Great backpack for Nikon D3200
I consider this the ultimate backpack for a great photography travel, My Nikon fits well in the hammock system that suspends your SLR above the bottom of case, but I suggest you use a screen protector since is very near the zipper and you could scrap the screen if not careful when placing or removing the camera. You can also store a 15" notebook. I have to remove 2 of the spacers in order to fit all my equipment. I believe you won't regret bought this backpack, very well made, strong and comfortable. I have plenty space for 3 lens and my Nikon D3200 * Nikon D3200 24.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm and 55-200mm Non-VR DX Zoom Lenses Bundle * Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom Lens for Nikon Digital SLR And these kits accessories from Goja for Nikon 3200 * 52MM Complete Accessory Kit for NIKON DSLR (D3200 D5200 D5100 D5000 D3000 D90 D80) - Includes: 0.43x Wide Angle & 2.2x Telephoto High Definition Lenses + Bower I-TTL Dedicated Flash + Remote Control + Vivitar Filter Kit (UV, CPL, ND8) + Vivitar Macro Cl... * (2 Pack) Vivitar EN-EL14 / EN-EL14a Ultra High Capacity 1900mAH Li-ion Batteries for NIKON DSLR D5300 D5200 D5100 D3300 D3200 D3100, COOLPIX P7800 P7700 P7100 P7000, Nikon DF (Nikon EN-EL14 Replacement) (I bought 2 of these and place in the backpack) * 58MM Starter Accessory Kit for CANON EOS REBEL (T5i T4i T3i T3 T2i T1i XT XTi XSi SL1) - Includes: 0.43x Wide Angle & 2.2x Telephoto High Definition Lenses + Vivitar Filter Kit (UV, CPL, FLD) + Vivitar Macro Close-Up Set + Collapsible Lens Hood + Snap O... My Favorite Camera Bag!
Update 10/3/14: So I felt that I should update this review. It's been about 6 months since my original review, and I still love this bag. I have noticed a little wear and tear on the bottom, but I do use this at least 2-3 times per week for shoots. Everything else on the bad looks like it's brand new, which is amazing to me with how much it's being used... The inner padding is still nice and thick, no break down there. Only place I'm seeing any sign of wear is on the bottom where it get placed on the ground/table during shoots, which make complete sense... Definitely a good pick! April 2014: I have had many camera bags over the years, but this is definitely my favorite. It is perfect for city living photographers/filmmakers. I generally use this camera bag for broll video shoots, and it has been great. It looks like a normal backpack so generally I feel more comfortable walking with it down the street. Cameras are an easy steal.. It also has two velcro straps on the zipper, which makes it harder for someone to unzip your bag without you noticing on a crowded train/bus. The theft part aside, this bag also has a great deal of space. I cary several lenses, flash, extra batteries, cards etc, and I generally use the side straps (tripod straps) for my monopod, which fits perfectly. It's also much more comfortable when carrying for a long period of time. No more sore shoulders at the end of the day. Having the quick access top is great for run and gun photo/video. The camera slides in nicely and all the padding inside feels very thick. I have no concern about my camera being damaged by a minor bump somewhere, and they are adjustable enough to keep accessories from bouncing all over. The camera, sitting in its cradle is nearly immobilized, which is great compared to my old bags, which I was always concerned about the camera shifting in the bag. Plus the accessories you put in there all sit under the camera so you never need to worry about something bouncing around and scratching up your camera, unless you hold the bag upside down... Lastly, when I was researching this bag, I read a few reviews that mentioned the rubber bottom of the bag making it hard to access the very bottom of the bag. I agree that the bag does not open completely so it's certainly in the way, but I have not found it to be difficult to access anything. I do generally have larger lenses on the bottom so they sit high enough to get access easily despite it. I suppose it depends on your layout. I like having the rubber bottom in the event something spills or you need to briefly sit the bag on a slightly wet floor. One last thing to mention is the great little computer section. It's great to be able to fit my macbook pro into the back and take it with on the occasional shoot. I've also used it to hold/organize release forms when on shoots as it nicely holds paper/folders/13inch laptops without any problem. I sometimes am concerned about the weight of the bag squashing my laptop in the middle, since it's held between me and the bag, but it is padded, and I haven't had any issues yet... Long story short, I am extremely happy with this bag. I will absolutely buy again when it wears out, but I've used this almost daily for 4 months now, and it still looks like new, so I am not worried about it wearing out anytime soon, not to mention I bought it used, and it was sent looking like new... My favorite bag yet!

