The lamp works as expected. I had a little challenge getting the wick to fit through the hole in the ceramic cap but managed to do so, but I think that is normal.

It works good wish the cap was not plastic so when I turn it off I could leave it on but I’m afraid it will melt

I'm a practitioner and I use these alcohol burner for fire cupping. I needed an extra one for my other office so picked this one up for the price. The product itself has some minor issue hope the can fix on the future. One is the ceramic wick holder. Like few over reviewer mention Trying to get the wick through it was pain in the tooshi. I eventually had to take it to my office and use one of the tweezer to pull it through all the way. Ceramic wick holder is great to absorb the heat but it needs a rubber sealer or something to air tighten to the bottle so it doesn't spill if tip over and secondly so school doesn't evaporate. Also as you can see next to my older burner I can use the metal neck slide up and down the wick to control the flame where the new one does not have that function. You will need a tweezer to pull the wick itself up to make flame bigger and to lower flame you will need to put out the fire and take the wick cap off and pull it down. So that is not very convenient. Lastly the plastic cap. Who thought of using a plastic cap to put out a fire was a great idea? It should be ceramic or metal like my old one. It is nice that it comes with extra wick. Hint: I always use 95-99% isopropyl alcohol. Normal drug store ones won't burn well. Once you put in the alcohol you need to allow the wick to soak to the tip or you will be burning the wick dry.

This alcohol burner works great. It is hard putting in the wick but it’s doable. Just wish the cover wasn’t such a thin plastic but it kills the flame

The funnel is nice and big so filling was easy. I am using denatured alcohol for fuel. The cap is plastic. To extinguish the flame I put the cap on then took it off within half a second. It extinguished the flame. I made sure the ceramic insert cooled completely before putting the cap back on. The cap, when pushed down all of the way, might reduce the amount of evaporation of the fuel but it provides no seal to keep the liquid fuel from leaking out if the lamp tips over. The ceramic insert to hold the wick is a very loose fit and provides no seat at all. At first I could not see the ceramic insert when I unboxed the lamp and thought something was missing. I eventually found the insert in its small bubble wrap pouch. The wick took a bit of effort to push through the ceramic insert. I eventually got it close to the top then uses some needle nosed tweezers to pull it through all of the way. There is no way to adjust the wick or flame once the lamp is burning. The wick lit OK once it had soaked up the fuel. It burned for the few minutes I used to check out the performance. Probably worth the $10 I payed but it really needs a seal between the glass reservoir and the ceramic insert, and a metal cap. Why would anyone think that a thin plastic cap was a good idea for an open flame lamp?

I got this to do some low-temperature heating of some epoxy resin coatings. I didn’t want soot or excessive heat. So far, using 99.9% methanol (methyl hydrate) it has worked as desired. I am led to believe that more soot is produced by ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, but haven’t tried it yet.
