We justs upgraded from a bed side newborn cot to a larger cot for our 1 year old. As a result we had to get all new bedding and a waterproof sheet/ cover is the most important one. It fits easily over a standard cot sized mattress. Ours was 60x 120 and it slipped over and stayed secure. You then add a standard cotton sheet on top. The protector does have a right and wrong surface so make sure to pay attention when putting it on as it will make a difference to the little one. It has a soft cover on one side and not so soft on the other to stop anything soaking through. We have had one heavy nappy that overflowed but a quick change of sheets and pat down and her bed was good to go. Noise wise we have had covers that sounded like a windbreaker every time the little one rolled over and as a result they wouldn't sleep well. This has no noise and the little one slept happily.