Initial thoughts: Looks good.
I just received my Case Logic backpack. Overall impressions: Very well made. The zippers are stout. Plastic, yes, but strong with thick teeth. The case material is tightly woven and feels durable. And plenty of pockets with individual storage. And, the base of the pack is plastic! It's a good protection feature and balances the pack well when set on a flat surface. The interior is well padded. The "trampoline" system for suspending a camera with lens is unique. I haven't tried it with a camera yet, but it looks like it could hold the weight of a 70-200mm lens and camera body easily. And there are enough "cells" to hold at least 8 items (lenses, flashes, etc.). The slot for the laptop is large enough to easily hold a smaller laptop, and still provide room for extra components, such as an external drive, and mouse. Here's the one thing I really like about the bag: Case Logic has built "stops" into the zipper train for the flap covering the interior. The stops are actually strips of velcro. They block the zipper from accidently sliding and opening the flap without knowing. Just secure the velcro, and the zipper only moves about 4 inches. Neat design feature! Can't wait to take this on a trip! ***UPDATE Dec 28, 2014*** I took the case on an 11-day trek across Southern Morocco in November 2014. Now that I've had the chance to give it a good workout in the field, here are my thoughts: 1. The case is very durable, and the zippers are strong. The fabric/material stands up to abuse. I had the case in the sand, on stones, on the back of a camel -- no problems. 2. The plastic base. It will hold the case upright on flat ground, but you need to make sure the load is situated with the heavier items toward the bottom. Top-heaviness will result. 3. The trampoline. I found it to be pretty much useless. I removed it. With it in place, it actually reduces the space for fitting a camera body w/lens. 4. The flap/lid. This caused me the biggest headache. It will not stay open. Once you unzip to take out the lens, it will fall back into place. No matter how much you bend, push, swear at it, when you bend it open, it will fall back into the closed position. Quite a pain in the... (The zipper stops worked well though. Nice feature.) 5. The compartments. The Velcro dividers make it easy to arrange the interior. I found one small problem. There is a compartment just above the plastic base...in the corner. With the flap open, it is very hard to remove any lens in this compartment. Best bet is to use that lower corner to hold wires/fabric cases, etc. If you put a lens in there, it is a bear to get it out. 6. Laptop slot. Nice padded. Protected my MacBook quite nicely, and had extra space for travel docs, etc. On the whole, it's a good bag. I really wish CaseLogic would do something about the lid/flap that will not stay open!

Good bad, very configurable!
Excellent bag. I bought this about 10 months ago when I started buying heavily into film equipment for shooting short movies while I'm at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. At that time I wasn't entirely sure what to look for in a bag, but this one seemed pretty decent. Several months in, here's what I can tell you: the bag's greatest features are: 1. It's ridiculously well padded. Seriously, no normal usage will cause your gear the least bit of harm inside this bag. It's journeyed across America, Turkey and Scotland with no problems. 2. The reconfigurable interior foam is fantastic. You can reconfigure the bag's internals in any way you want (obviously within the constraints of the bag's size and included components), making it very easy to create tight fitting compartments for your lenses, camera body and other accessories. This is, of course, super important for making sure your gear is well protected. I've got mine configured to hold the 3 lenses I normally carry, as well as a set of ND filters, USB power bricks for recharging my other accessories, and of course, various and sundry accessories that change depending on what I plan to be shooting. The shoulder straps are thick and well padded, and of course can be adjusted to your comfort area (I recommend high on the shoulders, but then, I'm a guy with big shoulders (48"), so that may just be an anatomy based preference. The outer pockets are great for carrying stuff you need easy access to (surprise, surprise, right?, and each is double zippered so you can lock them if you feel it's necessary. Also, there are straps on one side to hold your small tripod, if you're into such a thing. The bag is well made and, almost a year in for me, shows no signs of wear or tear. I am happy with the purchase and expect you probably will be, too.

My favorite bag right now.
