Works as expected
There’s not a lot to say about a product like this, it either works or it doesn’t. And this one works. I was able to plug my shower drain for inspection while remodeling the basement and this held the water back for 12 hours while doing my leak test. What more could you ask for? I would recommend hanging the handle off a nail or screw though, the nylon “leash” will put an insignificant amount of water on the floor, due to capillary action, if you just let it lay over the edge of the curb. Won’t matter for most people I’m sure, but it was an observation that I made while using it.

Versatile plug for all your plumbing needs
This is the second plug I have bought for a plumbing project. Only giving 4 stars because the first one had a bad valve and did have a slow leak but the second one worked great, was able to hold pressure for several days while doing testing.

May need an air hose for cleanouts
It works ok if you use it right at the end of a pipe. However, if you need to push it further into the pipe, like past the Wye joint in an outside septic cleanout, be aware that you will need a special extension air hose that is long enough and designed to be used with a ball like this. The other is that the pull out strap is only about 38" long, which kept me from pushing the bulb past the wye joint and into the main pipe. I suppose you could tie a longer rope to it.

Easy to use and does the job!
This product (G.T. Water Products, Inc. TP122 Safe-T-Seal Test Plug, Fits 1-1/4-Inch to 2-Inch Pipes) worked great to plug my 2" drain needed to perform a 24-hour leak check on my new mortared shower pan. It is very easy to use: Simply insert it into the drain and pump it up. I used a hand-powered bicycle pump and this worked well. My leak check was successful, so this product obviously sealed the drain well. For added ease-of-use, I purchased an extension hose from Amazon also: G.T. Water Products, Inc. TPH4 Extension Air Hose, 4-Foot. This allowed me to inflate the unit more easily.

Works perfectly. A must for shower pan test
Works just like it should. As others stated, can't find in the big box stores but a must if you need to leak test a shower pan as I am doing. As for the review where it burst and "can ruin your pipes and hurt you", that is what happens when you inflate it outside of a pipe. Same principle if you inflate a bicycle tire tube outside of a tire. Without external constraint (the pipe) it won't reach pressure without ballooning and rupturing. Inside a 2" pipe, it only took a small dose of air to reach 35 psi (max for that diameter pipe). Read the instructions and if you feel you must bench test it, put it inside a piece of scrap pipe.

Good Plug
Inflated and deflated fine...didn't have any leaks. One thing I like about this plug is that it seems to fit a wider range of pipes than most plugs Also you really should get the extension hose http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055NNO7I/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00 They are pretty much a must have. I think any plug would be a pain to use without one (ps the extension hose I posted a link to will work on any plug not just the one above)
