. Similar to other buyers, the wood for the top of the table was split upon arrival. It isn't as bad as some of the photos on here, but it is still quite difficult to ignore after noticing where it is exactly split. On top of that, the paint on the drawer is peeling off. I didn't have either of these issues with the other Mercers Furniture that I bought, so it is disappointing to see that the coffee table brings down my overall experience. They might seem like minor issues, but things like the paint peeling/chipping is just lazy/poor craftsmanship. It really wasn't hard to build. It is recomended that two people build it, but I managed okay doing it on my own (it just took slightly longer than the instructions estimated). It is quite easy to put together if you pay attention to the instructions/illustrations properly. The table itself is sturdy. I don't feel unsafe placing things on top of it or if I try to shake it there isn't a lot of unexpected movement. I think that some people just haven't put it together well enough if the table stability is as terrible as they claim it is for them. It seems like there is a common trend when it comes to drawers from Mercers Furniture. From my experience they seem to be very flimsy and a little bit unnecessary due to how small they are. The drawer on this coffee table could be bigger, and again in general the drawer is quite flimsy. Overall, despite the initial issues mentioned in this review, which has caused some disappointment, it still looks reasonably nice and isn't flimsy (barring the drawer, obviously.) I would recommend it, but be warned, it seems like getting a decent cut of wood for the tabletop is a bit of a gamble. So good luck if you do place an order when it is available!