If you are into photography and have a lot of gear, you probably have a wide range of bags that fit specific needs. I have probably had 20 different bags over the last 10 years in all shapes and sizes. Every bag I have ever purchased always had one of two things that prevented it from being perfect. I have found myself taking padding or dividers from a bag to fix other bag to try to make them better. This bag will allow me to get rid of the majority of my bags. It is my new favorite and I see myself using it for the majority of my work. It is set up perfectly for my equipment and has not had an issue with it. Pluses: 1. The hard shell bottom is brilliant. Why has no other bag company thought of this? No more wet bottom, no more tipping. Easily the best feature. 2. Holds an amazing amount of gear in a small space. The padding in it is better than any other bag I have had. Smart setup allows you to fit a ton of gear. Currently in this bag: 60d, 1D Mark II, 70-200 f4 with hood, 50mm f1.4, 17-40 f4 with hood, 28mm f1.8, 430ex II flash, Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook. 4 extra batteries and 2 chargers for 60d, 1 extra batter for 1D Mark II, A ton of cables for iPhone, Ultrabook power supply, memory cards, camera and flash manuals, External HD, External battery case for iPhone, Eye Glass case, business card wallet, wallet, rocket blower, assorted micro fiber wipes, 2 pair of ear buds, and a small bottle of tylenol. That is a lot in such a smallish bag. I have another bag that is 3 inches taller and 4 inches wider that does not hold all that. After all that, the bag looks in it's original state and not overly packed. 3. It is light and the straps fit nicely. You do not feel the pressure of the laptop on your back in this bag. It is very padded and overall, it fits my back nicely. 4. Interior color is yellow which allows you to see things lying in bag in darker light. I hate trying to find a battery in dark light when the bag is gray. A black battery sticks out in yellow better than on gray or black. 5. It is small enough where you can carry it with all my gear as a normal work bag. My gear is always with me now. 6. The front pocket is nicely divided up. The side pocket kills for all the cables I carry. 7. The suspension holder for the camera is pretty cool actually. Works better with a short lens I have found than with a longer lens. Especially with a ton of other lenses, etc... The 50mm f1.4 on the camera works great with the suspension strap. Cons: 1. The straps that loosen/tighten the backpack straps have this really cool Velcro strap around it that prevents the straps from flying around. All though cool, if you pull on it, it tightens the backpack strap. If you use those straps to pull the backpack straps apart to take off, it doesn't work so well. The straps slide up and down the backpack strap a little too easy. 2. I have never used the tripod straps on any bag I have had, but normally the straps are in the middle of the bag to better balance out the bag. These are on the right side of the bag and may cause you to be a little unbalanced. Not a complaint since I will probably never use it, but it may be for others. Just a fantastic bag. If this bag had other flaws, the hard shell bottom would trump them alone. Just a brilliant idea, especially if you are out on a nice fall day after a rain. The bag stays dry if you put it down. ***UPDATE TO THIS REVIEW - OCT. 30th, 2012*** Ran into this issue a couple times now. If you leave the laptop compartment unzipped a little (5-6 inch opening) and you pick up a backpack strap, both zippers unzip the entire length and my Ultrabook almost escaped out of it. My bag was full of gear and the weight of the gear caused the zippers to slide easily down to the bottom of the bag, which in this case is an issue. Please remember to zip them all the way to the top or do what I do, zip them both to the bottom on one side. I don't think this changes my overall rating on the bag, but it is something I will have to get used to.

Best camera backpack ever!
I thought I would go back and provide a review for this backpack; however, I see that it's not longer available for sale. Case Logic makes a great product, no doubt about that. This bag has stood the test of time after I bought it 13 years ago and it still fits, feels very comfortable, and black always remains in style. With the removable panels inside, you can adjust some of them to fit the gear that you currently take traveling with you, protected as safe as can be. It easily fits both in the overhead compartment of an aircraft and under the seat in front of you. Travelability organization Style I do with the style of the backpack would have allowed the addition of a chest strap to ease that burden on your shoulders. Style Organization

Better than a camera bag, it's a well-thought backpack
Whether or not you need to carry a lot of lenses or accessories this backpack is well worth considering. There's plenty of room for lenses, batteries, accessories, and a tripod to be carried on the side. Each and every interior piece is Velcro attached so it's adjustable for various length lenses. An unexpected bonus is that it's very easy to clean since all the pieces can be removed and washed as necessary (I found this out after an unruly sports fan dumped a soda into the bag because I didn't toss a game ball into the stands). A unique feature of this backpack is the SLR cradle at the top of the pack. Simply adjust the cradle (it's Velcro so it's quick and easy) and slide the camera in. Simply unzip the top of the flap, reach in and grab the camera, and you now have the camera in perfect position to shoot. I don't normally carry a laptop with me unless I'm covering a tournament and need to develop photos between games but the laptop sleeve is a nice feature if you need it. An unintended feature of the backpack is that it doesn't scream "expensive camera equipment inside - please steal", it's simply a black backpack with modest labeling. I've used this bag for an entire sports season. It's been lugged around dozens of stadiums, sat in grass and mud, had soda dumped on it, and it still looks new inside and out. If this one ever wears out I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another. Pros: -Lightweight -Well-made -Very adjustable -Foam padding does a good job protecting equipment -Exterior seems to be fairly soda-resistant as it didn't seep through and wiped clean with a damp cloth -Exterior bottom panel is made of a thicker waterproof panel that also cleans easily and keeps the interior dry -Tripod straps can easily be used to carry two water/Gatorade bottles -Comfortable to carry since the weight is better distributed over both shoulders unlike traditional camera bags that sling over a single shoulder, a common cause of neck and shoulder pain. Cons: -Does not have dedicated pockets for memory cards or batteries. It does have zippered pockets but if you prefer your memory cards to be organized you'll need a memory card pouch. -I would prefer a bit more padding on the shoulder straps. They're not bad but could be better. If you're not carrying the backpack for hours on end I don't think it'd matter very much but figured I'd mention it in case that's a primary concern for you.

After 3 years, still my favorite all around pack.
I have beat the living crud out of this bag and it is still, hands down, my favorite backpack. I have 3 backpacks and 2 hip bags sitting in my closet. Of the packs, one is another (newer) Case Logic and one is a Lowepro. I've also used other packs before and can tell you that this is about as solid an offering as you can find. Can it use some upgrades? Yes and I really thought the Kontrast line would be the pinnacle of Camera Packs but they skimped out on some of the padding, didn't really fix some of the annoying stuff, and so it falls short. When I'm fully loaded I've got a 6D with a 24-105 or a 16-35, a 70-200, a 50 Prime, 2 full sized speed lights, a flash command unit, 2 packs of filters, and a Rogue Flash gel kit in the main compartment. Inside pockets, I keep a card case and a couple cords In the back, you can store about a 15" laptop or a large pad but I typically use it for release forms or other paperwork. In the side pockets, I keep up to 4 spare batteries and sometimes just 2 batteries and a lavalier or some remote triggers. In the front pocket, I keep 2 4 pack cases of AA's and a 4 pack of AAA's, a pen, a lens cloth, a lens pen and my camera cap screwed into a lens back. It also has a couple side straps for a reasonable tripod but I like to carry mine by hand as it makes the pack really lopsided unless it's a very lightweight rig or a monopod. The base is molded plastic so you can set it down in mud or snow, which I have done too many times to count now. The shoulder straps are very comfortable so even with all that weight I'm still happy to carry the pack. Your camera sits vertically in a sling at the top and the zippers come down in a way that makes it quick to grab. They also have a couple of small velcro stops so you can yank them down quickly without much concern, grab your camera and get to shooting without unzipping the whole thing accidentally. I have treated this bag like a piece of throw away trash and it is still in great condition. It gets thrown around, kicked, wet, muddy, you name it. The only time I'm kind of careful is when it's loaded up with my gear and even then it still gets dirty. GRIPES? Yeah I have a few. I still hate the velcro separators. They will always be a pain to position but it's pretty standard in most bags so, you learn to live with it. I wish it had waist straps that tucked away like the newer Case Logic DSB-103 (good pack with bad access). It doesn't always stand up straight. The base could be a bit more stable if you ask me, sometimes it's a bit front heavy and the bag tips over no matter what. I've seen and heard some people complain about the sling. I think it's because they like to leave their hoods on... maybe, I dunno. If you're shooting with an ultra wide there is almost no bag that will accommodate your lens+the flowery hood. It's just too big. Without a hood it's a great way to keep the camera secure and suspended while maintaining quick access. Personally I love it. On that same note, I wish there was some kind of small strap to hang hoods from. Everyone needs them and they are always going to be awkward, might as well just hang em from the pack on some kind of strap or tie-down. Mesh with a bit more stretch or space. Right now all the mesh in this bag feels really tight and doesn't stretch much to make room for little items. A rain fly. It's a great pack and holds out rain pretty well, but every pack should have a rain fly if you ask me. That's just kind of a no-brainer. OVERALL I feel like it was hard for me to appreciate this pack until I dealt with some others. I really hope CL makes some upgrades and puts out a v2 or something. I'm willing to pay the premium for something with the comfort, convenience, and durability. I've tried others, even almost sold it at one point but I keep coming back to this old tank. It's like an almost perfect lover. I wish she could change a few things but I'm willing to live with it because she's just so great overall. You might think you want that $300 pack but seriously, give this one a go first. It grows on you.
